A good pair of George III oval silver salts, maker's mark J*S (Grimwade 3709) tentatively attributed to John Scofield, London, 1775, bead rims, sides pierced with anthemions incorporating a reserve with crest of lion's head and tail affronte, on four ball and claw feet, blue glass liners, 8.2 cm. long, wt. 99 gm. Good condition except one has a couple of tiny silver solder repairs where piercing has been re-attached to lower rim, very minor.

Royal Silver:-A pair of George III silver oval two-handled vegetable dishes by Robert Sharp, London, 1789, with bead borders, centres engraved with the Royal crest within the Garter, all under the coronet of a prince, a brother or son of the sovereign, with the Order of the Thistle dependent from the Garter, almost certainly for William Henry, third son of George III, who was made a Knight of the Thistle, aged 5, and retained it when made a Knight of the Garter, aged 17; this was a unique honour at the time, he was then made Duke of Clarence & St. Andrew in 1789, ascending the throne as William IV in 1830, 40.4 cm. long, wt. 1137 gm. A few pinprick dings here and there, one has a small very minor silver solder repair under rim and slightly splashy solder under rim where one side of one handle joins rim, all very minor.
A Victorian silver christening mug by J. C. Edington, London, 1856, decorated in high relief to one side with ac naked child astride a lion, vacant reserve on opposite side, additionally with panel of flowers in relief and an engraved fishscale panel behind the scroll handle, gilt interior, 11 cm. high, wt. 229 gm. The vacant reserve is bright and though solid and not thin, has probably been erased otherwise in good crisp condition, no bruises, clear marks.
A Victorian silver-mounted cut and etched glass claret jug by E. C. Brown, London, 1870, leaf-capped scroll handle with sprung grip to open cover, bead rim and engraved vacant foliate cartouche, the slender neck cut with octagonal motifs descending to a squat circular body etched with quatrefoils and stylised pendent llotus, star-cut base, 27.5 cm. high. In good condition, pretty glass, crisp engraving, good marks.
A good George IV silver cream jug by Cradock & Reid, London, 1820, squat circular with caryatid handle, sides chased with flowers and a pair of bacchanals garlanding a bull, cartouche with crest of an eagle displayed, scroll and floral-decorated rim and gilt interior, 15 cm. long, wt. 324 gm. Good crisp condition.
An early Victorian silver cream jug by William Hunter, London, 1839, melon-fluted sides engraved with heart-shaped foliate panels, leaf-capped handle, flower and scroll rim, gilt interior, engraved with demi-boar rampant crest, 17.2 cm. long. Good condition, very slight wear to a couple of the marks but very minor.
A George IV compressed circular silver teapot by Hyam Hyams, London, 1822, sides chased with flowers around a vacant cartouche on either side, acanthus-capped handle with ivory insulators, gadroon rim and reclining Mandarin finial, on leaf, rose and lion paw feet, 26 cm. long, wt. 662 gm. Small dings to cartouches which are erased and possibly patched but if so the patches appear to have been replated or covered up.
A George IV Irish silver cream jug by James Le Bass, Dublin, 1825, squat circular on lion paw feet, sbroad curved spout, sides chased with fox, hound, eagle and serpent amidst flowers and fruiting vines incorporating two rococo cartouches, one initialled "WHW", the other vacant, acanthus leaf and shell rim, leaf-capped bifurcated handle, 11 cm. diameter, wt. 291 gm. Tiny ding to vacant cartouche otherwise good and crisp with excellent marks.
A Chinese Export silver cigarette case of good gauge, apparently unmarked, circa 1920, oblong with rounded corners, pierced and decorated in high relief, the cover with butterfly amidst chrysanthemums around central bead-edged oval reserve monogrammed "JD", reverse with peasants including boy pushing wares on a barrow on a winding path, a house, a tree and bamboo and centred by Chinese character "Fu" symbolising Good Fortune, interior complete with two elasticated straps, 10.5 cm. long x 8 cm. wide, wt. 196 gm. Very crisp decoration, no wear to faces of people, several small dents to sides/corners but nothing serious that could not be tapped out by a silversmith. Closes nicely.
A large Chinese embroidered textile on silk hanging shawl, beautifully woven and decorated in golden and silver silk with cranes amongst bamboo against a black silk ground, 19th/20th century, 220cm long and 140 cm wide, with minor worn to corner, otherwise in good condition.
Angela Verren (b.1930). "Silver leaf 77" , a mixed media paint on canvas faced board bonded to a wide canvas mount, signed, titled and dated on the reverse. In original frame with original Crane Kalman Gallery label dated April '78. 31x61cm., frame 50x72cm. Angela Verren Taunt, nee Chick, was a close friend of Ben Nicholson and worked in his studio at 2, Pilgrim's Lane, Hampstead, including involvement in the acceptance of some of his pictures by the Government in lieu of tax.
