Follower of Henry John Boddington (1811-1865) Figures around a campfire at dusk Indistinctly signed, oil on canvas, 62cm by 93cmProvenance: A Private Collection Layer of general surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Frame rubbing in evidence, particularly down the right hand edge, with associated losses in the lower portion of the right hand edge. Craquelure to the entire canvas, to varying degrees of spacing, most concentrated in the left hand side of the image (see photos). Some evidence of possible instability in places. Stretcher shadow. Linear abrasion within the sky (see photo) and a linear horizontal scratch in the lower left hand corner (see photo), plus other minor surface imperfections elsewhere. Not examined under UV light.

Stretcher shadow down right hand side. An approximately 20cm tear to the left hand side of sitters face within the background, which has been restored and retouched. Not examined under UV light.
