Mention 1876, in a rosewood case with brass stringing and edges and recessed handles, applied a monogrammed plaque HWH to the hinged lid and a circular shell plaque to the front inscribed Thomas Mercer London & St Albans 7744, the case 22.5cm (8.75") high, 20.5cm (8") wide, with Repair and Rate Certificate Nov 9th 1937 named Thomas Mercer and signed pp. Frank Mercer/see illustration
