A GT WAR TRIO TO THE KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS. A 1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals in envelopes and boxes of issue named to 16062 Pte R Roughsedge K O Sco Bord. Robert Roughsedge served with the 8th Battalion KOSB in France from the 10th July 1915. The medal envelopes are addressed to Mr R Roughsedge, 5 Egerton Grove, Stratford Road, Hulme, Manchester. He was awarded a Silver War Badge List D/85 and discharged from service, under order (392) 28th April 1916.
A FIRST WORLD WAR GERMAN IRON CROSS AND MEMORIAL CUP. An Iron Cross, 2nd Class dated 1914, and silver memorial cup with a central cross engraved with the recipients name and the date 26th October 1917, with a citation to Segeant Jungling Joseph Kraus, 3 Company 6th Bavarian Infantry Regiment. The cup and cross mounted on card beneath photograph and citation. Kraus was killed by gas poisoning when in action fighting in Flanders on the 26th October 1917.

A SILVER CASED ARMY ISSUE POCKET WATCH. An open faced pocket watch, the black dial with seconds dial and marked 'Williamson' with 'glow in the dark' hands and numbers, with a bezel wound movement numbered 27029, the silver case similarly numbered and hall marked for London. The back of the case engraved with a government arrow and R.A. 73945 F.
A ROYAL NAVY PRESENTATION TORPEDO LAMP BASE. A presentation lamp base with a circular mahogany base with tablet engraves 'Presented to Commodore AJ Leahy MBE DSC, ADC on his retirement from the Royal Navy, Clyde Submarine Base May 1978'. The column of the lamp with silver plated base and top in the manner of a torpedo with propeller and fins, the column decorated with five dolphins swimming up the column. 70cm high, 20cm wide. Alan (Spiv) John Leahy (1925-1919) had a distinguished career with the Royal Navy not least as a pilot with the Fleet Air Arm who saw active service during the Korean War in Sea Furys.
TWO FAMILY FIRST WORLD WAR PAIRS TO A CANADIAN NURSE AND INFANTRYMAN. A Great War pair comprising 1914-15 and War medal named to Pte S.A. Guilbride 16 Can Inf, (the name on the War Medal as Guilbridge) with a silver identity bracelet and a similar pair named N.Sister P.Guilbride Can A.M.C. Private Samuel Arthur Guilbridge who was born in Ireland was initially reported as a casualty and on the 11th July 1915 this is changed to Prisoner of War served with the Manitoba Regiment of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was held as a prisoner of War in Germany being released back to England on the 19th of December 1918. Mrs Phyllis Guillbride, is recorded as Samuel's next of kin, perhaps his sister, she embarked on the hospital ship Dunluce Castle from Malta on the 8th of November 1916. As a Sister in the Canadian Army Medical Corps she travelled first class.
A VICTORIAN SEXTANT BY J. COOMBES, PROBABLY THE PROPERTY OF RM CAPTAIN DEAN. A sextant of six inch radius divided on silver and reading to 10", the scale signed J. Coombes, Optician & Admiralty Agent Devonport, in a fitted case with inset disc for Coombes and paper label for Henry Hughes and Son Marine Opticians, 59 Fenchurch Street, London, te lid with an examination label from the Kew Observatory dated July 1889. Engraved and highlighted in gilt W.P.N.Dean, the lid with a conforming tablet 'W.P.N. Dean R.N.' W.P.N Dean appears to be Royal Marine Captain William Percy Nelson Dean. Born 21/10/1901, enlisted 1/1/19 and reaching the rank of Captain by 1/1/1930. The sextant possibly originally the property of his Father Frederic William Dean who was also a Naval Officer who served in South Africa amongst other places. Possibly the sextant was presented by Father to son at the time of his receiving his commission in 1919. Sold with extensive research.

A FIRST WORLD WAR WAR BADGE TO THE TANK CORPS. A Silver War badge number B156900 awarded to H.S.Phelpe 304712 of the Royal Tank Corps. Private Harold Phelps served from 13th April 1917 until 17th March 1919 when he was no longer able to serve due to sickness. And a War Medal named to 3374 S.A.Ayre STO R.N.R.

Engraved to the reverse with a Warwick bear and staff, hallmarked for London 1911, Arthur and Frank Hedges (Vander and Hedges) c800g. The pistols with 20.5cm octagonal barrels engraved 'Fisher London' to the top edge, ramrods below, percussion cap firing actions with adjustable nipples, sliding safety behind the hammer, with engraved decoration to the side plate and hammer, with decorative 'silver' trigger guard, the walnut stock with finely cross hatched in four-cross in diamond pattern. Engraved Fisher to the side plate. 36cm overall. Contained in a fitted mahogany case containing a variety of tools and accessories including bullet mould, turn screw and other items. The case with flush fitting handle to the lid and ivory escutcheon, 7.5cm high, 48cm wide and 21cm deep.

19th century Chinese framed passport, granted to Joseph Stocker on 28th April 1887 and expires 29th April 1888, signed by William Scrope Ayrton (1849-1904) British Consular Official in China dated 28th April 1887 with a red stamp to the value of £1.1/2 dollars. This lot includes a silver open-faced pocket watch that belonged to Joseph Stocker which he received when he retired until his death in 1915. The pocket watch has a 5 cms white enamel face with Roman dial stamped JW Benson with second-hand aperture, London hallmark dated 1899. The watch back is engraved 'Presented to Mr J. Stocker by a few friends Royal Arsenal Woolwich 1900'. Mr Stocker was a marine engineer working in the Merchant Navy.This passport is woodblock printed on traditional Chinese paper. It was issued by the British Consulate at Hankow (the modern spelling Hankou, a treaty port in central China, now known as Wuhan in Hubei province, the city is at the confluence of the Han and Yangtza rivers. A most important treaty port, capable of taking ocean-going steamers.
A gilt-bronze buddha Chinese or Tibetan, depicted seated in dhyanasana, his left hand resting upon his lap in dhyana and lightly touching the lotus base with his right hand. His bronze robe is loosely draped across one shoulder and trimmed with a gilded foliate border and inlaid with silver. His hair is cast in bronze with tight curls and his facial features are gilded. The buddha is raised on a double lotus base, which is sealed beneath, we do not know if the prayer scroll is present, approx 825.6 gms, approx 16.5 cms.
