A silver tea caddy of classical form, Sheffield 1922, inscribed to Mr R Pickthall from Roedean School 1940-1945. 13 cm high. NOTE: In 1940 with the threat of invasion on the south coast part of the school relocated to Keswick and stayed in three hotels in the town. The silver tea caddy is sold with The Roedean School magazine from 1940, 1946 and 1944.
A collection of silver and plated bijouterie, to include sugar tongs, clock keys, crochet hooks and a miniature penknife. (The bladed product in this lot is not for sale to people under the age of 18. By bidding on this item you are declaring that you are 18 years of age or over. Please note that if you require P&P for this lot, this can only be done using an age verified method). CONDITION REPORT: This is a bijouterie lot of +/- 18 assorted items. All are in reasonable condition but any buyer would need to inspect each one individually or buy on the premise that they are all in used condition.
A silver hallmarked novelty dog cigar cutter, 4 cm high. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This cigar cutter is in working order. The mechanism works and it opens and closes smoothly. There is a rough finish and edge to the lower torso of the dog, also pitting and discolouration in some areas. Overall in used condition.
A silver mounted cigarette dispenser, bridge markers etc. CONDITION REPORT: There are a number of items in this lot. There is a small fruitwood box with a missing clasp. The mounted cigarette dispenser has been used over the years. The oak super structure is stained in many places as you would expect. The plated edge is intact but again shows many signs of use. The inner box lifts in and out freely and easily. The base is stained. The other items in the lot also show signs of wear in line with age.
A Victorian cranberry glass perfume bottle, with floral engraved white metal top, together with three further perfume bottles. Largest 12.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The double ended scent bottle with the foliate engraved caps is in generally good order. There are minor nibbles to the sharp edges of the glass but no significant issues. The sprung lid operates as it should. There should probably be a glass stopper which is not present. The other side simply screws off to a cork lining. The second faceted scent bottle is missing the sprung lid. The other side is missing the small glass stopper beneath the silver screw cap. There is a chip to the top edge of one facet and other very minor nibbles. The egg shaped scent bottle is in generally good order. The top snaps shut as it should. The interior glass stopper is missing and there are nibbles around the top of the flask only visible with the lid open. The brasswork is a little tarnished. The main body of the piece is in generally good order with no significant issues. The ceramic flask is in generally good order with no issues other than minor rubbing to the gilding.
A George III silver gilt vinaigrette, Birmingham 1816 maker Samuel Pemberton. 4.5 cm wide. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The vinaigrette is structurally complete. Both the lid and the pierced floral fretwork lid open smoothly. There is a lot of ingrained dirt to the edges and hinges. There are small indentations apparent in places particularly to the edge of the lid. Some ingrained dirt throughout. In used condition.
A collection of silver thimbles, one in leather and velvet lined miniature trunk, together with three further cased brass thimbles one stamped Austria and a Treen acorn. CONDITION REPORT: There are a number of silver thimbles in this lots, three of which are significantly misshapen. The rest all show signs of use and wear, ingrained dirt, dents and scratches. They have obviously all been used for practical reasons. Three brass cased thimbles, all have significant discolouration to their cases, this comes out as a green and brown hue. Both trunks leather and wooden open and close securely, their latches work. The interior of the leather trunk has staining to the label and a complete blue velvet interior for the thimble.
A Victorian silver Vesta case Birmingham 1891, with engraved decoration. 5.5 cm high, together with a further six silver Vesta cases of various sizes. Gross weight +/- 157 grams. (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: All seven Vesta cases are in used condition. All have a functioning opening and closing lid. Four have significant dents. The rectangular Vesta case initialled N has indentation to the front and back as does a larger one initialled HH. Also the smallest rectangular Vesta case has a visible dent and loss to the left-hand side +/- 0.5 cm long. The rectangular Vesta case with rounded corners is also heavily dented on one side. All have some areas of discolouration. It would appear all have been used over time.
Miscellaneous silver including six silver handled small knives, five silver coffee spoons with bean finial, silver butter knife, four silver coffee spoons, two salt spoons, a pair of Victorian sugar nips and two silver photo frames, approx 6 x 8 cms and 15.3 x 16 cms respectively.
A Georgian scent bottle (tear catcher), with gilded decoration approx 21 cms in length together with two silver-collared tapering glass hunting flasks 21 and 17 cms respectively and one white-metal hunting flask by Swain & Adeney approx 21 cms. Included in this lot is a silver clothes brush and a silver hairbrush together with two silver topped vanity jars and a silver engine-turned canister approx 85mm h (af).

Collected in the early to mid-20th century, this collection consists of eight boxes, notation with most of the butterflies and varieties include the following: Graylings (different species), Small Heath, Alpine Heath, Albino Gatekeeper, Water Ringlet, Hedge Brown, Meadow Brown, Wall Brown, Speckled Wood, Fritillary including the Lesser Spotted, Mountain and Small Pearl Fritillary, Queen of Spain, Silver Washed Fritillary, Painted Lady, White Admiral, Red Admiral, Peacock Admiral, Grayling Woodland, Essex Skipper, Grizzled Skipper, Lulworth Skipper and Dingy Skipper amongst others, together with a large aluminium collection case and collection of butterfly books.
Silver matchbox cover embossed with three cherub, London 1902 mm W.C (William Comyns & Sons Ltd), measures approx 7 x 5 x 2.7cms, together with a pair of silver ice tongs marked HB Hester Bateman, silver plated sugar tongs, a silver table spoon marked London 1797, 6 silver teaspoons with decorative handles stamped ITALY, and a silver ladle inset with coin dated 1711, missing handle. Weighs approx. 221gms.

Each wine cup having a flared bowl embossed with fruit and flowers on a cylindrical stem with pinched decoration to the foot, the base of each wine cup engraved with a bishops mitre, crozier and shield enclosing a radiant heart, approx. h 9cms, weight 230 gms.
