A pair of Continental embossed silver coloured metal covered bar back chairs with ram's head decoration to the top rail, raised on sabre legs, 85 cm high CONDITION REPORTS One chair - the ram's heads are loose and wobbly. The metal trim is coming away in various places. On both, the metal has discolouring - a more yellow colour in various places. On the other chair the metal covering to one of the back legs is missing and has been repainted silver. Both have general wear and tear condudive with age and use. Split to the frame on one of the chairs. The seats fit but are a little bit gappy. Wear and tear. See images for more details.

A 19th Century Burmese sword dha, curved, shallow fullered blade 26", slight swollen towards point, silver damascened for its full length on both sides, with a pommel depicting seated warriors and sages, a dog chow, foliage and inscriptions, zig zag panel along the top edge, sheet silver covered hilt, the central panels depicting figures of male and female deities, plain darkwood ball pommel, it its plain sheet silver panelled scabbard in eleven sections. An early 19th century DB 16 bore sporting gun by Forsyth & Co, apparently originally made with Forsyth’s Patent “scent bottle” primers, converted to conventional percussion, and then re-converted more recently back to “scent bottle” primers; 45½” overall, twist barrels 30½” with 2 gold lines at the breech, the top rib engraved “.... & Co. PATENT GUN-MAKER.LONDON” (faint), the undersides numbered 1177 and 1178, and with traces of London proofs; the locks engraved with scrolled foliage and “FORSYTH & CO. PATENT”, the oblong apertures for the locking spring filled, and the hammers replaced; the “scent bottles” give the appearance of being genuine, but are un-numbered and are far too crisp compared with the general condition of the gun; the walnut halfstock having chequered fore-end and wrist, silver barrel-wedge plates, steel mounts including large scrolled trigger guard engraved with a hound and with pineapple finial, and with padded leather cheek piece. GWO & QGC (worn overall, ramrod pipe re-soldered, the butt plate cut away to reveal two large holes for tools (?), the hammers fail to make contact with the striker pins). £500-600

A Belgian 6 shot 9mm Chamelot & Delvigne double action pinfire revolver, c 1865, number 1764, octagonal barrel 107mm (4¼”), the breech marked “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE INon Btee”, Liege proved, the barrel having simple silver line inlay, the cylinder and frame engraved with chequered panels inlaid with silver borders and pique studs, with sliding ejector rod, folding trigger, bag shaped butt with plain ivory grips, and lanyard ring. A brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistol with spring bayonet, c 1820, 7¼” overall, bell mouth barrel 3¼” with octagonal breech, and with 3¼” spring bayonet beneath released by sliding trigger guard, Birmingham proved, the frame nicely engraved with trophies of flags and drums, and signed “MABSON & LABRON” in scrolls, with top safety which also locks the frizzen and plain walnut butt with large oval silver escutcheon. A mid 19th century scrimshaw walking stick, the straight haft of worked narwhal tusk, with marine ivory handle in the form of a clenched fist emerging from a cuff, separated from the haft by a broad band of alternate polished wood and horn discs, with a narrow silver band at top and bottom, 34" overall. A good double barrelled 36 bore over and under turnover percussion boxlock pocket pistol, by Rigby of Dublin, 6" overall, turn off barrels 1½”, the muzzles starred for barrel key, finely foliate scroll engraved breeches and frame, signed in gothic script “Wm & Jn Rigby, Dublin”, the lower grip strap numbered 9954, with engraved hammer, hidden trigger, and rounded partly chequered walnut butt with silver escutcheon and small oval silver butt cap. Nock, c 1800, 9½” overall, octagonal twist barrels 4¾” engraved “LONDON”; flat stepped locks with safety bolts, rainproof pans and roller on frizzen springs, signed “H. NOCK”; walnut fullstocks with rounded chequered butts, rectangular silver escutcheons, steel mounts including engraved trigger guards with pineapple finials, and original horn tipped ramrods with iron worms. Good Working Order and in untouched Condition, with a pleasing patina. Plate 9 £1000-1500

A 6 shot 60 bore self cocking bar hammer percussion pepperbox revolver, by Wilkinson, 8" overall, fluted barrels 3½” with Birmingham proofs; with scroll engraved German silver frame and butt strap, signed “WILKINSON & SON, LONDON”, and numbered “164”; the bag shaped butt having plain dark walnut grips. Good Working Order and Condition (the nipples and hammer rest ring slighted knocked); in its original blue velvet lined fitted mahogany case with brass lid escutcheon, containing Sykes copper powder flask, steel pincer mould (worn), turnscrew, pewter oil bottle, small cap tin (worn), bristle brush, and key to case.  A pair of 34 bore double barrelled over and under percussion boxlock side hammer pistols, by Wilkinson, 7" overall, barrels 2½” with swivel ramrods and London proofs, the top flats signed “WILKINSON, LONDON”; scroll engraved frames with safety bolt, and “elephant trunk” hammers; finely chequered walnut grips with rectangular silver escutcheons and steel butt caps with trap. GWO & C (slight bruising to one side of one grip); in their original green baize lined brass bound fitted oak case, with brass lid escutcheon, having trade label of James Wilkinson & Son, 27 Pall Mall, London, containing a short loading/cleaning rod, French copper flask embossed with leaves and tendrils, with central panels depicting a goat beneath a tree, nipple key (AF), and key to the case.
