A late 18th century silver teapot, initialled, of navette form, with engraved decoration, an ivory handle and an ivory finial, Hester Bateman, London 1789, approx. 16.115 ozt, 16.5 cm high See inside back cover colour illustration Condition report Report by RB From a local deceased estate. In a generally good and market fresh condition, initialled A E M to one side, no major dents or splits, the topper of the spout is sharp to the touch of a finger, the ivory finial and handle have a few splits, but are quite a pleasing colour. The base has a probable old repair. You might also be interested in lot 69.
A George III silver wine funnel, with a hedgehog crest, Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard, London 1824, approx. 4.905 ozt, 13.5 cm high See illustration Condition report Report by MW The end of the spout has a crease and there is also a small split. The main body has several small dents (shallow) but no splits. The hallmarks are visible and readable but rubbed. The inside of the funnel has lots of marks and the rim has several small nicks and marks. The strainer's bottom rim has several small indentations, one small flat area, small nicks and scratches from general use. The shell thumbpiece has been bent down making the upper rim misshapen and a small crease and dent is visible on the inside. There are other small dents and scratches visible inside of the bowl. No visible repairs. The gauze fits snugly into the main body of the funnel
A set of six Victorian silver fiddle pattern table forks, initialled, Robert, James and Josiah Williams, Exeter 1845, approx. 19.750 ozt See illustration Condition report Report by NG Confirmed weight is approx. 19.775 ozt Length approx. 20 cm. Maker's marks all match, as do hallmarks but dated 1845 not 1842 (as originally catalogued). Front of each fork initialled with an E. Some wear to tips of prongs, one fork with bent tines.

Forks with wear to tines and some bent. Spoons with wear to bowls, one with small but heavy dent.
A Victorian silver tankard, initialled, George Unite, Birmingham 1855, approx. 9.315 ozt, 14.5 cm high Condition report Report by MW The foot of the tankard is very very slightly misshapen. The rim has some small nicks where the item has been placed down heavily at some point. The inside of the rim has several marks where the piece has been made, and there is a small split visible on the inside of the rim. The hallmarks on the bottom of the tankard are clear. The ringed collar above the foot appears to be slightly compressed. The bowl of the tankard has engraved initials V C which are quite deep. There are no thin areas. The handle attachment can be seen in the inside of the bowl top and bottom. The top rim has several small nicks of general wear. The overall appearance of the tankard is very clean and has obviously been polished extensively during its life, and some of the scroll work on the C handle is not as defined or as crisp as it would have been new.
