A solid silver chatelaine with five chains, 1865, the plaque reading 'The Order of the Knights of Burgundy, by the Naval Council' and 'Honour, Secrecy, Charity', monogrammed 'ETB'; together with two black velvet purses with ornate silver frames, the first with cherubs, the second with mermaids and birds (3) CONDITION REPORT: Good condition. Splitting/fraying to velvet pouches, stitched repairs.
Two pairs of ivory satin pumps, the first c.1820-30, by Schenck of Germany and R.St Denis, 374, Paris, with chisel-toes, the remains of metal strip and floss silk embroidery; the others c.1830 with rounded chisel toes and large silk rosettes, and a fragment of similar metal strip embroidery taken from a dress (5) CONDITION REPORT: ·Schenck pair - lovely trade label, both with creased satin from poor storage. Left shoe is missing most of the silver strip embroidery from the toe, small rust spots in satin, satin on side is generally soiled in appearance, gold edging braid is partially detached, ribbon ties intact. Right show has remains of silver strip embroidery, lacking ribbon ties, gold braid is detached on one side, small hole in satin on side, satin is soiled generally down both sides above sole area, small vertical split in satin at heel. ·Ivory satin pumps with rosettes - rosettes are slightly crushed from storage, marked in ink to kid insoles 'gauche', 'droite', elasticated ties have lost their stretch. Nick to satin on upper edge, heel area left shoe. Very slight soiling to outside right side of satin also. Right pump - pinhole to heel area of satin, slight soiling to right outer edge above sole. 2 lengths of modern black tulle mounted with silver strip embroidered which was probably take from the matching dress, one panel is bodice shaped - very bright and lustrous

An elaborate red and blue silk theatrical robe, Chinese, 19th century, with densely embroidered cloud collar and fringing, large Phoenixes in floss silks to rear sleeves and striped sleeve bands with couched gold threads, 132cm, 52in from rear neck to hemThe Metropolitan Museum of Art has a similar example within it's collection, believed to have been worn by a performer playing a princess or a palace concubine, accession number 30.76.12a, b. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition overall - colours are good although slightly faded in places, not immediately obvious. First layer of cloud collar would have had silver embroidered edges which have eroded. A couple of tiny soil marks to turquoise collar band left side. Fading to centre back collar just below neck area. Robe has been shortened by putting a pleat in the fabric and tacking down. The fabric seems to be still inside the lining, however it looks as though it was cut. Ribbons on sleeve edges are generally worn. Interior lining is fraying at neck. One detached tassel (we have it).
A brocaded silk baby bonnet, circa 1750-60, adorned with bands of metal bobbin lace with fontage-like scallop to the front CONDITION REPORT: Metal threads have tarnished, silver threads in the brocade have thinned. Gilt bobbin lace has tarnished as has the metal strip braid that crosses the brocaded silk crown. The silk brocade had lampas weave metal threads and these have slightly eroded. Lined in simple cotton.

A couture beaded nude chiffon flapper dress, circa 1929, intricately worked with silver and white seed beads radiating from central 'flame' to front bodice, bust 86cm, 34in, waist 86cm, 34in; with associated peach silk slip (2) CONDITION REPORT: Dress: beading is mainly intact and good, occasional losses. 'Fresh' in appearance. Shoulder straps have been shortened by folding over. Split in chiffon at left and right hip, easily repaired. Two small triangles of original beaded chiffon have been inserted at the underarms, perhaps for modesty. Bodice has been taken in approx 1cm at each side, tapering to waist. Several hand stitched repairs to interior along the lines of larger silver beads, not visible to exterior. Repair along beaded panel at left breast. Slip: one strap is split, the other very fragile, has been altered.

A Chanel couture cocktail suit, 1963, labelled and numbered 18145, the sleeveless dress with ivory and silver lamé bodice, ivory bouclé wool skirt, self-covered buttons, the loose jacket with chain to hem, bust 92cm, 36in (2) CONDITION REPORT: Jacket: one sleeve has been relined, one sleeve in need of relining, otherwise fresh and good. Dress: exterior is good, bodice lining with faint perspiration rings and a split. Skirt lining has been replaced, a few holes in this above rear hem area.
A Thea Porter chartreuse chiffon ensemble, 1970s, labelled 'Thea Porter Couture', the blouse and skirt with Indian-style embroidery and spangled with silver sequins; original tie belt, bust approx 36in, waist 28in (3) CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, a couple of floating threads to embroidery on blouse (minor), light brown stain at rear of right cuff. Very fresh.
