SAPLINGS IN PLASTIC COATS. A group of five silver Sapling brooches with Japanese tiger wire, horsehair, red cord, & Japanese paper details. Longest 16.5cm without added detail. The five brooches are attached to a framed print of Jennie Hancox's original drawing for this series of Sapling brooches, 'Saplings in plastic coats along the motorway. The aim is not to convert people but to encourage them'.Size of framed work 45 x 32.5cm.
FLUTTER HEARTS. A two piece heart brooch 'My Other Half', in oxidised & unpolished silver with red & black Japanese tiger wire 'Veins'. One interior is black oxidised, the other blood red. Unstamped. Note: a similar two-part brooch was exhibited at Contemporary Applied Arts in London in aid of The British Heart Foundation's 'Mending Broken Hearts' appeal, 'Target the Heart.' The CAA invited 30 contemporary artists to exhibit, & the show ran from 20 January - 25 February 2012.
GARDEN SEAT BROOCH. A three piece Garden Seat brooch in unpolished silver & 18ct. gold. Gold section 6.5 x 2.9cm, approx 13.9g Note: These three separate elements, worn together, have been inspired by an old wooden garden seat. They are designed to be worn singly or together.
NECKLACES.Three necklaces: a wire necklace running through a silver & gold tube (adjustable); a thick gauge wire neck piece with black wooden 'bead' (length of bead 11.5cm.) & one other wire necklace with silver tube & silver & gold 'Pebble', attached (wire requires new terminals). All unstamped.
SILVER VASE. A hand raised silver vase, the foot initialled & with various dates. Indistinct label to the base reading, 'Intermediate Silversmithing..' Height 13cm. Approx 8oz. Note: Jennie Hancox's family believe this was a student piece made by Jennie to commemorate a family event.
