An Emerald and Diamond Hinged Banglethe central section of openwork design, comprising of two oval cabochon emeralds and five vari-sized emerald-cut and step cut emeralds, in yellow rubbed over settings, flanked by trios of old cut and eight-cut diamonds, in white claw settings, to yellow engraved tapered shoulders and a double row hinged back with bead work decoration, total estimated diamond weight 0.60 carat approximately measures 6.5cm by 4.6cmThe bangle is in poor condition with abrasion and chips to each of the emeralds, there is also evidence of acid testing. It fastens with a tongue and box catch and features a figure-of-eight safety catch. It bears no hallmark but in our opinion would test as silver gilt and gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 32.0 grams. CR made 09.06.23.

A Pair of George III Silver-Tureens and Covers, by Benjamin Laver, London, 1782 each oval and on conforming beaded foot, the border with a band of flowerheads within foliage and on a textured ground, between beaded borders, with two scroll handles, the detachable cover with beaded border, chased foliage and foliage-cast and berried finial27.5cm wide, 45oz 17dwt, 1,425gr (2)Another pair by the same maker and of the same date was sold Bonhams, 12 December 2006, lot 384. Both pairs are inspired by the designs of Robert Adam and James Wyatt.Each fully marked on foot, the covers apparently unmarked. The marks are generally clear, though the maker's mark on one with some wear. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The finial on one cover has been pushed into the body and is bruised. There is a repair to the finial on the other cover. The foot on one has been pushed into the body. The base on one is bruised and so the tureen rocks slightly when placed on a flat surface.

The principal diamond measures 6.96mm x 7.27mm x 4.56mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour J/K/L (some tinted), clarity SI2/I1/I2/I3. Gross weight 9.1 grams. It fastens with a bolt ring catch. The pendant is stamped '18C' and with an M in a lozenge and in our opinion would test as platinum fronted gold. The chain is indistinctly marked and in our opinion would test as silver. The amethyst measures 30.00mm x 30.00mm x 16.19mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI1/SI2/I1. Gross weight 21.8 grams. CR made 07.06.23.

A Victorian Silver Figural Centrepiece, by John Hunt and Robert Roskell, London, 1869 realistically modelled as a horse and rider, the rider depicted with cap, his boots complete with spurs, the horse saddled and with stirrups, on a base cast as rockwork and with a further ebonised wood basethe base 30cm wide, 92oz 13dwt, 2,882grAmong the oeuvre of Hunt and Roskell depictions of horses and figures, such as the present example, stand out. They seem to have been using a number of different designers through the second half of the 19th century, including Alfred Brown, see for example a pair of equestrian groups marked for 1854 which were exhibited at the International Exhibition of 1862 (sold Sotheby’s, New York, 20 October 2021, lot 134) and the Tweeddale Testimonial, now in the collection of Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Collection on loan to the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Another designer was George Armson Carter who is recorded as working for Hunt and Roskell in the late 1860s. He is known to have designed the Huntingdon cup of 1869, the same year as the present example. It is formed as King John on Horseback.Fully marked on base. The figure part marked on right foot of with maker's mark and left foot with duty mark and lion passant. The horse part marked on right side of tail with maker's mark, lion passant and duty mark. The stirrups and each fixing nut each part marked with lion passant The side of the base further stamped 'Hunt & Roskell Late Storr & Mortimer' and numbered '5071'. The marks are all generally clear. The reins are apparently unmarked but appear to be original. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and marks to the ebonised base.

A Pair of Chinese Export Silver Vases, With Artisan Mark of Ren, Hong Kong and Canton, First Half 20th Century, Retailed by The Sincere Company Ltd., Hong Kong each tapering cylindrical and on spreading foot and with crimped rim, each chased on one side with three classical deities emblematic of fortune, prosperity and longevity, the other side with cranes on rockwork and below pine trees and with flowers22cm high, 17oz, 528gr (2)Tennants are grateful to Adrien von Ferscht for his assistance in cataloguing this lot.Each is marked on foot. There is some wear to the marks but in general each is still legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points. There is some bruising overall, particularly noticeable to the rims and to the foot on one. This vase rocks slightly when placed on a flat surface.

He married Anne Colby of Bletherston in 1775 and was succeeded by his son, also HughNo cracks or noted mildew / wear to the painting itself. Stones all intact. Rear plare with some deep scratches. The top bow appears to be detachable and serves as a suspension loop to wear as a pendant, there is a slot to the bottom with no fitting present, possible for use as a bracelet.Outer case in fair condition with some marks.
