MARCELLE FERRON (Quebec, 1924 - Monreal, 2001)."Composition".Mixed media on paper.Signed in lower right corner.Size: 47 x 51,5 cm.Marcelle Ferron was born in Louiseville, Quebec, in 1924 and died in Montreal in 2001. One of the most important Quebec artists of the 20th century, she was known as a painter, sculptor and stained glass artist.Marcelle Ferron enrolled at the École des beaux-arts de Québec (1942-1944) but dropped out before completing her studies. In 1946, she met Paul-Émile Borduas and enrolled at the École du Meuble in Montreal, where he taught. She was one of the last artists to officially join the group known as Les Automatistes. She was also one of the youngest signatories of the group's global manifesto Refus in 1948. She held her first solo exhibition in 1949 at Librairie Tranquille in Montreal. That year, she began to gain considerable recognition in the art world.Around 1953, Marcelle Ferron moved to France. There she rented a house in Clamart, a suburb of Paris, and set up her studio. Europeans appreciated her abstract works, full of light and life. During his stay, he took classes in Paris with Michel Blum (1964), a glass artist. He participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in galleries and took part in the art shows at the Salons d'Art Contemporains held at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris. During this time, he also exhibited his work in Canada, the United States and much of Europe, specifically Germany, England, Italy and Holland. She received a grant from the Canadian Council of Arts in 1957, an award from the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in 1960 and in 1961, she represented Quebec at the Sao Paulo Biennial in Brazil and won a Silver Medal, the first time a woman from Quebec had won this award.She was an internationally recognised artist who returned to Quebec in 1966. She devoted herself to working with glass for the next seven years. She created her first masterpiece in this medium, the windows of the Champs-de-Mars metro station in Montreal. In 1967, he began teaching at Université Laval in Quebec City. She taught Architecture from 1967 to 1970 and then Visual Arts from 1970 to 1979. During those years, she was elected Member of the Royal Canadian Academy.In 1973, she returned to painting full-time and exhibited her work in galleries and museums in Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Paris and Mexico, both in solo and group exhibitions. The first retrospective exhibition of his work was held in 1976 at the Musée d'Art de Joliette in Quebec. The following year, she was awarded the Louis-Philippe Hébert Prize. In 1983, she was the first woman to receive the Prix Paul-Émile-Borduas, the highest honour conferred on visual artists by the Quebec government. Two years later, she was named Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Québec. In 2000, she was named Grand Officier de l'Ordre National du Québec and a retrospective exhibition was held at the Musée d'art Contemporain de Montréal. She died a year later in Montreal at the age of 77.

Star Wars (1977) ( A New Hope ) - a reputedly production used cockpit fitment from the Millennium Falcon. The small resin fitment being a casting from a vintage Hella light (similar to a cockpit light from an aircraft), painted silver and on a resin base. Painted to appear as metal. Some paint loss from production use, and a small area scratching to the front. Mounted in a custom acrylic display case, with battery operated lights fitted. With a certificate of authenticity from Neil Harrison at Elstree Studios. A unique piece of Star Wars history. Total display size; 33cm x 33cm x 13cm.
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) - Naboo Blaster - An original production used Naboo Security Officer's blaster pistol from the movie. The security personnel of Captain Panaka (Hugh Quarshie) and Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman) used their blasters during the battle to reclaim Naboo's Theed Palace from the Trade Federation. The blaster is built on a casting of a Walther LPM-1 air gun, with various dress-up components, including faux scopes and attachments under the barrel. It is made of solid resin and finished in black, faux-silver and metallic brass paint, with wood-effect paint used for the pistol grip. A prototype hand guard, made for the production but ultimately unused, is fitted on the weapon's right-hand side. Displaying some wear to the paint from use, the piece remains in very good condition. Dimensions: 41cm in length. Provenance; originally obtained by the vendor from David Oliver at Propmasters.

Star Wars - Episode II Attack Of The Clones (2003) - Zam Wesell - a reputedly production used prop badge, from the costume of Bounty Hunter Zam Wesell (played by Leeanna Wasman). The prop badge of resin construction, featuring stylised emblem to centre. Painted in black and silver with artificial weathering. Remnants of the original foam backing present. Signed to the front by Walsman in black ink. Some signs of use from production, but generally in VG to VG+ condition. Measures approx; 8.5cm diameter. Provenance; supplied with two certificates of authenticity, one from Paul Harrison at Elstree Film Studios, which reads 'This is to certify that this is an original brooch from the Bounty Hunter Zem Wessell, worn and signed by the actress Leeanne Walsman and used in the 2002 movie Episode 2 - Attack Of The Clones.'
