FREDERICK HART [1943-1999], ACRYLIC SCULPTURES, 1983, #5/50, TWO, H 30", 'SACRED MYSTERIES: ACTS OF LIGHT': A female and male suite, each is signed, dated and numbered "BC Frederick E. Hart © MCG 1983, 5/50" [see additional photos]. Each measures approximately H.29" x 23" x 6", and is raised on a stepped plinth, H.37" overall. Frederick Elliott Hart, American, 1943-1999.
A large collection of Royal Albert "Old Country Roses" pattern dinner and tea wares to include four lidded tureens, cake plate, nine dinner plates, oval platter, fourteen cups and saucers, teapot, sugar bowl, lidded pot, two gravy boats and stands, jug, dinner plates, tea plates, hors d'oeuvres plates with gilt metal handles, matching cake knife, butter knife and jam spoon CONDITION REPORTS One gravy boat cracked and stained. There are two three tier cake stands however the fitments to appear to vary in style and may be incomplete (please see photos for fitments present). Items overall with some light wear. Some slight variations to the sizes of the dinner plates and some slight variations to the dome shape of the lids to the tureens. One cup with large chips to rim. The spoon has a crack to the handle. The knife has a crack to the handle. Various back stamps and slight variations in shape so items are of varying manufacturing dates. Items appear to be first quality and other than the faults mentioned appear to be generally in good condition.
Four pairs of cotton interlined curtains, the burgundy ground with Classical gold floral sprays, together with tie backs and two matching panels with grey moire fabric lining CONDITION REPORTS Length of curtains approx 240 cm. Overall with some light general wear and dirt, some fading. Overall condition appears reasonably good. Please note that curtains have cream lining and that the matching panels have grey moire fabric lining.
Five similar brass and glass ceiling light fittings CONDITION REPORTS Height of each approx 33 cm excluding chain. All with wear and tarnish and some pitting to surface. Shaped glazed panels appear to be OK. Lights are of slightly varying shapes and sizes, but overall of a very similar design, with diameter of largest approx 16 cm and diameter of the smallest approx 13.5 cm.
A black silk top hat, a black felt bowler hat, a Calcutta Light Horse khaki military style jacket, two pairs of binoculars, a collection of bull fighting posters, an oval mirror and a coppered coal scuttle CONDITION REPORTS The top hat with some wear and scuffs and some losses to fabric to underside of rim. Inner circumference approx 55 cm. Bowler hat with wear, scuffs and dirt and some fraying to band and inner lining has come loose. Inner circumference approx 54 cm. Posters very stained and torn and with losses. Binoculars with scuffs, scratches and wear. Khaki jacket with wear and some fraying and stitched repairs and tarnish and wear to buttons. Mirror with some damage.
A collection of various objets de vertus, including a hand-stitched panel inscribed "Souvenir of Solonica 1917", various rings, medals, French pocket corkscrew, etc CONDITION REPORTS The Defence metal 1939-1945 is not inscribed. The 1914-1918 medal is inscribed "M2-200630 PTE.A.MERRETT. A.S.C." The 1914-1919 medal bears the same inscriptions. Medals with wear, scuffs, tarnish and some knocks and ribbons very frayed and with some tears. Folding travelling corkscrew with some dents and mis-shaping. Ring with various damage and losses. The badge contained within a box inscribed "Ministry of Pensions The King's Badge". Badge has some light wear and is inscribed "For Loyal Service". The coin is dated 1889. The embroidery has some light general wear and dirt and fraying to the fringing and stains and fraying to the backing cloth.
An early 20th Century silk evening bag with enamelled decorated gilt metal clasp, an early 20th Century embroidered purse, and an early 20th Century make-up compact with bird and floral decoration CONDITION REPORTS Silk bag with enamelled clasp : some light general wear and a little tarnish, some of the marcasite type decoration is missing from the enamelled clasp, however otherwise appears in reasonably good condition, size approx. 22 x 18 cm including clasp. Embroidered purse : has wear and fraying, some discolouration and dirt, size approx. 12 x 20 cm. Compact : with some wear, scuffs and scratches, some tarnish and a few knocks to edges, size approx. 12.5 cm x 7.75 cm.
GILBERT SPENCER "Sleeping dog", pencil, signed lower right, dated April 2nd 1915 CONDITION REPORTS Overall with light wear, but condition generally appears good. It is mounted in a modern frame and is sealed so unable to inspect the back of the picture. There is a piece of paper stuck to the back board of the frame giving some details about Gilbert Spencer. Size of drawing (aperture) approx 21.5 x 11.5cm.
A modern gilt framed rectangular wall mirror in the Adam taste with grooved bevel edged plate CONDITION REPORTS Size approx 98 cm wide x 77 cm high max. Mirror plate size approx 86 cm x 51 cm. Overall with some light general wear and scuffs but overall condition appears reasonably good. Some slight separating at joins to corners.
A Danish rosewood dining suite including rounded rectangular dining table on tapered supports, 210 cm x 110 cm, and eight dining chairs with upholstered back panels and seats (6 + 2) by Uldum Mobelfabrik, possibly designed by Johannes Anderssen - circa 1974-76 (with CITES Licence No. 532108/01 issued Bristol 23rd January 2015) CONDITION REPORTS Table is rosewood veneered, overall with some light general wear and scuffs, some fading to the top, but overall appears in tidy condition. Six chairs : backs and seats are covered in a hessian type fabric which is worn and stained, backs are unpadded, frames with various knocks, scratches and wear. Two carver chairs are of slightly different construction, although of the same design (please see photos for examples), grain and patination of the wood is slightly different to to the carver chairs, carver chairs are upholstered in a similar fabric but which is slightly paler and the backs are padded.
Lincolnshire.- Speed (John) - The Countie and Citie of Lyncolne Described, county map with ornamental title cartouche, coats of arms, battle scene, inset plan of Lincoln, and ship and sea-monster, engraved map with full hand-colouring, 390 x 520mm., English text on verso with woodcut initial by William Hall and John Beale, central vertical fold, with minor tears to lower centre, discolouration to central fold, light browning, Sudbury and Humble, [1611-1612].
Middlesex.- Speed (John) - Midle-sex described with the most famour Cities of London and Westminster, 1st issue, with inset plans and views of St Paul s and Westminster Abbey, engraved map with hand-colouring, 385 x 510mm., English text verso with woodcut initial by Hall and Beale, central vertical fold, several repaired tears, even browning, light spotting and surface dirt, Sudbury and Humble, 1611.

Bilibin (Ivan).- Pushkin (Aleksandr Sergyeevich) - Skazka o Tsare Saltane, [The Tale of Tsar Saltan], first edition, text in Russian, printed in blue and black, title with elaborate border printed in gold and colours, colour illustrations by Ivan Bilibin, some full-page, light offsetting, original pictorial wrappers, rubbed, spine a little worn, oblong 4to, St.Petersburg, 1905 and 7 others, Russian childrens literature, 4to (8). The illustrations relate to the set and costumes designed by Bilbin for the Rimsky-Korsakov opera based on the same Pushkin poem.
A group of 92 images of India, 58 watercolours over pencil, each c.150 x 120mm and c.100 x 80mm and 34 photographs each c.55 x 95mm. and c.210 x 265mm., depicting flowers, architecture, landscapes and people mostly in and around Burma, mounted on verso and recto of ff., ff. mounted on stubs, several pen notes to margins, some light spotting, contemporary half morocco, gilt, g.e., rubbed, [c.1877-1878].

V[erstegan] (R[ichard]) - A Restitution of Decayed Intelligence: first edition, title printed in red & black with engraved vignette, 9 further vignettes and one engraved plate with coat-of-arms, title slightly dust-soiled and contemporary ink ownership initials near imprint, light damp-stain to lower margin of last 3 gatherings, some other minor marking, armorial bookplate of Hartley Rosehill on front pastedown, contemporary mottled calf, splitting at upper joint, rubbed at edges, otherwise a very good copy, [STC 21361], small 4to, Antwerp, Robert Bruney, 1605. A 'seminal work of Anglo-Saxon scholarship' (ODNB), also considered the best edition for the quality and number of its engravings.
