A silver key wind pocket watch, with silver chain, the watch marked "J.G. Graves, Sheffield, The Midland Lever". CONDITION REPORT: The watch case is in generally good order with only very minor scratches and dents. The watch glass is in good condition. The dial is also in good order and the movement winds and is ticking away as it should.
A silver cased Hunter pocket watch, fusee movement, plated chain. CONDITION REPORT: This pocket watch is in generally very good condition. It is ticking away. The outer case is in good order and all of the hinges operate as they should. The watch face is undamaged and the numerals crisp and clear. Diameter of watch case 52 mm.
A 19th century silver Breton inspired French lapel brooch, the crown and ermine motifs from the emblem of Anne of Brittany (1477-1514), twice crowned Queen of France. CONDITION REPORT: Width 36 mm, height 28 mm. The condition of the brooch is good and there are no issues other than dirt.
A large Scottish silver and crowned agate "Luckenbooth" brooch. CONDITION REPORT: Height 55 mm, width 42 mm. The silver is marked to the rear Iona Scotland Sterling and has a maker's stamp which we think is either C A J or O A J. We would have thought that this piece was early 20th century. The condition of the hardstone is very good and the silver mount also. There are no condition issues.
A large Tiffany inspired multicoloured enamel on silver orchid brooch, circa 1950. Width 52 mm, maximum height 58 mm. CONDITION REPORT: There is some damage to the enamel on this brooch. There are minor nibbles to the edges of the green petals, the larger loss across the bottom edge of the lower green petal. The losses are not substantial but are visible on close inspection. The purple and clear enamel appears to be in good condition and there are no losses to the marcasite.
A Royal Worcester coffee set, cased, each piece decorated with a stork, puce mark to base and with six spoons (5 + 1). CONDITION REPORT: Three saucers are in good condition with only very minor rubbing to the gilding. One saucer is in generally good condition but has a small scuff to the underside foot rim. Two saucers have hairline cracks both of which are discoloured and clearly visible. All saucers are a little discoloured and likely crazed when viewed with a magnifying glass. Four cups are in good condition with no damage, no repairs & no restoration. One has a substantial hairline crack running from the top lip right the way down to the foot rim. One cup has had professional restoration around the top of the handle. Over spray is clearly visible either side of this. Five spoons are silver and probably original, one is a later replacement.
* A silver mounted Vesta striker, Birmingham 1911. Height 8.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The silver rim and Vesta holder is loose in the glass mount. The silver is in generally good condition. The glass base is also in good order with only very minor surface blemishes. There are three very small minor nibbles to the bottom edge of the foot rim.
A pair of Queen Anne style silver baluster candlesticks, with detachable sconces, knopped stems and octagonal bases. Height 18 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: These are actually London 1898. The hallmarks are clear on the sconces and legible on the bases but a little rubbed. There are some very minor perforations. There are four on the sharp corners of the top knop on one candlestick. The same candlestick has three further perforations on the lower knop. The base is not perforated but there are numerous small dings and dents. The second candlestick has three small piercings through the top knop and three to the bottom. The bases however are in good order with the exception of minor dings and dents.
A pair of small Adam style silver candle holders, Harrison Brothers & Howson, Sheffield 1897 (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Both sconces are in good condition. Both urns are also in very good order. Both candlesticks do however have small perforations to the top of the small square beneath the urn. One candlestick has three holes, the other four. All are tiny. The remainder of the bases are in good order.
A Dunhill type silver cigarette lighter, London 1923. Width 5 cm, CONDITION REPORT: The date letter is H for 1923. The lighter is generally in very good condition and appears to operate as it should. There are no significant dents or marks to the piece. The only minor issue is the faint inscription to the body. The flint striker roller mechanism is seized solid.
A silver bonbon dish, Sheffield 1911, a small silver mounted photograph frame, a silver butter knife, three silver plated navette-shaped pedestal salts, a pair of silver sugar tongs, a silver mounted cut glass salt bottle, a silver propelling pencil and a silver mounted cut glass pepperette.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany canteen of cutlery, Rogers, Sheffield, twelve place settings. CONDITION REPORT: The canteen is 12 place settings but is not complete. There are 12 dessert forks, 11 table forks, 12 dessert spoons, 11 teaspoons, 1 pickle fork, 12 soup spoons, 6 tablespoons, 2 sauce ladles, sugar tongs, mustard spoon, soup ladle, gravy spoon, 1 salt spoon & 2 egg spoons. There are 12 dessert knives, but only 10 table knives. There are also 2 game carvers, 2 carving forks and a steel. The kniVes are not in particularly good condition. The blades are all significantly tarnished and require a very good clean. The ivorine handles are in the main discoloured and there are visible stress cracks to most of the ivorine handles. The steel has a large section of the ivorine handle missing. The silver plating is generally in reasonable condition on the remainder of the cutlery but there is some wear through to the base metal on the proud parts at the back of the spoons and at the end of the tines and backs of the forks. The overall condition can only be described as average.
A collection of miscellaneous silverware, including pair of silver spill vases, London 1901, height 15 cm, loaded, small salt and pepper, Birmingham mark modern, pair of silver mounted glass salts, London hallmarks rubbed, Vesta case, pen, model of a gun dog, condiment spoon, small funnel, nine serviette rings and bangle.
