Registration No: JRE 747 Chassis No: 29S8705 MOT: ExemptRare 12HP Riley, with only some 575 units produced'Intact' and 'very original' exampleIdeal candidate for 'oily rag' motoring or for full restoration, with the engine freeIn storage for several decades being unearthed in 2020After the Nuffield group took over Riley in 1938, the model range was streamlined to just the 12/4 and 16/4 engines. Each chassis offered two body styles: a 6-light 4-door Saloon with a swept tail, and a 2-door drophead Coupe. The Saloon, which had begun development before the takeover, was a clear evolution of the Adelphi body style, with some 550-575 units produced. The design featured the fashionable in-period helmet-style wings instead of the traditional Riley flowing designs. The rear doors were rear-hinged, unlike the centrally hinged doors of the Adelphi. Additionally, the rear of the car possessed a squarer design, with a larger rear quarter light and a bigger boot. This is a rare car, beginning production at the outbreak of war meant that production then stopped for the duration, with Riley introducing the RM post-war.In an 'intact' state, this rare Riley 12HP isn’t a stalled restoration or box of bits. Known to the Riley Motor Club, in the words of the vendor, ‘nothing has been done to this car and everything is still very original’. Its history is uncertain, where it began life or how many miles it's covered. We are told the Riley went into storage in the late 1960s and remained there until 2020. It was recovered by the previous owner and awaited restoration, but other projects got in the way. The engine hasn't been started in the current ownership, however, we believe the engine turns. Inside, the leather seats offer the potential for cleaning up nicely. The vendor adds, ‘all the doors, boot and bonnet open and the car rolls freely. The floors, the boot floor and the chassis all look to be sound.’ It could make a great restoration project and is offered with the V5C and a single key. Registration No: DL59 GRX Chassis No: 2G1FK1EJ7A9185224 MOT: July 2025Desirable Camaro SS modelL99 6.2 litre V8, automatic transmission, performance suspension, Brembo brakes, LSDOptional Inferno Orange Metallic paintwork with two-tone leather upholsteryImported into the UK in June 2023 PLEASE NOTE: This lot was driven to the sale, however it is displaying an engine management light, TPMS light and brake bulb warning light however a new bulb was found in the car when stripped out.The Mustang versus Camaro rivalry has been raging since the 1960s with both models amassing a legion of loyal fans. Introduced in 2009, the fifth generation Camaro featured stylistic echoes of its 1969 forebear (notably the grille, roof line, quarter windows and side trim) but was underpinned by a brand new platform. Engineered by Holden who had responsibility for all GM’s rear-wheel drive designs, the latter was equipped with all-round independent suspension (McPherson strut front / four-link rear), four-wheel disc brakes and power assisted steering. Available in Coupe and Convertible guises, the muscular-looking Chevy could be had with a choice of V6 or V8 engines (ranging in size from 3.6 – 7.0 litres) allied to manual or automatic transmission. In production from March 2009 – November 2015, the fifth generation Camaro found fame on the big screen thanks to its role as ‘Bumblebee’ in the Transformers franchise. Dating from the 2010 model year, chassis 2G1FK1EJ7A9185224 was built to a high specification including Inferno Orange Metallic paintwork, leather upholstery (2SS), L99 6.2-litre V8 (400bhp / 410lbft of torque), automatic transmission, limited slip differential, performance suspension, Brembo brakes and 21-inch wheels. A desirable SS model, its interior is understood to have been uprated with quilted transmission tunnel sides and quilted floor mats to complement the two-tone seats prior to being imported to the UK in 2023. Thoroughly enjoyed by the vendor since its acquisition last year, ‘DL59 GRX’ started readily and ran well during our recent photography session. The V8 engine is said to emit a pleasing rumble, while the automatic gearbox shifted smoothly. Representing an inexpensive entry to American muscle car ownership, this eye-catching Camaro is offered for sale with a current MOT certificate valid until July 2025. Registration No: TUR 590 Chassis No: 53300164 MOT: ExemptRare '60' iteration of the P4Understood to have been off the road since the 1980s and recently unearthedWorthy candidate for recommissioning/restorationOffered with maintenance notes and a current V5C documentUnveiled to great enthusiasm at the 1949 Earls Court Motor Show, the Rover P4 was another brainchild of Spencer and Maurice Wilks and only 9,261 examples of the '60' variant were built from 1954-1959. Said to be influenced by Raymond Loewy's designs for Studebaker, the P4's transatlantic lines clothed a highly competent chassis equipped with independent coil-and-wishbone front suspension and a Panhard rod located leaf-sprung rear axle. Various engine options were available during the P4's model life including the '60' a 1997cc OISE four-cylinder engine developing some 60bhp and 101lbft of torque, it had been used in the early Land Rover, although it now had modifications including an SU carburettor. With the standard four-speed plus freewheel manual transmission, this gave a respectable top speed of 80mph. Only marginally slower (2mph) than its '75' big brother, the '60' was also rather too close in terms of list price.First registered for the road in Hertfordshire on 18th February 1955, this example of the rarer '60' iteration of the Rover P4 displays some 50,700 miles on the odometer (believed to be c.150,700). What paperwork we have seen would appear to support this example having been off the road since the 1980s, only recently being brought out into the light of day. As part of the car's story, some handwritten maintenance notes on file were maintained in previous ownership from April 1975 until the mid-1980s. The notes show regular maintenance that included such work as a new head gasket in 1977 at 109,780 miles. We are advised the engine has been running recently, however, it would offer the opportunity as an ideal project or addition to a P4 enthusiast's collection. Offered with two workshop manuals, the aforementioned handwritten maintenance notes, the original logbook and the current V5C. Registration No: DUR 482 Chassis No: 28L7838 MOT: ExemptLong-term family ownershipThe subject of a previous gearbox overhaulOffered from a deceased estatePreviously a multi-award winning Riley at club eventsIn the late 1920s and '30s, Riley, based in Coventry, crafted some of the finest small sporting cars globally, spanning Saloons, Tourers, and dedicated sports models. Percy Riley's famous marque really took off thanks to the 1926 Motor Show exhibited Riley 9, the main feature of which was the engine, which became a talking point amongst the sporting motoring fraternity. For when most of the rival firms were still employing side valves, Riley's 9 engine had not one, but two camshafts, mounted high up in the cylinder block, driving inclined valves via short pushrods and rockers, and was fitted with hemispherical cylinder heads - a layout which responded well to some further power increasing tweaking. Indeed, the Thompson and Taylor team Brooklands 9 (Nine) became one of the biggest winners in British motor racing pre-war. Such racetrack credentials quickly rubbed off on the street models, which the 'Brooklands crowd' bought in great numbers. The late vendor purchased this 1938 Riley 12/4 Lynx in the 1990s. Previously a multi award-winning Riley at club events, the Lynx had been in use until 2022 and maintained to a good standard, when it was laid up due to ill health. Just one of a batch of 44 built at the end of the line for the 12/4 Lynx range and fitted with a Riley Sprite dash from new, it was purchased by the previous owner in the late 1970s. A full restoration down to the chassis ensued and included new A and B pillars and upgrading to a higher output radiator. The paperwork with the car includes the V5C, previous valuations, test certificates and magazine cuttings from when the car was new, as well as photographs of the car’s restoration in the early 1970s and tours around Britain since. The interior has a beautiful weathered look whilst the hood has some areas where the stitching has come apart, however, this can be easily remedied. The Riley would make a good usable car with some light recommissioning. It has been running as recently as December 2024 and will take minimal work to see it run again. Just before it was laid-up, it benefitted from a full gearbox overhaul, covering a mere handful of miles since. It is to be sold at No Reserve. Registration No: TTU 283J Chassis No: G150118 MOT: Exempt1 of just 796 G15s understood to have been manufacturedLong-term previous ownership for c.11 yearsSubject to a self-evident previous restorationBenefitting from featuring the larger 998cc ‘Sports’ engineGinetta was founded in 1958 by the four Walklett brothers (Bob, Ivor, Trevers and Douglas) in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Although, best known for their sports racer and kit car designs, the quartet also produced a series of fully type-approved road cars beginning with the G15. Conceived as an affordable sportscar, the two-door Fixed-Head Coupe was introduced at the 1967 London Motor Show. Commendably light, its box-section ladder-frame chassis played host to a rear-mounted Hillman Imp Sports 875cc drivetrain, Triumph Herald / Spitfire front suspension, and sleek fibreglass bodywork. Benefiting from a very low rear roll centre and negative camber up front, the G15 proved an exhilarating drive. Reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 12.9 seconds and 94mph in standard tune, the two-seater could also be had with an enlarged 998cc 'sports' engine with 65bhp on tap. Evolving through five series, the diminutive Ginetta fell victim to the oil crisis during 1974 but not before some 796 had been made. Arguably, the Walkett brothers' most famous model (and certainly their best seller), the G15 achieved considerable competition success at the hands of Chris Meek and Allison Davies among others.Manufactured in 1970, chassis number ‘G150118’ was registered new on the 14th September that year. Presented in Red paintwork with wheels and bumpers finished in Gold, the Ginetta features Black vinyl interior upholstery, with a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Uprated with the enlarged 998cc 65bhp 'Sports' engine utilising twin carburettors, it is allied to the four-speed manual gearbox. ‘TTU 283J’ has been subject to a self-evident older restoration and has been in long-term previous ownership for approximately eleven years, during which time the Ginetta was fully repainted and was prepared for use in hillclimbs, including fitment of a rear roll cage, but use in anger unfortunately never materialised. The G15 is offered now with some 63,000 recorded miles on the odometer, and has recently benefitted from new brake discs, callipers and lines; driveshaft and doughnuts and both master and slave cylinders. Supplied with a current V5C document, the G15 is an interesting alternative to the much more expensive Lotus Elan and is ideal for those who enjoy small, lightweight and revvy sports cars. Registration No: K259 DAR Chassis No: WF0AXXGBBANY69178 MOT: May 2025Odometer displays just c.41,000 milesOffered with history file, MOT certificates and current V5CRecently refurbished alloy wheels shod with new tyresOne of only 30 Sierra Azura left registered on the road in the UKThe Ford Sierra was manufactured and marketed by Ford of Europe from 1982–1993 and followed the unveiling of its controversial shape at the 1982 British International Motor Show in Birmingham, shortly followed by the 1982 Paris Salon de l'Automobile. Sales began on 15th October 1982, replacing the Cortina MkV. Its striking aerodynamic styling, first seen on the Probe III concept car in 1981, was such that many conservative buyers (including company car drivers) shunned its design over rivals such as the Vauxhall Cavalier. A saloon model debuted in 1987 with the introduction of the facelifted Sierra, the saloon was marketed as the Sierra Sapphire on the UK market. The front end was completely revised, with the biggest difference being the indicators now positioned above the bumper and to the side of a new headlight design. While the grille again remained blanked off, the UK, Irish, and South African versions of the newly introduced saloon version featured a unique shallow black grille between the headlights. The rear lights were replaced with slimmer but wider models containing separate stop lamps.Supplied new by W. H. Perry (Ford) Limited, Rayleigh, on the 3rd December 1992 to first owner Mrs E. Ingram and in current ownership since 2020, this limited edition example of the Sierra, with its 1.8 engine and 5-speed transmission, displays a credible c.40,791 miles. Evidently looked-after in previous long-term ownership 2009-2019, its time-warp condition has even seen the Sierra used to represent 1990s scenography in the Channel 5 (UK) TV documentary 'The Girl in the Box'. In current ownership, spring 2020 saw differential and transmission oil topped-up, fluids changed, new tailgate struts, an immobiliser fitted and Waxoyl applied. Autumn 2020 saw the fitment of a battery switch and new front indicator light lenses. Improvements continued to be made into the spring of 2021, with the driver’s door handle replaced, a Tracker fitted, rear door rubber strips replaced, the rear driver’s side handle replaced, the fuel filter mount secured, a new wheel cylinder fitted, the cambelt replaced by Reliance Garage, Glossop and a new battery. Spring 2022 saw a NOS Ford exchange radiator fitted along with poly-bushes for the front suspension and autumn of 2022 saw the wheels powder coated and shod with new tyres and the original radio refitted. The Sierra benefitted from an oil change in May 2023 along with new number plates, as the originals wouldn’t pass the MOT. Offered with an MOT (into May 2025) and the current V5C. Registration No: ESV 934 Chassis No: 5562133378 MOT: ExemptBelieved all original example that still wears its livery of Metallic Green over Light Green plain broad-cloth upholsteryImported to the UK in 1984 and then laid up in dry storage until nowOffered as an exciting non-running projectDisplaying a c.25,837 miles on the odometer (not warranted)Styling and horsepower were the watchwords of '50s American car design and no examples epitomised the thinking more than the voluptuous Harley Earl-penned Cadillacs. For the lower, sleeker body of the Series 62 model introduced in 1953, the effect of the distinctive tailfins that had been the company's hallmark since 1948 were heightened by: a redesigned grille with heavier integral bumper and tapered dagmar-style bumper guards, prominent headlamp eyebrows, smoothly curved one-piece rear window and a fresh design of full-size chrome wheel trim. Cadillac changed their grille design every year, but in 1955, the grille was redesigned with wider spaces between the blades and the parking lamps were repositioned directly below the headlights. On the sides of the body the rub-rail moldings formed a right angle with the vertical trim on the rear doors or fenders. Built for the 1955 model year, little is known of the early history of chassis number 5562133378, but evidence suggests that the car spent its early life around the Philadelphia, PA area thanks to a Keystone Automobile Club sticker on the rear valence. The vendor and long-term current owner discovered this remarkably original car for sale on a trip to the US in the early 1980s and imported it back home to the UK via the Liverpool docks. When the Cadillac arrived, it was immediately registered in the UK as 'ESV 934' and driven back from Liverpool to its long-term home in East London before immediately being laid up in dry storage until late December 2024 when the decision was made by the vendor to sell it. The storage conditions have done wonders to preserve the car in its original Metallic Green paint scheme and the original duo-tone Green broad-cloth interior has also survived intact (albeit with some small repairs to perform where 70-year-old stitching has let go). Now offered as a very exciting project, 'ESV 934' is described by the vendor as being 'surely the most original example of its type in the UK which remains very solid'. We are sure that any prospective purchaser would be hard pressed to decide whether to sympathetically recommission the mechanical parts and run it in 'oily rag' guise or to use this un-messed with example to conduct a full restoration. To be offered without reserve, this Elvis-era '55 'Caddy' is supplied with UK V5C and registration plates, hub caps and rear-wheel spats, original jack and a charming period set of snow chains in their original Allstate box. Registration No: EX 6915 Chassis No: D236 MOT: ExemptJAP-engined V-twin MorganSubject to a comprehensive body and engine overhaul in 2003Affectionately known as 'Castrol' and previously displayed at the Haynes International Motor MuseumIn need of light recommissioningAn ingenious concept, HFS Morgan built his first three-wheeler in 1909. Based around a tubular steel frame, its low centre of gravity and advanced 'sliding pillar' independent front suspension endowed it with excellent road-holding. Progressively developed, the single rear-wheel-driven platform played host to a variety of JAP, Matchless, Blackburne, Anzani and Ford powerplants over the years (though, the prototype used a Peugeot unit). Fearsome competition cars, Morgan three-wheelers driven by the likes of HFS himself, Clive Lones and Harold Beart acquitted themselves well on race circuits and trial stages alike (Mrs Gwenda Stewart recorded 115.66mph during a record run at Montlhery in 1930). An evolution of the JAP powered Aero model, the Super Sports appeared in 1927. By 1933 Morgan's three-wheeler chassis could be ordered with four types of body, namely: Super Sports, Sports Two-Seater, Sports Family and Family. The Super Sports was notable for its chromium-plated exhaust pipes that run the length of the body. Interest in Morgans of this period has never waned and, if anything, increased in recent times - the company's inspired decision to create a modern three-wheeler having brought the early cars to the attention of a new audience.Built in 1933 and fitted from new with an 1100cc water-cooled JAP V-twin engine, little is known of the early history of chassis D236. However, a note from a previous owner suggests that the sporting three-wheeler was laid up during World War II and remained off the road until 1952, when it was subject to a rebuild and registered as ‘EX 6915’ which has been retained to this day. Evidence suggests that the car was used for racing during the years between its first rebuild and acquisition by the previous owner in 2010, and a recent chance sighting of a photograph of the car at a sporting event was found by our specialist hanging on the wall at the Fox & Hounds pub near Godstone, Surrey attesting to this.A note on file from the previous owner shows that the car was subject to a second complete overhaul in 2003 and painted in the current colour scheme of Castrol Green & Red, which resulted in the two-seater becoming fittingly known as ‘Castrol’. Upon acquisition, it was noted by the previous owner that the JAP engine was fitted with a racing camshaft, which was swapped back to a standard camshaft to make it more usable on the road, along with the fitment of electronic ignition and a new Amal carburettor. Such was the standard of ‘Castrol’, that in 2019 it was chosen by the Haynes International Motor Museum to be on exhibition with several other Morgans to represent the marque. Unfortunately, the previous owner’s age meant that his collection of Morgans ended up being laid-up for several years and when they needed to be sold off the vendor stepped in and purchased ‘Castrol’ and a more modern 2012 stablemate as non-running projects. A significant lack of time now means that both cars will be sold at our Buxton auction and are both offered 'as found' by the vendor in non-running condition in need of mechanical work, although it is noted by the vendor that both cars’ engines turn over and roll freely. The vendor has also noted that the bodywork is very straight, although cosmetically the paint and chrome has suffered from storage and may need some work if perfection is sought.Seldom do these pre-war three-wheelers get offered at this price level as they remain incredibly sought after. We feel that ‘Castrol’ would make a very rewarding project for any prospective purchaser. It is offered with a history 'write-up' from the previous owner and its UK V5C Registration Document. Registration No: GK 4244 Chassis No: 8074 MOT: ExemptA very exciting stalled restoration projectCurrent (sadly deceased) ownership since 1967Said to still retain many original Brooklands partsMuch hard work already donePotentially eligible for numerous VSCC events once completedIn 1926, Percy Riley introduced the 1087cc 9hp four-cylinder engine. It was an ingenious design, with twin gear-driven camshafts and hemispherical, cross-flow combustion chambers. The engine looked for all intents like an overhead-cam unit, however, the cams were mounted high in the block, operating pushrods and rockers for the 90-degree incline valves. The engine became a hallmark of Riley cars. The Riley 9 chassis was offered in many styles and equipment, including a very striking closed sports Sedan, fabric-bodied Tourers, and the sporting and sleek Brooklands Roadster. Period literature described the Brooklands as "equally suited for competition work and daily use, very much appreciated by the motorist who desired more than average speed, hill climbing ability, acceleration, and roadworthiness." The Riley 9 proved itself a very capable competitor, with a history of many race wins, records and top results.According to the copy continuation logbook on file, chassis 8704 was first registered as ‘GK 4244’ on November 1st 1930. Referenced on pages 397 and 398 of the authoritative tome, ‘The Riley Nine Brooklands Speed Model’ by Adrian Smith and Keith Mountain, as confirmed directly by Adrian Smith, I am quite prepared to say that after discussion with others who viewed the cars for sale in their dismantled state in 1967, it is a genuine Brooklands chassis. Without a chassis stamping I cannot categorically link metal to paperwork, but on the balance of probabilities, and knowing Paul, the paperwork and chassis would go together, the two-seater’s initial owner is understood to have been A.P. Warren Esq of Acton, London. It is unknown whether he competed in the car but a Mr Arthur P. Warren (who may or may not have been the same person) contested the Monte Carlo Rally aboard various Rileys during the 1950s. Similarly, the car’s second custodian is listed as George Povey Esq of Birmingham and a gentleman of the same name is known to have campaigned a MG Midget at Shelsey Walsh. Subsequent keepers are said to have included: C.M. Smith Esq of Stourport-on-Severn, E.B. Woodall Esq of Harvington, Alan Heap Esq of Exhall, C.F. Hooper Esq of Bristol, Flight Sergeant Jacques Marlier de Routon of Wendens Ambo, A. Rusling Esq of Kettering, W. Barker Esq of Earls Barton, Eric Adams of Northampton, Charles Kennion Esq of Hertford and Brian Kennion Esq of Hitchin with the latter selling the Riley as a dismantled project to the deceased vendor in December 1967. Well known in marque circles, the late seller did not start work in earnest on ‘GK 4244’ until 2019. Sadly, he never got to see the project through to completion but we are informed that the car retains its original petrol tank, front / rear axles, wings and wheels. The chassis is said to be original as well. We did not manage to locate a number on it but have sought permission to attack the paintwork on the dumb irons and hope to do so at the venue. The 9hp engine has reportedly been overhauled with the gearbox and suspension being refurbished too. Not run for a few years, the Riley will require checking over but comes with clocks for the dash, aero screens, sundry items, number plates and a complete set of lights. The seats have been trimmed in Light Brown to complement the envisaged final Green paintwork. All of the wheels have been blasted and painted and fitted with all new tyres. A very worthy project on which most of the hard work has been done, once completed the two-seater should be eligible for numerous VSCC events. Offered for sale with V5C Registration Document, handwritten ownership log, invoices and sundry other paperwork. The remains of a genuine Brooklands bulkhead and doors are also available, should the new owner wish to arrange and collect at their expense post-sale. PLEASE NOTE: The chassis plate for this lot has now been found and will accompany it to the auction. A photo of the plate will be added to the listing. Registration No: BRF 298J Chassis No: 1S50447 MOT: ExemptOne of just 2,116 right-hand drive examples and fitted with the desirable manual gearboxMatching chassis and engine numbersOffered with a comprehensive history file including the Jaguar Heritage CertificateDisplaying c.28,000 recorded milesLast of the line, the Jaguar E-type Series III was introduced in 1971. Longer, wider and more comfortable than its predecessors, the newcomer blurred the lines between sports car and grand tourer. Powered by a turbine-smooth all-alloy SOHC 5343cc V12 engine allied to either Jaguar four-speed manual or Borg Warner three-speed automatic transmission, the refined manner in which it performed (contemporary road tests spoke of 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds and 150mph) simply blew road testers away. Benefitting from a broader track, ventilated disc brakes, power-assisted rack and pinion steering and Lucas transistorised ignition, the Series III was visually distinguished by its 'egg-crate' grille, flared wheel arches and purposeful quad-exhaust pipes. Available in Fixed-Head Coupe (2+2-seater) or Roadster (2-seater) guises, it remained in volume production until 1974 (though, a special commemorative run of forty-nine Black-painted roadsters was released the following year).According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate on file, chassis 1S50447 was manufactured on the 14th September 1971 and despatched on 6th October 1971 to its first owner via supplying dealer Stanley Harvey & Co and registered as ‘DOI 3113’. Originally specified with a manual gearbox and liveried in Light Blue over a Dark Blue interior, the 12-cylinder E-Type was PDI’d on the 26th October 1971 and delivered to its first owner recorded on its accompanying green logbook, a Mr Thomas Parsons of Holywood, County Down. Mr Parsons only kept the big cat for four years before the next owner took custodianship in 1975 and a notable amount of the original service history on file is credited to this period. Following acquisition by the second owner, the car remained in Northern Ireland until the late 1980s and it was during this time that it caught the eye of esteemed Jaguar historian Philip Porter, who would feature it in his published guide ‘Original Jaguar E-Type’ as the feature car for the Series III chapter.Having left Northern Ireland and now in the custodianship of its Birmingham based fourth owner, 1S50447 was registered as ‘BRF 289J’ and subjected to a comprehensive overhaul which included the independent rear suspension, front suspension and a repaint into the Opalescent Silver Blue Metallic that it presents in today. Following the restoration work, a local pottery maker and classic car collector Mr Tams purchased the 2+2-seater and continued in the same vein with its servicing record, and a note in the history file explains a speedometer swap due to a faulty original instrument at just 19,400 miles. Staying in Mr Tams’ collection until his passing in 2001, the Jaguar was sold via the now defunct ‘The E-Type Centre’ of Birmingham to a Mr Gordon of Ealing, London and was marketed as ‘the best V12 2+2 we’ve ever had’ which is attested to by an accompanying sales document. Cherished by Mr Gordon for some 17 years, the Grand Tourer was used sparingly when he was in the UK, being put into storage for short periods when he was abroad and again adding to the extensive maintenance history when in use until ultimately it was stored from 2007 until 2018 when it was moved onto its previous owner. The previous owner only kept ‘BRF 289J’ until 2021, when it was acquired by the vendor through esteemed E-Type specialists, ‘E-Type UK’ of Kent. The current owner and vendor has seldom had the opportunity to enjoy this low-mileage Coupé, and it has covered only a further c.2,000 miles for events such as the Goodwood Revival and Le Mans Classic since acquisition inbetween long periods of dry-storage in Hampshire. Notably during the vendor’s ownership, however, with long continental tours on his mind, he opted to have a period looking air-conditioning unit newly fitted to make warmer climes more comfortable.During our recent photography appointment, we noted that the mighty 12-cylinder power unit fired up eagerly upon a flick of key and that the clutch and gearbox feel in fine fettle. The vendor pointed out that the paintwork remains in overall ‘good shape’ although several panels are now suffering from areas of micro blistering. The rear suspension unit appears to be sitting up very well although the front suspension is due some attention, displaying a noticeable ‘nose-down’ attitude in comparison to earlier photographs. The interior trim appears to be mostly the original fittings with obvious restoration work having been carried out to achieve perfection where necessary – and we feel that a delightful patina is now exhibited upon the leather seats. The recorded odometer reading at the time of consignment was 8,164 miles and with the original having been changed at 19,433 miles we understand that the total mileage is c.27,600 miles. Now offered for sale without reserve, ‘BRF 289J’ is surely an unrepeatable opportunity to obtain a genuine low mileage car with favoured specification and one of the most comprehensive history files we have encountered for its kind. Supplied with its Heritage Certificate, V5C, numerous receipts for works since new, MOT history, green logbook and original book pack including stamped British Leyland service book, any genuine Jaguar enthusiast should jump at the opportunity! WW1 German Prussian Ersatz Tin Pickelhaube, fine example of an original ersatz all tin other ranks pickelhaube with its original special pattern Prussian other ranks eagle helmet plate, with the rear of the plate having the fitting only found for tin pickelhaubes, instead of the usual loops on plates for leather helmets. Interior with its original leather liner system with felt inner. The helmet plate is damaged, missing part of the lower leg and orb and some light areas of rusting to the shell but overall this is a good example of a hard to find now original ersatz tin pickelhaube. With a shortage of leather for the war effort, German manufacturers of pickelhaubes experimented with various materials including tin, felt and canvas cloth over cork. The famous German tin toy manufacturer, Bing, produced many pickelhaube helmets and often you find examples with their makers details.
