A large Japanese Meiji period patinated bronze censor with silver and gold overlay. With a large pan top decorated in relief with a dragon under a ropetwist border, the central ovoid body is decorated with two panels showing figures playing musical instruments, raised on a stepped circular base ornamented with stylized scrolls and mythical creatures.
