Awarded to Lieutenant Stuart Riviere Calkin who served in France with the 14th (London Scottish) Bn London Regiment before being commissioned into the 1/8th (Cyclist) Bn Essex Regiment.Comprising: 1914/15 Star (3232 PTE S.R. CALKIN 14-LOND. R), British War Medal, Victory Medal (PTE 14 LOND R). Silver War Badge (46088) Pin absent. The medals are mounted as originally worn. Accompanied by miniature medal group mounted as worn Original Ephemera including 1917 Bombing Certificates Photographs. London Scottish badges including: Shoulder titles, Glengarry and sporran badges. etc. Lieutenant Stuart Riviere Calkin enlisted into the London Scottish in 1909 serving 3 years he was discharged in 1912, only to be recalled to the Colours in 1914. He landed in France on the 24th November 1914. He was selected for a commission and returned home being commissioned into the 1/8th Cyclist Bn of the Essex Regiment. He attended the Bomb School at Clapham Common in 1916 and qualified as a Bombing Instructor. 21st (Empress of India) Lancers Victorian Attributed Officer Lance Cap circa 1899-1901. Attributed to Captain Percy Hume Allfrey Anderson who was Killed in Action 1915. This Victorian Regimental example bearing the plate introduced to the Regiment in 1899, with the Battle Honour KHARTOUM. The skull of black patent leather with the upper portion of French Grey Melton cloth, with gold gimp cord across the top and down the angles. To the left side is a gold bullion rosette with embroidered regimental device of a VR cypher onto a velvet ground. This supports a gilt plume cup and white stitched swans feather drooping plume. The gilt lance cap plate is mounted with silver Victorian crown Royal Arms, title scroll 21st LANCERS and single battle honour. Patent leather peak with gold bullion lines. Two gilt metal lion head bosses support chin chain with velvet backing. Leather sweat band and retaining part of the crimson silk lining with embossed stamp for Sandilands and Son London to the interior. Minor age wear and slight dulling to lace. Dusty now showing foxing to the plume. Housed in shaped Japanned metal storage/transit tin bearing carrying handle, hasp with staple and bearing engraved name plate P.H. ANDERSON 21ST LANCERS ... Plume housed in separate metal storage tin. (2 items) Captain Percy Hume Allfrey Anderson attended Harrow School from 1894 to 1897 and gained a commission into the 21st Lancers in 1900. From 1910 to 1914 he was serving as an instructor in cavalry tactics at Netheravon and at the outbreak of the Great War rejoined his regiment at Rawal Pindi India. He was Killed in Action leading his Squadron during a charge against the mohmands of Sheb Kador on the Punjab Frontier on the 5th September 1915. Gordon Dine Collection. Silvered rose head bosses support the velvet lined chinchain; lion mask and hook to reverse. Front bears crowned laurel sprays enclosing mounted fretted LEICESTERSHIRE MILITIA circlet and VR cypher to lightly domed centre. Housed in its original japanned shaped transit / storage tin complete with carrying handle, hasp and staple. Slight age wear and minor stitching faults but generally VGC. Leicester Militia Georgian Officer Regency shako circa 1822. Fine important example of bell shaped black beaver with patent leather dished crown and peak. The body ornamented with 2 inch silver lace of regimental pattern around the top and lower body strap. Crimson cloth lined crown and with wide crimson Morocco leather sweatband. The crown bearing white over red drooping plume with long whalebone stem. Silvered lion head bosses support the velvet lined graduated chin scales. Front bears silvered Garter star mounted with gilt crowned LEICESTER MILITIA strap and centrally voided silvered GR cypher. The chinscales rise diagonally across the front to be fastened around the black velvet cockade with central domed silver button (bearing star, title and 36) adorning the silver lace around the crown. Bedfordshire Regiment Officer Home Service Helmet and Uniforms A collection of uniforms worn by Second Lieutenant Cyril Richard Lydekker of the 5th Bn Bedfordshire Regiment who was killed in action on the 15th August 1915 during the second assualt on Kidney Hill Gallipoli. Comprising: A good example of an Officer post 1902 Home Service Pattern blue cloth helmet. The helmet is complete with silvered metal cross piece, spike and rose bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a silvered metal helmet plate to the centre the regimental device on a field of black velvet. A gilt title ribbon The Bedfordshire Regiment. Leather sweatband to interior with crimson silk edging. Tailor stamp of F W Flight Winchester. Paper label with the name Lydekker. An 1880 pattern scarlet tunic with white facings to the cuff and collar. The collar is with silvered badges and bullion lace. Plated shoulder cords with single rank star. Complete with silvered buttons of Regimental pattern. Tailor label Flights and ink name . Scarlet remains fresh, Very good condition. Accompanied by overalls of dark blue cloth with scarlet line. Again with tailors' label. Crimson waist belt, tailored with two tassels. Web sword belt, retaining both silver lace sword slings. Forage Cap This tailored by F W Flight, dark blue cloth with scarlet piping to the welt of the crown. Complete with correct pattern regimental cap badge and with leather sweatband and lining cloth to the interior. Scarlet mess jacket and waist coat. The jacket with white facings to cuff and white piping to the collar. Complete with bullion rank star, and silvered buttons. Tailor label and ink name. Waist coat of regimental pattern. Scarlet fresh. Also a pair of regimental pattern overalls The overall condition is good, scarlet remains bright and fresh, some toning to the badges. (9 Parts). Second Lieutenant Cyril Richard Lydekker was commissioned into the 5th Bn Bedfordshire Regiment on the 14th March 1914. He embarked with the 5th Bn and landed at Gallipoli on the 11th August 1915. He was killed in action four days later. His brother Lieutenant and Quartermaster Gerard Owen Lydekker, was also to loose his life and died whilst on service on the 14th June 1917 PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER ONLY

Queens Own Dorset Yeomanry attributed Officer tunic. Good scarce Hussar pattern full dress tunic of dark blue melton cloth,with scarlet facings to the collar and cuffs. To each breast six silver bullion gimp cord drop loops with gimp purl buttons, loop and olivettes also with concealed hook and eye fasting. Retaining bullion shoulder cords these with gold button T badges. Gimp cord is repeated to the back of the tunic. The interior with quilted silk lining with tailor label of Sandon & Co. and faint ink name Sir Thomas Lees. One shoulder button and lower olivette absent, minor moth damage to the cuff, not effecting the overall appearance, bullion bright. Lieutenant Sir Thomas Evans Keith Lees. Educated at Eton and Cambridge. Inherited title in 1905 and joined QO Dorset Imperial Yeomanry and later 15th King’s Hussars. ADC to Lord Chemsford Governor of New South Wales, Australia. Commanded 2nd South Midland Mounted Brigade in the Dardenelles; severely wounded at Suvla Bay and died from them. Buried at sea. Commorated on the Helles Memorial. PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER ONLY

Fine scarce burnished gilt rectangular plate mounted with cut silver star, the principal rays overlaid in gilt and bearing battle honours. Mounted on the star, a gilt crowned title strap inscribed 1ST NOTTINGHAMSHIRE REGT; to the centre, gilt milled numerals 45 on a domed gilt ground. 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officer shoulder belt plate circa 1846-55. A splendid rare example of rococo pattern. Seeded gilt plate with raised border ornamented at the top by laurel leaves. Mounted on the plate, a cut silver star, each principal ray in gilt and bearing a battle honour. Mounted on the star, gilt laurel spray surmounted all what‘s going on a crown resting on a translucent red enamel scroll JAVA. To the centre, within a translucent red enamel circlet 2ND NOTTINGHAM, gilt LIX on a rich translucent red enamel domed ground. Reverse with two hooks and two studs. Minor restoration otherwise VGC.
