A E Jones's work was sold by many retail companies and some chose to use their own retail mark on his pieces. All orders given to Jones by Connell's had to be marketed under G L Connell Ltd.

A silver teaspoon and napkin ring,by Bernard Instone, Birmingham 1927,each spot hammered and set with a turquoise paste cabochon, in a fitted caseBernard Instone (1891-1987) was born in Birmingham and developed an interest in jewellery and silversmithing from an early age. He had a brief spell training in Berlin before returning and joining John Paul Cooper's workshop. After the war he then set up his first company, Langstone silver works, in 1919. He proceeded to supply clients such as Sibyl Dunlop and Liberty's and continued working until his retirement in 1963.

CONDITION REPORT: Good overall condition, corresponding hallmarks to head, jaw and vinaigrette cover.

(2) Provenance: The late Thomas John Wynn, 5th Baron Newborough and thence by decent. This pair of fruit bowls were housed at Glynllifon, Gwynedd, Wales, ancestral home of Lord Newborough. CONDITION REPORT: Both in fine condition.
