The winery itself states "The property also has a real topographical advantage. The rolling hills and southern exposure contribute to the ripening of the grapes, and the vine plants enjoy a light wind that allows regular ventilation of the foliage and berries".

The vines grow in Beaune, the heart and soul of Burgundy. The Beaune appellation includes 1,620 acres of vineyards, 95% of which are planted with Pinot Noir and the rest with Chardonnay. It hosts the annual Hospices de Beaune wine auction, a charity auction dating back to the 15th century. Today Beaune is home to many of Burgundy's most famous merchants, such as the Drouhin, Jadot, Latour and Bouchard Pere et Fils.
A bottle of Vega Sicilia Único, 1970, Ribera del Duero.Category: Red wine.75 cl.Level: B.The Único is Vega Sicilia's reference wine, although it shares its special sparkle with the rest of the winery's wines. It comes from the oldest vines of the property and in its composition, apart from Tempranillo, there is more Cabernet Sauvignon than Merlot. Although it is old, the red maintains a liveliness provided by its good acidity, compensated by a round alcoholic content. It has an intense ripe cherry colour, with the lively edge of a wine that is always in fullness. The aroma is dominated by the toasted touches of the wood, with the hazelnut notes of its oxidative evolution during its years in barrels. It has a fullness of flavours of aged but clean wood, with dry and pleasantly bitter tannins from the oak, together with a touch of light sweetness from its alcohol. It is a very long flavoured wine, with race. This winery has been awarded the following prizes: Gold Medal and Grand Diploma of Honour at the 1927 Madrid Christmas Fair and the 1927 Barcelona Hotel Exhibition, and the Grand Prize of Honour at the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition.
Franz Hermle, Imperial, a reproduction gilt-metal and marble clock garniture, the eight-day duration movement having a floating balance and striking the hours and half-hours on two bells, the backplate stamped Franz Hermle, the round white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and signed Imperial, the figural brass and green marble case of lyre form with the bronzed figures to either side having cloven feet and having applied brass mounts, with a pair of seven-light matching side pieces, height 63cm.

At Finzean he painted many of the snow scenes for which he became so renowned, even constructing a mobile studio 'hut', which allowed him to paint en plein air even in the most adverse weather conditions. The present scene, with its dynamically rendered light to the central background, is an example of Farquharson's acute eye for the constant shifts and changes in his surroundings.A closely related scene, with a similarly huddled shepherd and flock, is in the Tate Collection.
