Contemporary red satin binding, embroidered with an overall design worked in silver thread and coloured silks, the upper cover with a central roundel containing a stylized carnation, the surrounding design of scrolling foliage worked in silver with small polychrome buds and flower heads, the flat spine divided by worked thread into five compartments, each containing a polychrome flower spray, g.e. gauffered and painted in red with a stylized floral design (rubbed, hinges splitting, small areas of damage to embroidery, small areas of silver thread lacking or damaged, ?lacking preliminary blank).
