Ltd., Chester 1913, diameter 4.5cm., depth 1cm., 51gr., good condition appropriate to age, wear to the exterior of case and engraving. The tape itself is damaged at 2cm, it is separated from the rest of the tape which is inside the case, possibly repairable, case bearing surface scratches.

Condition is good with obvious surface scratches to tankard, there is a dent is the lower side of the handle and it is tarnished.Just three years later Chipp would lose out to Lawford in the rounds at Wimbledon and later become a respected tennis author and administrator.

He also runs a tennis academy near Munich. Professional champions such as Stich, Djokovic, Gulbis and Sevastova have developed through the Pilic academy. In 1994 he was elected an honorary member of the Professional Golfers’ Association.

Horace Rawlins 1895 US Open winner silver cigarette case, of rectangular form, obverse with foliate decoration and engraved HORACE RAWLINS, reverse engraved 1895 US OPEN NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND NEWPORT GOLF CLUB USGA, Birmingham 1920 by F.D., 85gm., 8.5 by 7cm., minor wear, tarnishedThe silver hallmark of 1920 would suggest that this was a 25th anniveray commermoration of Rawlins's 1895 US Open victory. Horace Rawlins (1874-1935) professional golfer, won the first US Open Championship at Newport Country Club, Rhode Island on 4th October 1895 by two strokes over 36 holes, defeating Willie Dunn. He finished second in the 1896 US Open played at Shinnecock Hills GC on 18th July. He did played on the 1897 US Open Championship, resulting in a tied eight place. Rawlins was involved in golf course design, having worked on The Springhaven Club in Pennsylvania.

The property of Falmouth Rugby Football Club and originally owned by their England international fullback John Jackett: an historic New Zealand 'Original All Blacks' shirt worn in the Test Match v England played at Crystal Palace 2nd December 1905,neck label inscribed WALLACE & GIBSON, THE KASH, NEXT EVENING POST, WELLINGTON, silver fern badge, canvas overlay to the shoulders and upper chest and back, leather neck line extending down the lacing-v, black colour very good, original lacing, tear & period repair to middle of back from neck line and also small period repaired tear across right collar bone, right sleeve un-seamed along most of length, various hole punctures to bodyThe Original All Blacks, also simply known as "The Originals" were the first New Zealand national rugby union team to tour outside Australasia. They toured the British Isles, France and the United States of America during 1905-1906. Their opening game was against Devon on 16 September 1905 whom they defeated 55-4. Such was the surprise that some newspapers in Britain printed that Devon had scored 55 points and not the All Blacks.Edward “John” Jackett of Falmouth RFC was selected to make his England Test Match debut in the Test Match v New Zealand played at Crystal Palace 2nd December 1905. New Zealand won the match 15-0. Winger Duncan McGregor scored four tries, with Fred Newton scoring the other. Jackett swapped his shirt with one of the Original All Blacks, whose identity is unknown. The shirt remained in the Jackett family until the 1970s, at which time it was presented to Falmouth RFC.Jackett, who was born in Falmouth 4th July 1878, played in a total of 13 matches for England, his last appearance being in the 1909 Scotland match at Richmond. He also played for Cornwall who were essentially the Great Britain rugby team that competed at the London 1908 Olympic Games, being the reigning county champions. He was awarded a silver medal together with his elder brother Richard Jackett following the 32-3 defeat to Australia. John Jackett also toured with the 1908 British Isles team to New Zealand and Australia. In 1911 Jackett switched codes and played fullback for Dewsbury winning a Challenge Cup winner’s medal in 1912 following the 8-5 defeat of Oldham at Headingley.The New Zealand touring team went on to defeat every English side that they faced, including a 16-3 victory over English county champions Durham. As well as England they defeated the national teams of Scotland & Ireland and suffered their only loss of the 35-match tour when defeated 3-0 defeat by Wales at Cardiff Arms Park.The 1905 All Blacks tour of Britain went on to achieve legendary status within the rugby world and New Zealand in particular. They scored 976 points and conceded only 59, and thus set the standard for all subsequent All Black sides. The tour also saw the first use of the All Blacks nickname and established New Zealand's reputation as a world class rugby nation as well as the famous black shirt becoming an international sporting icon.

McCoy signed retirement tribute canvas with images and statistics, lettered WE'LL MISS YOU A.P. and featuring two large colour photo images of the legendary National Hunt jockey, one jumping a horse through the zero of 20 TIMES CHAMPION JOCKEY, the other his moment of Grand National celebration on Don't Push It, with comprehensive listings alongside of all his Cheltenham Festival wins, major National victories (including Scottish, Welsh, etc.) and other notable races won plus winning milestones (4,000th winner, etc.) and milestones outside racing, signed to centre of canvas in silver marker pen; 51 by 92cm.; sold with COA and photo proof of signing (2)Sir Anthony (Tony or 'AP') Peter McCoy (b Moneyglass, NI, 1974) is undoubtedly the greatest National Hunt jockey of all time, having ridden a record 4,358 winners and been champion jockey a record 20 consecutive times. He rode his first winner in 1992, aged 17, on the Flat at Thurles, before switching to jump racing. He won the conditional jump jockeys' title with a record 74 winners in his first season, was Champion Jockey for the first time in 1995-96 and then won the title every year until his retirement in 2015. McCoy has won almost every big race in the calendar including the Cheltenham Gold Cup, King George VI Chase and many others, but the Aintree Grand National eluded him until, at his 15th attempt, he won the great race in 2010 on Don't Push It, a victory which contributed to him being voted BBC TV Sports Personality of the Year. In 2016 he became the first National Hunt jockey to be knighted.

Substantial dents to rear of jug near the blank cartouche, two dents to front near inscription cartouche, pedestal base shows signs of squashing, hence leading slightly, cover does not close flush to the body, surface scratches, otherwise good condition. Poethlyn was the last of only four horses to carry the maximum weight of 12st. 7lb. to victory in the Grand National. Bred by Major Hugh Peel, owned by his wife and trained at Lewes by Harry Escott, Poethlyn had won the previous year's 'War Substitute' National at Gatwick, again ridden by Lester's grandfather Ernie Piggott, before the race returned to Aintree in 1919 when it was known as the 'Victory National'. Trophy for the 1926 Newmarket Town Plate, in the form of twin-handled silver cup, hallmarked William Hutton & Sons, Birmingham, 1924, 18.5 by 27cm. across handles, 580gr. and inscribed NEWMARKET TOWN PLATE 1926, WON BY STEPHANIA, OWNER MR H.A. ARMITAGE, RIDDEN BY IRIS RICKABY, TRAINER WALTER GRIGGS. Iris Rickaby, herself descended from a famous racing family, was Lester Piggott's mother. She is reputed to have said after her son's first winner "He is quite a good rider but will never be as good as his father. Don't make a fuss. Jockey's prize for 1957 Derby, won by Lester Piggott on Crepello, 9ct gold .375 miniature urn with lid, hallmarked Garrard & Co. Ltd 1958 on wooden plinth with silver plated band inscribed SIR VICTOR SASSOON'S CREPELLO, 1957 THE 178th DERBY STAKES, 13 by 9cm., 110gr., condition is good with little wear to the cup and cover, no obvious dents or splits, minor surface scratches, the base is good Crepello won the 1957 Two Thousand Guineas and then the Derby in which he beat the great Ballymoss, but never raced again after Epsom. He was 21-year-old Lester Piggott's second Derby winner.Provenance: from the Lester Piggott Collection.

Jockey's prize for 1957 Ascot Gold Cup, won by Lester Piggott on Zarathustra, silver gilt miniature two-handled cup with lid, hallmarked Asprey & Co. Ltd., Silversmiths, London 1958, engraved THE GOLD CUP ASCOT 1957 and to the reverse "ZARATHUSTRA  LESTER PIGGOTT", on black plinth, 14 by 9cm., 96gr. Zarathustra was bred in Northern Ireland in 1951 by Sir Harold Gray upon whose death the black colt passed into the ownership of his son Terence Gray, a writer, philosopher and theatre producer who was responsible for creating the Cambridge Arts Festival. Zarathustra won 13 races from five furlongs to two and a half miles but was especially effective over extended distances. The 1957 Ascot Gold Cup was his first race after two months' box rest following a broken cannon bone.Provenance: from the Lester Piggott Collection.
