Chinese late Qing dynasty export silver tea set, the bodies are divided into six petal shape panels, chased and embossed with "The Four Gentlemen" - plum blossom, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo, as well as peony and crane; handles, lids and spout in bamboo style, with Shao Ying Tang company mark on base. Teapot 6 1/4" h x 10 1/4" w, 16.4 troy oz, sugar pot 4 3/4" h x 6 1/2" w, 8.8 troy oz, creamer 3 1/4" h x 5 1/2" w, 6.0 troy oz, round tray 13" dia, 25 troy oz, total 56.2 troy oz. Provenance: from a Massachusetts estate.
An 18th/19th Century South American, silver mounted Gourd Flask incised with elaborate decoration; flowers, foliage and figural panels. The silver metal collar having a scalloped edge and engraved with the initials 'L' and 'F.G' amongst further flowers and foliage, 10½ (26.5 cms) in height.
A Large Augsberg Silver Mounted Ivory Tankard of fine quality. The ivory body richly carved in relief with a continuous allegorical scene and mounted on a silver foot embossed with face masks spewing scrolls of trailing acanthus entwined in strapwork on a matted ground. The domed lid with similar decoration, a gilt interior and carved ivory surmount in the form of a plumed helmet. 16 ins (41 cms) in height. An Early 18th Century Tortoiseshell Veneered Casket with engraved silver metal corner mounts and scallop edged border straps. The slightly domed lid opening to reveal a painted interior with mirror. Standing on small silver metal ball feet, 5½ ins (14 cms) high, 10¼ ins x 7¼ ins (26 cm x 18.5 cms).
A Late 17th Century Dutch Ebony & Satinwood, Silver mounted Marriage Casket. The hinged lid surmounted by a raised section with sliding top enclosing a shallow box compartment. The fitted interior housing small drawers flanking an arcaded centre below silver panels of engraved foliate scrolls enclosed by the fall front, with a mirror between further silver panels engraved with figures to the lid. The exterior having satinwood panels framed in ebonised borders with integral columns to the breakfront canted corners, 12½ ins (32 cms) high, 16¾ ins (42.5 cms) wide, 11¼ ins (28.5 cms) deep.
