The gilt has worn a little to the base section as it is bright at the top, some of the niello has worn noticeably to the sides, the top is very slightly sprung.

There are several other pieces of military inscribed silver from the same source in the sale and is therefore possibly connected.Additional InformationA few small dents and small creases to the body of the flask but no splits, a dent to the cap but the hinged action work well, still has the cork stopper. Surface tarnishing and toning throughout, makers mark very slightly obscured.

M.A.R.D on resigning the rural Deanery of Hodnet by the clergy of the Hodnet and Whitchurch Deaneries', London 1899, width 23.5cm, depth 15.5cm, approx 19.5ozt/606g.Additional InformationThe back of the inkwell also has an engraved panel featuring an elephant beside a squirrel. Tarnishing and toning throughout but the glass inkwells are in good condition with if being ultra critical a couple of tiny chips to raised parts. Slight compression mark to one of the lids of the inkwell but inkwell are correct for the stand. Overall in good condition.
