A LARGE CHINESE SILVERED BRONZE INCENSE BURNER AND COVER, DING, WARRING STATES PERIOD 475-221 BC The cover with three ring lugs which act as feet when inverted, the body with upturned handles and decorated with interlocking geometric bands, raised on three tall feet, the interior with extensive malachite encrustations, a later wood stand inlaid with silver wire, 41cm across. A CHINESE LACQUER AND MOTHER OF PEARL RECTANGULAR BOX 19TH CENTURY The hinged cover with a silver metal butterfly-shaped fitting, a loose ring handle to each end, inlaid with mother of pearl, the top depicting a scholar at a table beneath a maple tree, with a pair of geese on the water, the sides with fruiting and flowering branches, 17.6cm x 18.5cm.
A silver dessert spoon of unknown pattern, a variant of the Wellington shape, George Adams, London, 1863, together with an American silver pastry fork by Gorham, marked sterling, circa 1860. Wt. 81gm. Also a silver handled taper holder marked 925, a silver handled paper knife, London 1979 and a silver handled cake slice in presentation box.
