Wear to interior of gilt detail detail. Mirror clear but with scattered scratching.Small purple enamel box - some miniscule areas of loss to white enamel. Some small dents to the edge of the foot. Interior rim of base slightly out of true. Lid fits loosely.Turquoise box - appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. Lid sits well on base.

An Early 20th Century Continental Silver, Silver Gilt and Enamel Circular Box, with import mark for Gourdel Vales and Co. London 1911 and retailed by Asprey, the lid and sides with silver guilloche enamel and decorated with trailing pink flowers and green leaves, 3.625ins diameter x 1.125ins high, gross weight 7.7ozsCondition - The enamel to top appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration. To the side there is what appears to be a small 'ding' to the lower part just to the right of the catch. This measures approximately 2mm in diameter. The silver appears to be in good condition. There is a trace of gilt finish both to the catch and hinge, and a few small spots elsewhere, particularly to the lower part of base suggesting that the exterior may have been gilt originally. Silver sides with some very light scattered scratching.There is a very small dent to the lower part of the base at the junction of side and underside. The underside of the base shows some typical light scattered scratching/wear. The Asprey is engraved to underside. The gilt detail to interior appears to be intact. The catch works well and the intact hinge shows no play and also works well.

Enamel to side shows two areas of loss to lower part of body, one measuring approximately 3mm x .5mm, the other approximately 5mm x 2mm. This larger area of loss shows an associated hairline fracture just beyond the left end of this area of damage. The silver base appears to be in good condition. Catch works well, as does hinge which is tight. Gilding to interior is intact.

There also appears to be some cellulose spray to the enamel suggesting an area of restoration. The extent of this cannot be determined. Externally the gilding appears intact, apart from the underside of base where there is some wear. Catch and hinge work well. Internally the gilding is intact. There is a small dent to the interior of base.

The catch and hinge are good. The hinge has some slight lateral movement.

There appears to be a very small miniscule area of green enamel close to the edge of the enamel at approximately 5 o'clock. Very small nick to silver, lower edge/base at back of box. Catch and hinge both work well. Gilt detail to interior is intact. Externally some very light scratching/wear to the underside of the box.

One small dent/'ding' to silver at base of one corner. Some light scattered scratching/denting to underside of box. Catch and hinge both work but lid very slightly distorted so that it doesn't sit along the front three edges, the gap under the catch being approximately 1mm at centre.

London 1923, the lid decorated with a basket of forget-me-nots hanging from a pink ribbon within pale yellow guilloche enamel border and sides, the base inscribed with four line verse, 2ins diameter x .5ins high, gross weight 1.4ozsCondition -  Small area of enamel missing just above the hinge, measuring approximately 5mm x 1mm. The lid does not close correctly, creating a gap which at its widest at front in area of patch measures approximately 6mm. Catch does not engage. Hinge has lateral play. Underside of base inscribed with four line verse and interior of lid inscribed 'Eve Aug. 1924'.
