85th Foot Victorian Officer's shoulder belt plate circa 1840-55. A fine example with cast silver mounts. Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver sprays of laurel and palm joined by ‘Nive' scroll; within the wreath an oval crowned silver strap inscribed "Aucto Splendore Resurgo"; to the centre, a silver strung bugle with "85" between the cords and a scroll flowing over the knot inscribed "The King's Light Inf". Tri-part scroll inscribed "Fuentes Donor Peninsula Bladensburg" to base. Two hooks and two studs to reverse, complete with original backing leather. 84th York and Lancaster Regiment of Foot Officer's shoulder belt plate circa 1830-55. A good example. Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver crowned ‘India' scroll and laurel sprays resting on ‘Peninsula' scroll. Within the sprays , a strap inscribed ‘York & Lancaster' encircling the Rose with the numerals ‘84' below. Across the base of the wreath, a scroll inscribed ‘Nive'. Prussian 1870 Iron Cross 2nd Class conversion. A good scarce example. Set within a silver rim Maltese cross, an iron centre bearing crown, W, and 1870; reverse bears crown, FW cypher, oakleaf spray and 1813, the date of the Order's inception. Suspension ring removed and four small loops fitted to reverse for wear as 1st Class. GC

Copper gilt rectangular plate mounted with silver tri-part honour scrolls to top and bottom; between, crown over laurel and palm sprays supporting strung bugle with ‘68' between the cords. Reverse with two hooks and two studs, complete with leather liner. Some wear to gilt (Parkyn 463)
18th Hussars Edwardian Officer's Mameluke Hilted Sword A superb and rare Officer's Mameluke hilted Levee pattern sword of regimental pattern. Curved unfullered blade with etched decoration depicting an Edward VII Crowned cypher and device incorporating the 18th Hussars in Roman numerals. Battle Honours for "Peninsular" and "Waterloo". To the forte the retailer's details of "Jones, Chalin & Dawson" London. Fine gilt cross guard bearing silver applied regimental device incorporating XVIII as seen on the blade. Two piece plain ivory grip with gilt floral head patteri. Housed in its original steel and ornate gilt brass floral mounted scabbard, fitted with two loose rings. Blade in fine condition, minor wear to plating of the steel scabbard. The lack of Boer War Battle Honours to the blade would date the sword Circa 1900-1905.
11th (Prince Albert's Own) Hussars Victorian Officer's Mameluke Hilted Sword by Wilkinson. A superb and rare attributed Officer's Mameluke hilted Levee pattern sword carried by Major H.S. Cayzer, who purchased the sword from Wilkinson in May 1898. Curved unfullered blade with etched decoration depicting a reversed entwined Crowned VR cypher and regimental device. Battle Honours for the Crimea and incorporating the original owners entwined initials. To the forte the cutler's details of Wilkinson and to the back of the blade the number "35884". Fine gilt cross guard bearing silver applied regimental device of a Sphinx resting upon a tablet. Two piece plain ivory grip with gilt floral head patteri. Housed in its original steel and ornate gilt brass floral mounted scabbard, fitted with two loose rings. Overall Near VGC. Major Harold Stanley Cayzer was commissioned into the 11th Hussars in 1901. He resigned his commission in 1913 only to be recalled the following year with the outbreak of the Great War. He served in France being promoted Major in 1915. Later that year he was would by an exploding shell. After recovering he served as a Staff Officer in Egypt. In 1935 he was appointed High Sheriff of Warwickshire.
Scottish. 26th (Cameronians) Foot Victorian Officer's shoulder belt plate circa 1843-55. A rare example. Gilt rectangular plate mounted with a gilt crowned laurel sprays superimposed on a silver Mullet bearing gilt circlet inscribed "Cameronians" surmounted by a Sphinx; "26" to the centre. Below ,a silver scroll "Corunna"; below the sprays a silver Dragon and "China" scroll. Two hooks and two studs to reverse. Mounts worn, sprays fracture and parts missing
49th Foot (Hertfordshire) Officer's shoulder belt plate circa 1820-42. A very fine and scarce gilt example. Rectangular plate mounted with silver crowned strap inscribed ‘Princess Charlotte of Wales's Regt.'; to the centre ‘49' over Union spray. Three scroll in surround ‘Egmont op Zee' ‘Copenhagen' and ‘Queens Town'. Two hooks and two studs to reverse. VGC (Parkyn 387) Under Cardwell's reforms became 1st Bn. Berkshire Regiment 1.7.1881
French Napoleonic Period Officer's Sabre. Possibly carried by an Hussar Officer, this example with single edged 33 inch plain blade. The hilt with single bar guard with floral decoration and ebony grip the latter with ribbed decoration. Housed in silver plated scabbard this with the cutler's / retailer's details of Paris engraved details.

Copper gilt rectangular plate with silver crown over ‘India' scroll, centrally the Royal Tiger on ground, below the Tiger a scroll, ‘Arabia' over ‘65'. 52nd (Oxfordshire Light Infantry) Regiment Victorian Officer's shoulder belt plate circa 1840-55. A good scarce example. Gilt rectangular back plate mounted with a multi rayed facetted silver star, the fourteen principal rays decorated with battle honours. Upon the star a gilt crown over a scroll "Waterloo" over a circular strap "Oxfordshire Light Infantry", on the domed centre gilt "52". Reverse retains two hooks and two studs. Gilt mount a little polished. GC

Burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with a silver hobnail star in turn mounted with gilt crowned laurel wreath bearing numerous honours with "Hindoostan" and "Orthes" below. Centrally a strap "of Herefordshire" with domed silver centre bearing gilt ‘36' over "Firm". Gilt worn on central numerals. Two hooks and two studs to reverse, complete with leather liner. Gilt rubbed and polished. GC

Rectangular plate with rounded corners mounted with 'Peninsula' over Sphinx on Egypt tablet over ‘Vimiera' above ‘50' and ‘Corunna' with ‘Almaraz' below. Small floral sprigs either side of ‘50' absent. Two hooks and two studs to reverse, complete with chamois liner. GC

Gilt rectangular plate mounted with a crowned gilt circlet inscribed "Veni et Vici" and "Hindoostan" with central silver Tiger resting within laurel sprays bearing honours "Ghuznee" and "Khelat" and central drooping "Affghanistan" scroll with silver "17". A late 19th century coromandel vanity box with vacant brass cartouche to top, fitted interior with five silver gilt engraved decorated topped glass pots, two similar glass jars and three perfume bottles, interior mirror and hidden letter holder, bottom frieze drawer with fitted jewellery box, 31 x 23 x 18cm. CONDITION REPORT The top of the box has two cracks running parallel to the grain, one small round pot has been re-glued, some tarnishing to silver gilt.
