*Aeronautique-Club de France. Printed menu for 5th October 1906, printed in black and silver, some surface marks, signed on verso by twenty-six participants including Sauniere (co-founder of the Club and its first President) and [Ferdinand] Ferber, all but three signatures in pencil, 22.5 x 14 cm Ferber had built a biplane gilder with a fixed tail in 1904 and was thus responsible for solving most of the problems associated with glider flight. He was killed when he crashed his plane at Boulogne on 19th September 1909. Less than one month after this dinner, Alberto Santos-Dumont was to win 1500 francs from the Club for the first 100-metre flight. (1)
