An Indian shikari hunting knife. Mid-19th century, straight DE blade 31cms stamped ARNACHELLUM SALEM, fitted with a Burmese ivory hilt carved with a demonic figure, silver ferule, in its tooled leather sheath. G.C. (chape missing). A Third Reich Mothers Cross in silver (tarnished), in its case with ribbon, the lid with impressed cross, the lining stamped “Friedrich Linden, Ludenscheid”; a medal for 13th March 1938, with ribbon and suspender, in its case with eagle and swastika on the lid; a medal for 1st October 1938 in its box (no ribbon, lid detached); and a grey metal (silver ?) wound badge, the flat back with “L/57” maker’s code (Karl Hensler, Pforzheim), in its box, the lid marked “LDO”.
