Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regiment) Victorian Officer's helmet plate circa 1881-1901. A very fine scarce rich gilt crowned star mounted with full laurel wreath and silver Maltese Cross with applied gilt oak wreath and scrolls THE DERBYSHIRE REGT to the arms of the cross. To the centre, a silver Stag lodged, set on translucent blue enamel ground. Mounted on the base of the laurel wreath, a silver bi-part silver scroll inscribed SHERWOOD FORESTERS. Three loops to reverse. Excellent. Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regimet) redesignated Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment) in 1902.

Reverse retains original hook and stud fixings, and bears Kirkwood thistle logo. Some service wear, traces of gilt only. GC

Rifle Brigade 19th century Officer's pouch belt plate circa 1823-55. Good scarce die-stamped unmarked silver example as worn in the Crimea. Laurel sprays surmounted by a Guelphic crown on Waterloo tablet; centrally a Maltese cross, lions between the arms which bear honours, within a title circlet, a strung bugle. Four shortened screw posts and complete with backing plate which bears a stout brooch pin. Slight service wear, GC.

The face mounted with gilt crowned laurel sprays bearing four silver scrolls PRINCESS ROYAL DRAGOON GUARDS; the centre with back prancing horse over silver foleate numeral 7. Complete with wallet, its internal closure tongue detached but present; tongue securing face to wallet present. Patent has congealed over the years, gold lace tarnished to silver. Dusty but GC.

Edwardian Cavalry Officer 1903 Silver Mounted Pouch. A scarce 1901-10 example, the silver flap by J & Co (Jennens & Co), the hallmarks for Birmingham 1903. The flap is mounted with a gilt metal crowned ER Cypher. The edge of the flap is with deep engraved floral decoration, the box is of red leather with two gold bullion lines and complete with silver hallmarked belt loops. Clean condition.

A magnificent large badge comprising a crowned oval silver NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSET strap with rich Royal blue domed translucent enamel centre mounted with silver SCOTLAND CUP 1882. Stout hinged pin to reverse which is engraved G. HERBERT 1st K. A.V. Minor restoration to reverse otherwise VGC. The 1882 competition, held annually at Montrose Rife Gathering in August, was won by 1st Kincardineshire Artillery Volunteer Corps.

A good example of the Home Service Pattern blue cloth helmet attributed to Captain Frederick St. John Barton a veteran of the Boer War, who was Killed in Action at the Battle of Nasiriyah 1915. The regulation home pattern service helmet was tailored by F.W. Flight of Aldershot. Complete with gilt metal cross piece, spike, spine and rose bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a post 1901 regimental helmet plate with an applied silver scroll THE HAMPSHIRE REGIMENT. The interior with a leather sweatband, edged with crimson silk. Small paper label 2Lt J BARTON. Overall GC. Accompanied by a metal storage tin with engraved name plate F StJ BARTON THE HAMPSHIRE REGT. GC (2 items) Captain Frederick St. John Barton was born in Australia and volunteered for service with the 5th Australian contingent, transferring to the Rhodesian Artillery and on recommendation of the Governor of Victoria, he was commissioned into the 2nd Bn Hampshire Regiment in 1900. He was awarded the QSA 4 clasps and KSA 2 Clasps. Remaining with the Regiment at the outbreak of the Great War he held the rank of Captain The Battalion then serving in India it was posted to Mesopotamia. He was Mentioned in Despatches for services in Euphrates and was Killed in Action at the Battle of Nasiriyah 24th July 1915.

To the front, a gilt metal regimental pattern plate, with a silver tri-part scroll THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT. To the centre the Sphinx resting on a tablet inscribed Egypt set onto a leather ground. Complete with leather sweatband. Tailor details of Hawkes & Co. Overall GC, but with a split to the front peak edging. Back badge absent, but evidence that one was fitted. Only one plate has been fitted to the helmet.
Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Officer's cased cocked hat and epaulettes. A good group attributed to Captain Terence (Pablo) Gerard Vaughan Percy OBE DSC Fleet Air Arm Pilot. Comprising: fine black beaver skin cocked hat, to the left side a black silk rosette with a single twist loop mounted with a gilt post 1901 gilt button to the centre. The interior is with leather sweatband and silk pleated lining. Tailor,s label for Gieves London ... Full dress bullion epaulettes with silver bullion fouled anchor (no tassels. worn by junior Officers). Housed in the original black tin transit/storage box. The lid with painted name of T.G.V. Percey RN. Near unused condition, bullion bright. Lid hinges broken. Captain Terence "Pablo" Gerard Vaughan Percy OBE DSC was appointed a Midshipman in 1937 and Acting Sub Lieutenant 1940 Qualifying as a Pilot he commanded 848 Naval Air Squadron on the carrier HMS Formidable and in 1945 operating against the Japanese was awarded the DSC. Remaining with the Royal Navy in the post war years he was appointed Captain and awarded the OBE.
