An early vesta case, of straight sided oval section and engine turned, by Abraham Brownett, London 1863; two American embossed silver vesta cases; a silver book shaped vesta case with sprung cigar cutter in the spine, marks rubbed, Birmingham c1900; a French silver slim pillar shaped vest case engraved Jonathan Ware; a silver and blue guilloche enamel fenestrated vesta case, Birmingham 1916 (6) The blue enamel badly chipped; the book shaped example containing the cigar cutter heavily worn; the early vesta case with some light wear and signs of age but in overall good condition, the others also fine
Trompe l'oiel. A silver plated and enamel cigar box vesta case, unmarked; a figural whistle, foliate engraved silver; native silver with repoussé scenes, silver Far Eastern; crested, engraved silver, the reverse inscribed FOR BAYONET FIGHTING, Chester 1916 (4) Cigar box, enamel slightly chipped but of good heavy gauge and fine quality construction although unmarked. The bayonet fighting vesta case lightly bruised overall, the two other examples in fine condition
Art Nouveau. An embossed silver and turquoise enamel vest case , maker G H, Birmingham 1905; a silver heart shaped vesta case, foliate engraved, Birmingham 1906; a silver combination vesta/stamp case, engine turned, Birmingham 1905 (3) The combination vesta stamp case slightly worn and the catch a little defective, the two other examples in fine condition

A fenestrated silver vesta case, by W H Haseler Ltd, Birmingham 1923, rd 684101; nine mainly larger silver vesta cases, eight foliate engraved, the other dimpled, various makers, late Victorian/early 20th c (10) The first item somewhat worn and slightly dented, the remainder in fine condition
Embossed Brass. Twelve novelty vesta cases, including cigars, in a band stamped Havana, cowboy, birds, rats, Art Nouveau shells; an example inset with a silver 3d coin; one engraved with a trotting scene all late 19th/early 20th c Some probably originally plated and two retaining the plated finish, others such as the Art Nouveau example retaining almost all the original gilding

Six vesta cases, comprising large Chinese silver repoussé dragon and bamboo decorated example, marked, an embossed mermaid, stamped 925, a mixed metals 9ct gold and silver vesta case, Chester 1906; Anglo-American base metal, embossed with the TEMPLE BUILDING TORONTO and pill box type, advertising PERRY & CO LTD STEEL PEN MAKERS,; EPNS embossed scale pattern and a silver book match case All in fine condition

Second item - a snuff box which has been re-shaped at later date

A Victorian silver castle top vinaigrette by Nathaniel Mills, the lid die stamped with Windsor Castle, the underside engine turned, the sides reeded, in foliate chased borders and with engraved grille, 4.2cm w, maker's mark, Birmingham 1838 In excellent condition, no damage or repairs, the lid crisp and without wear, privately consigned from Croxton Abbey Staffordshire and in family ownership since the 19th century (Please see lot 593 for image)

A Russian silver gilt and cloisonné enamel spoon, the back of the circular bowl decorated with a Cyrillic inscription "I wish you a pleasant appetite" having spirally fluted, tapering stem with enamelled finial, 19cm l, marks somewhat rubbed, Moscow, probably 1889; a similar coffee spoon, maker's mark, probably by the 3rd Artel, Moscow 1908-17 (2) Apart from some very minute grazes to the enamel in one or two places, both in excellent condition, the first spoon of particularly heavy gauge and fine quality

A Portuguese miniature walnut bureau, with engraved silver heart shaped keyplates and brass furniture, having stepped interior, panelled sides and three moulded serpentine drawers, 30cm h; 30 x 20cm, 18th c The mouldings on the top and sides stained to resemble coromandel, the interior lacking two of the small drawers, another of the drawers with a diagonally cracked and repaired front. The three drawers to the front with replaced blind brass locks to the interiors, of pleasing colour and unusual
