Cawthray, 8 for 51, including the Hat Trick, 26th June 54", a 1978 England v Pakistan bronze medallion, awarded to Cawthray (he was the groundsman), a 9ct gold medal, Birmingham 1932, inscribed, W.R.C.L, 2nd Div, 1932, 2.9gm, three bronze Selby Schools medals 1925,1925, 1927, and three other medals, two cricket bats, History of Yorkshire County Cricket 1924 - 1949 by J.M. Kilburn, Yorkshire C.C.C. seasons, 1939, 1940, 1948, 1952, 1953, 1961, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970 - 1973, 1975 - 1978 and 1981 and other ephemera.George Cawthray (1913 – 2000) was an English first-class cricketer, who played four matches for Yorkshire in a first-class career which spanned thirteen years. He was stated to have scored 30,000 runs, and taken 3,000 wickets during a long successful career which was interrupted by World War II, during which he was a glider pilot (see the medal section of this auction).Between 1964 and 1978 he was groundsman/professional at Headingley.
