Great War & Afghanistan North West Frontier Medal Group of Four Kent Cyclist Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment, group consisting of British War and Victory medals “2108 PTE F E WOODLAND KENT CYC BN”, Indian General Service Medal 1908 with single clasp Afghanistan N.W.F 1919 “266198 PTE F E WOODLAND R W KENT REGIMENT”. Medals are swing mounted for wear. Accompanied by 1939-45 Defence medal awarded for service during WW2. Accompanying the medals is a hallmarked silver Kent Education Committee medal, various photographs of Private Woodland and various documents relating to his service and demobilisation. Private Frank E Woodland was from Dymchurch Nr Folkstone. He enlisted in the 1/1st Kent Cyclist Battalion. He saw service with the regiment in India during the first world war from 1916. He continued to serve with the Royal West Kent regiment during the campaign in Afghanistan, North West Frontier in 1919.
Great War 1914-15 Star Trio & Photographs Manchester Regiment, the medals were awarded to “1590 PTE V BAGNALL MANCH R”. The medals remain in good condition and complete with ribbons. Accompanying the medals are a number of snapshot and postcard photographs of Private Bagnall out in Egypt before landing on the Gallipoli peninsular. Newspaper cutting identifying Private Bagnall which states he was a Billiards player in the Manchester area. His medal index card states that he later served with the Labour Corps and was awarded the Silver War Badge.
Rare Third Reich Feldgendarmerie / Army Recruiting Parade Tunic, good quality parade pattern tunic with flat wire breast eagle, orange piping to the front, collar and cuffs. Orange backed collar litzen and cuff patches. Orange piped shoulder boards with silver wire tress, number 2 and single rank pip to each. Loop for a single medal ribbon bar to the breast. Fine quality lining to the interior of the tunic. Some minor moth nips to the tunic but overall a very good example of one of the scarcest parade tunics.
Great War 1914-15 Star Trio & Territorial Force Efficiency Medal Group Royal Artillery, 1914-15 star trio named “556 DVR E BETTLEY RA” and George V Territorial Force Efficiency medal “705068 GNR E BETTLEY R.F.A”. Accompanied by boxed WW2 Defence medal with slip. Medals remain in good overall condition, trio and TFEM swing mounted for wear. Edward Bettley served in Egypt from 28th May 1915. He was awarded a silver war badge and discharged on 17th March 1919. During WW2 he served with 211th Heavy Anti-Aircraft regiment Royal Artillery.
Victorian 4th Volunteer Battalion East Surrey Regiment Officers Cross Belt Plate, fine quality officers cross belt plate being laurel wreath surmounted by Victorian crown, silver gilt regimental pattern star to the centre, scroll with “4TH VOLUNTEER BATTALION” and lower three part scroll with “THE EAST SURREY REGT”. Complete with the backing plate to the reverse which is stamped with retailers mark for Samuel Brothers, London. Three screw post fittings to the reverse of the plate. Very good example.

The silverware was produced by Bruckmann and Wellner and all had the monogram of Adolf Hitler. Much of this silverware was liberated by the American and British forces in 1945. In the TV series “Band of Brothers”, they show a scene of American Paratroopers form the 101st Airborne liberating such items.

Complete with the original handle, hinged lid and spout. Underneath is stamped with 925 silver mark and makers stamp for Bruckmann. Accompanied by the matching smaller milk jug in the same style and with the same silver and makers mark and a small double handled tankard in the same style. All remain in very good condition. Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger, white celluloid grip retaining the original wire binding, gilt brass eagle pommel top with swastika to the centre. Cross guard with the original button release catch in working order. Brass scabbard with etched decoration and two hanging rings. Original Kriegsmarine issue silver bullion wire dress knot (portepee) loosely tied to the grip. Double edged blade with etching of foliage and anchors etc measuring 24 ½ cms in length. E u F Horster, Solingen makers trade mark to the base of the blade. Some surface staining to the blade but otherwise good untouched example.
Luftwaffe Cased Flak Badge, fine example of a mid war Luftwaffe Flak gunners award badge retaining much of its original blued silver finish. Reverse of the award with ball hinge fitting and sunken hook catch. Slightly scooped out eagle and flak gun to the reverse. Badge is housed in its original presentation case with gilt tooled “flak Kampf Abz” to the top of the lid and blue lining to the interior. Some light wear to the box but the award remains in very good condition.

Victorian Cavalry Officers Dress Cross Belt, having hallmarked silver fittings (London 1864?), gilt braid on red leather backing. Missing arrow sockets and arrows replaced. Accompanied by a similar example but with plated fittings. The first with some areas of restoration. (2 items)
Personal Silverware of Hermann Goring and Emmy Sonnermann, consisting of four silver cover plates made by the German silversmiths Grosse & Sohn Berlin. Deep cantered plates with scalloped edges and the pre-marital crests of both Hermann Goring and his second wife Emmy Sonnermann (later Emmy Goring) affixed to the top of each plate. Each plate is marked with the silversmiths mark and 835 silver stamp. All have nice patina and remain in good condition. (4 items) These plates were originally sold on the 25th October 1974 at auction in Neumister Weinmuller, Germany and formed part of a large collection of personal belongings of Hermann Goring and his family. The items were purchased by well known American collector Keith Wilson of Kansas City, USA.
Fine British WW1 Twin Bladed Aircraft Propeller, 9’ overall, constructed from laminated mahogany, the front of each blade painted with a broad red band, the boss faces painted grey, the boss extensively stamped including ‘1 – P.V over 51 within a circle, BUNGE, 28127, T28293 - RAF – SUNBEAM ARAB UNGEARED – SE5A- PROP N0. 28127’ and with silver transfer reading ‘CALIBRATIONS, REVS, H.P. ENGINE AIRSCREW [followed by a table of numbers] and TESTED AT RAF 28.7.18’. Preserved in Excellent condition, this propeller has not been cleaned or refinished. Provenance: This propeller was discovered in the attic of a house close to the site of Croydon Airport approx. 15-20 years ago. The airport developed on the site of RFC Station Beddington, founded in 1915 to protect London against Zeppelins. In 1918 the National Aircraft Factory N0.1 was built on adjacent land.

Third Reich Transitional D.L.V / 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Dress Dagger, being a cross over pattern example. Blue leather grip retaining the original wire binding, top pommel with inlaid gilt mobile swastika, early pattern cross guard with inlaid mobile swastika to each side. Original blue leather covered scabbard with the original D.L.V type nickel silver mounts with staple bolts to the reverse. Original un-marked nickel silver ringed hanging chains with clip fitting. Near mint condition double edged blade measuring 30 ½ cms in length. SMF Solingen makers trade mark to the base of the blade and stamped acceptance stamp. Blue leather spacer still intact. Some minor scuffing to the leather work but generally a very nice example of a scarce and desirable early transitional Luftwaffe dagger.
8th Lancashire Rifle Volunteers Medal, being a silver (not hallmarked) medal in the form of a eight pointed star with laurel wreath and circlet to the centre with kneeling rifleman and “8TH L.R.V” above. Reverse is engraved “10 YEARS SERVICE – PTE J DENNISON LANC RIFLE VOL ATTENDANCE 28th JULY 1864”. Medal has ribbon fitted. Polished to the obverse but otherwise good condition.

First two medals with original ribbons and dark patina.
Rare Attributed WW2 Condor Legion Spanish Air Force Pilots Wing, fine quality two piece example in silver gilt and enamel pilots wing made by ROKISKI MADRID. Complete with backing plate and lug fittings. Wing is engraved on the reverse “Juan Polo Sot”. Remains in very good overall condition. The Spanish Air Force played an important part along with the German Luftwaffe during the Spanish Civil War of the 1930’s. A number of pilots also flew against the Soviet Union as part of the Blue Division along with the Luftwaffe. They were heavily involved during the Battle of Kursk.

Boer War Interest, cast iron base of shrapnel shell inlaid with a silver disc engraved ‘South Africa 1900’, maker’s initials cast into base; a sectioned and polished iron shrapnel fragment engraved ‘Kimberley Siege 15/11/99’; and a brass letter-opener engraved ‘1914 = Souvenir=1919 France’ the handle made from a cartridge. All Good condition and with excellent age patina. (3 items)

Lower three part scroll affixed to the laurel spray with “THE ROYAL SUSSEX REGT” within. Three lug fittings to the reverse of the plate.
