A WW2 era Czech VZ-24 Mauser Bayonet, complete with matched scabbard and leather frog. The blade is single edged, with fuller, and is marked ‘CSZ’ over an ‘E’ at the ricasso. Wooden grips secured with 2 screws, steel pommel with release button catch. The tang area is marked ‘E3 37’ (with a lion mark between), and the frog stud on the scabbard carries a faint matching mark, which would indicate that the item was made at the Brno manufacturing plant in 1937. The item has it’s original leather frog with retaining strap. Approximately 44.5cm in its scabbard, blade approximately 30cm. Condition: complete, but time worn. The blade is relatively clean, with a little age related darkening in places. The wooden grips are complete, with just a little burnishing to the edge of the wood on one side. The pommel and muzzle ring have a lightly corroded surface, but is otherwise solid. The release button catch works as it should, but the action is stiff. The scabbard also carries light surface corrosion, but is otherwise undamaged. The frog is complete, with just a little dryness to the leather.

A WW2 German NSDAP party armband. Multi part construction, with folded grosgrain tape swastika, stitched upon a white roundel. Hemmed edges and stitched to the reverse. No apparent signs of either a paper or fabric label. Condition: generally good. Normal age related light soiling to the fabric, and some tiny pulls to the red fabric.
A good quality vintage Scottish sterling silver officer’s Queen’s Own Highlanders (Seaforth & Cameron) badge. Cast in 3 separate parts, with the stags head to the centre, Queen’s crown and thistle at the top, and the traditional ‘Cuidich’n Righ’ on a scroll at the bottom. The stags head is fully U.K. hallmarked for Edinburgh 1994, with the makers mark of ‘GB’. The scroll is also fully marked, with a matching assay office and date letter, but the crown and thistle only carries the ‘GB’ makers mark. Condition: very good. Only light service wear to each piece.
A WW1 Star and Mons Clasp trio, awarded to 7320 Pte T.Dickson of the 8th Highland Light Infantry. To include: the 1914 Star with slip on type clasp, the British War Medal, and the Victory Medal. The medals are swing mounted on a bar for wear. Notes: the slip on clasp fitted appears to have some age, and although not being an official issue sew on type, it is likely a contemporary tailors copy or similar. Pte Dickson first entered the conflict on November 11th 1914 as part of the 8th (Lanark) Battalion Highland Light Infantry (Territorial). He later transferred to the Royal Scots (as Cpl), using the service number 335880. He originally enlisted for service on June 2nd 1913, and was discharged on April 23rd 1919. Cpl Dickson is also entitled to the Silver War Badge, number 478044. We have been unable to confirm Cpl Dickson’s entitlement to the clasp. His Medal Index Card is unusually light on information, with no mention of his prior service with the 8/HLI, nor his disembarkation date. The only details recorded as those related to the Royal Scots. Condition: good. Good level of detail present, and normal toning to each medal.
First Day of the Somme 01/07/1916 casualty death plaque, named to 12499 Pte George Skilton of the 6th Battalion Berkshire Regiment. Notes: George enlisted at Battersea in Surrey, and entered the conflict in France on July 25th 1915. He is entitled to the 1915 Star trio. According to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, George Skilton is a unique name. Both the CWGC website, and his relevant contemporary documentation confirm that he was killed in action on July 1st 1916. The British forces suffered over 57,000 casualties on July 1st, with over 19,000 of those being killed, an extremely grim and sobering record that still stands today. Condition: very good. The plaque has toned down to light chocolate colour, and would not appear to have been cleaned for some time.
H. Williamson Military issue pocket watch, of pre 1930’s manufacture. White dial with Roman numerals, and subsidiary dial at 3 o’clock position. Dial signed ‘H.Williamson Ltd London 52790F’. Complete with original blued steel hands. Dennison nickel case, with screw back and front (case number 92292). Star 7 lever movement, numbered 314371. Marked to the back cover with a broad arrow, and the number ‘52790F’. Approximately 5.8cm width. Condition: good. Cosmetically a clean and tidy example, with only normal light wear from handling. When wound, the watch appears to run as it should, but this is by no means a guarantee of its timekeeping. Note: regarding watches/pocket watches please note movements untested, functionality untested, for more information request a condition report with specific questions or please view in person
A scarce WW2 era Fleet Air Arm ‘HS8’ Pilots Watch - c.1943. Nickel plate case with stainless steel back. Off white dial with Arabic numerals, and correct original blued steel hands. The back case is marked H.S.8 with a broad arrow mark, plus 4718. The inside of the back cover is also correctly marked ‘2292’. Notes: the H.S designation stands for ‘Hydrographic Survey’. The watch would likely have been issued to a pilot stationed on an Aircraft Carrier. Condition: generally solid, with some service wear. The nickel casing does show some tiny bumps and scratching, just a normal patina and wear given its age and service. The dial shows some minuscule bubbling to the surface, but this is only visible under strong magnification. The back cover snaps on crisply, giving a good seal to the back. When wound, the watch will run for a short time, but it will likely require a service to keep good time - the movement is untested. Some normal very light scratching to the glass face The strap is absent, but this is easily replaceable.
A good quality vintage die stamped sterling silver 17th Lancers cap badge. Of traditional design, with the skull and crossed bones, with scroll to the bottom displaying the regimental motto ‘Or Glory’ 2 lugs present to the reverse side. Fully U.K. hallmarked to the reverse side for Edinburgh 1994, with the makers mark of ‘GB’. Approximately 4.8cm width x 4.4cm height. Condition: very good. Some toning to the silver on the front side, plus some very light service wear.
A good selection of modern British embroidered patches. To include: 1st Division, 2nd Division, 3rd Division, 5th Division, 1st Armoured Brigade, 1st Aviation Brigade, 1st Artillery Brigade, 1st Signals Brigade, 1st Intelligence Brigade, 1st Military Police Brigade, 2nd Medical Brigade, 4th Infantry Brigade, 7th Air Defence Brigade, 8th Engineer Brigade, 7th Air Defence Brigade, 7th Infantry Brigade, 4th Armoured Brigade, 11th Signal Brigade, 11th Infantry Brigade, 12th Armoured Brigade, several 16 Air Assault Brigade patches, 20th Armoured Brigade, 38th Irish Brigade, 52nd (Scottish) Brigade, 77th Brigade, 101 Logistic Brigade, 102 Logistic Brigade, 104 Theatre Sustainment Brigade, 2nd Signal Brigade, 8th Infantry Brigade, 19th Light Brigade, plus 39th, 52nd, 22nd, 42nd, 43rd, and 44th Brigade patches. 78 patches in total. Condition: very good. Many of the patches appear to have had little to no use. Each badge is loosely mounted onto paper backing with labels (easily removed if desired).
A WW2 era, German NCO’s parade sword, with double sided etched blade, by F.W. Holler of Solingen. Black celluloid grip with twisted wire binding, nickel plated cross guard, knuckle bow and backpiece. Nickel plated blade, with makers mark to the ricasso, and original leather washer. Profusely etched to the top third of the blade on both sides, and the spine, with floriate details, crossed swords, and a gothic font inscription to one side which reads: ‘Fur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit Reiter Regt.2 Angerburg (Ostpr)’. Which roughly translates as ‘In commemoration of my service with Reiter(?) 2nd Regiment in Angerburg East. Complete with black painted steel scabbard with a single suspension ring. There is a leather suspension strap fitted to the scabbard, but this is of later production, and would not appear to be associated with the sword. Approximately 101cm when in scabbard, blade length 86cm. Condition: generally very good. Some dulling to the nickel on the handle where it has worn a little. The blade is excellent, very clean and bright, with very little wear to the etched detail. The painted scabbard has a little wear to the painted finish, with some light scratching and chipping in places, commensurate with service wear.
A 1914 Star trio, awarded to 11267 Pte Ernest Nichol of the 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry. To include: the 1914 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, and a bronze officer quality DLI cap badge with blades to the reverse. Notes: Pte Nichol also served with the Royal Engineers as a Sapper, using service number 79402. His medal index card confirms the trio as his full entitlement, with no apparent entitlement to the clasp for the star. Condition: a little wear to the high points through polishing. The ribbons are original, but a little soiled and worn in places. The cap badge is in good condition.
A large scale model of a WW2 Spitfire fighter plane. Likely constructed in the latter part of the 20th century, and appears to be part wood / part plastic resin material. Painted surface with applied decals to the fuselage. The model has been flown, and internal wires to control the flaps can be observed. It also has fold away foam rubber wheels, which also would have been powered at some point in its life. The model is complete with a pilot seated in the cockpit. Notes: the fuselage is signed by Dr Gordon Mitchell (1920-2009) the son of the original Spitfire designer, Reginald Joseph Mitchell (1895-1937). Gordon’s father passed away in 1937, and he dedicated his life to raising the profile of his father, whom he believed was an unsung hero. Wingspan approximately 166cm - length of fuselage approximately 133cm. Condition: generally structurally sound. A little dusty in places, with some light wear and tear to the painted finish in some places. It’s suitability for flying, or being powered is unknown.
A WW2 era Luftwaffe aluminium belt buckle, with leather tab and belt. The buckle is seemingly unmarked, but the leather tab is embossed stamped ‘1939’. The belt is also unmarked, both to the leather and metal fitments. Plus, a German WW2 era SS dagger vertical hanger. The hanger is stamped ‘SS 1/38 RZM’ to the leather, with the metal clip being stamped ‘A (for Assmann) DGRM RZM M5/8’. Condition: varies across pieces. The leather to the belt and tab is supple, and in good condition. The eagle design to the buckle has worn through polishing, and lost some detail to the high points. The left edge of the buckle also appears to have a small part of the edge clipped away. The leather to the hanger is a little dry in places, but is still reasonably supple. Both sides of the leather retaining strap have surface cracks, but it remains structurally sound. The buckle on the strap is intact, but the retaining ring is missing. The metal clip works as it should, with just a little light surface corrosion.
A WW1 medal casualty pair, awarded to to 27556 Pte Thomas Pepper of the North Staffordshire Regiment, and the 7th Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. To include: the British War Medal, and Victory Medal (both using his original N.Staffs service number of 5526), the card transit boxes, original unused ribbons, original records office medal slip, a small period photograph of Pte Pepper, and an original fibre dog tag. Pte Pepper died from wounds on November 13th 1916, while serving in France and Flanders’s, and is commemorated at the Contay British Cemetary in Contay, France. He was a native of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Also included are Thomas’ brother’s WW1 medal pair, awarded to 6638 (later 202547) Cpl William Pepper of the North Staffordshire Regiment. His fibre dog tags, a small silver prize medallion (rank as Sgt in the 5th N.Staffs), and a small period colourised photograph are also included. Condition: generally good. Thomas’ medals are virtually mint, which is understandable given the circumstances. William’s medals show age related toning, and signs of light polishing. William’s medal ribbons are a little grubby, particularly the BWM.
2 original WW2 era Red Cross campaign posters, both circa 1941. Both posters are appeals for funds, with one highlighting the campaign by the Prime Ministers wife, Clementine Churchill, in her capacity as chairperson of the ‘Mrs Churchill’s Red Cross Aid to Russian Fund’. The aim was to raise funds for Russian civilians, who were suffering under Nazi occupation by the autumn of 1941. Russian, a key ally of the United Kingdom, was in desperate need of non military supplies, hence, appeals like this one became vital for morale. The second poster portrays a Red Cross flag flying, with the appeal being for gifts to be sent to ‘HRH. The Duke of Gloucester’s Red Cross & St John Fund’. Both posters approximately 38cm x 25.3cm. Condition: generally very good. Both posters have been in storage for many years, believed to be at an old cinema, and were likely destined to be displayed. Both posters have vibrant colours, and are free from tears, repairs, and foxing. They both have light fold lines from storage, but these are more noticeable from the reverse side.
A British Army issue Hamilton wristwatch, dated 1975 to the back cover. Usual barrel shaped, with black dial and luminescent numbers and hands. Broad arrow marked to the dial, and also T in a circle, indicating tritium applied lume. Marked W10-6645-99, 523-8290, a broad arrow, and 6150/75 (with the last two digits indicting the year of manufacture). Approximately 3.5cm width excluding crown. Condition: good. Normal light service wear to the main body, commensurate with being worn. Fitted with a modern black leather strap, which is in very good condition. When wound the watch appears to work as it should, but this is by no means a guarantee of its timekeeping.
A WW2 era, German M35 Luftschutz helmet with beaded rim. Painted with blue / black finish, with standard Luftschutz decal to the front. Marked ET62 to the left skirt, and W4020 to the back skirt. Fitted with a 9 tongue leather liner and cord drawstring, with the liner being marked ‘RLM’ and 54. Complete with black leather chinstrap. Condition: normal light service wear to the crown. Decal around 80% complete, with just some light scuffing in places. The liner is good, with normal service wear, and what appears to be a couple of oily finger marks to the front section, possibly from where it’s been picked up with dirty hands.
19th century, Mahdist War era, North African, likely Sudanese triple dagger, housed within a reptile skin sheath. Each dagger is fitted with a wire wrapped bone handle and an iron pommel. The centrally located dagger is fitted with a cruciform blade, which appears to have Islamic script etched onto it. The two daggers placed at the outside edges both have short, flat, and curved blades, which are both etched with Islamic script. The reptile skin sheath utilises the paws and forearms of the creature, and possibly the head to form the scabbard. Approximately 43cm in length (to the mid section), and a width of 18.7cm. Condition: generally solid, with age and service wear. All 3 of the blades have light surface corrosion / rust, which may be possible to clean off. The wire binding to the 2 smaller blades has come loose in places. Good overall condition to the reptile skin sheath, with normal age related wear and light rubbing to the surface.
An unusual WW2 era Bulgarian M36 c type combat helmet, which appears to have been re-painted and re-badged for German personnel use. Of standard form, with the shape being based upon the German M16 pattern helmet, and having a raw edge. 8 tongue liner fitted to the interior, plus a leather chin strap. The exterior finish is somewhat textured, partly from the repaint, and from surface corrosion. The repaint colour is now a grey-black colour, but evidence of the original olive green paint is evident to the inside under the liner. There is a metal swastika motif applied to one side, which under close inspection, appears to have been soldered in place, and then painted over. The helmet has possibly been repurposed for home front or last ditch German defence use in the Volkssturm. No apparent stamped marks, but there is a fainted inked name to the leather liner, which appears to be Kazolo or Kazobo or similar. Condition: generally solid, with service wear and light corrosion. Some denting and paint loss to the crown, plus wear to the paint around the applied swastika. The inner liner shows much wear, and the leather is quite dry. Some old surface rust to the inside of the crown, but no holes or serious corrosion. The helmet appears to be missing its internal brackets for holding the liner securely in place.
A post WW2 glengarry cap, with red, white and blue diced band, red tourie, black rosette fitted with gilt Highland Light Infantry cap badge, silk tails to the back. No apparent makers marks or dates to the inside. Plus, an unbadged Scottish Balmoral bonnet hat, in dark blue wool, with a black and white diced band, silk tails and a black tourie to the crown. Evidence of there once being a badge to the front left side (3 small holes). Also included are, a 1985 dated book, entitled The Black Watch A Short History, by Bernard Fergusson, a modern Clan Gordon bonnet badge, a Gordon Highlander cap badge with copper lugs, a Cameron Highlanders cap badge with copper lugs, and a Black Watch cap badge with copper lugs. Condition: generally good condition. The Balmoral bonnet has a hole to the lining, under the tourie area, plus 3 mounting holes to the band where the badge once was. The HLI badge has a little wear to high points of the the gilt finish. The other badges and book remain in good condition.
