A mid 19th century Russian silver, silver gilt niello and engraved snuff box of rectangular form, both the hinged lid and base decorated with Russian palatial buildings with gilded interior, 7.75 x 4.5 x 1.7cm, approx 2.55ozt/79.4g.Additional InformationThere is the 84 stamped mark to both hinge and lid, also A.K 1845 to the base and to both the lid and base indistinct initials in an oval AB?. The gilt has worn a little to the base section as it is bright at the top, some of the niello has worn noticeably to the sides, the top is very slightly sprung.
An Edwardian hallmarked silver hip flask of small proportions, the hinged swivel action cap above rounded rectangular body engraved with a crest and inscribed 'Virtutis Fortuna Comes', London 1909, 9.5cm, approx 2.14ozt/66g.Footnote: The motto is that of the 12/16th Hunter River Lancers, an army reserve unit based in Northern New South Wales, Australia. There are several other pieces of military inscribed silver from the same source in the sale and is therefore possibly connected.Additional InformationA few small dents and small creases to the body of the flask but no splits, a dent to the cap but the hinged action work well, still has the cork stopper. Surface tarnishing and toning throughout, makers mark very slightly obscured.

Tarnishing and toning throughout but the glass inkwells are in good condition with if being ultra critical a couple of tiny chips to raised parts. Slight compression mark to one of the lids of the inkwell but inkwell are correct for the stand. Overall in good condition.
