A small, late 19th century, hallmarked silver christening mug with engraved inscription dated 1892 and Aesthetic-style floral and foliate decoration; together with one other slightly smaller example assayed London 140 (the larger tankard 7.5cm) (total weight approx. 194g) Smaller tankard has a small indentation towards the centre in the lower section. Also there has been some rubbing out of some sort of engraving to the underside.
A heavy early 19th century hallmarked silver circular salver; gadrooned edge, engraved central armorial of a lion wielding a battle-axe and cross with the motto 'Miseris Succerrure Disco', raised on three claw-and-ball style feet, maker's mark HB, (probably Hester Bateman), assayed London 1804, OR MORE PROBABLY 1786 UPON CLOSED INSPECTION (30.25cm in diameter, approx. 790g)Condition is generally very good overall with some minor surface scratches commensurate with age. The salver stands straight and there doesn’t appear to be any problems with the legs, no breakages or reparations. There is some scratching to the underside. There is one small minor “ding” approx.. 1.5cm up from the lot number as photographed. This is extremely minor appears to be emanating from the underside, so there is a small mark in relief to the top.
