HORSE RACING: 'The Celebrated Trotting Horse 'Trustee' as he appeared in his 20th mile in His Great Match against Time of Travelling 20 Miles in 1 Hour over the Union Course L.I. Oct 20th 1848. He was driven in an admirable manner by Cornelius S Bartine, as the subjoined summary of time will show...' (New York? 1848): printed in red and black on fine linen cloth, 69 x 84.5cm, some light fraying but generally in sound condition. Apart from description of the horse and details of the times, the whole is surrounded by portraits of the first 8 presidents of the United States, ending with Martin Van Buren whose term ended in 1841. Dinky 153 Standard Vanguard Saloon - mid-blue body with silver trim, light beige ridged hubs with treaded tyres - Excellent (small mark to roof and bonnet) still a beautiful example of a harder variation to find in a generally Good Plus yellow and red carded picture box with correct colour spot.
Dinky 442 Land Rover Breakdown Vehicle "Motorway Rescue" - a pair (1) white body and interior, red doors, bonnet and roof lights, black jib with red plastic reel, Speedwheels and another same as previous but with harder to find red interior and white reel (one roof light is detached but present) - otherwise conditions are Near Mint to Mint in Good Plus window boxes (one has slight crushing to cellophane). Corgi GS2 Gift Set to include Land Rover - finished in red, light tan tinplate tilt, lemon interior, silver trim, spun hubs (with suspension), metal tow hook and Rice's Pony Trailer - red, black, flat spun hubs, metal drawbar, with pony figure - overall condition is generally Good Plus (does have small chips to most protruding edges) still a nice bright example, carded base is Good Plus in a generally Good (slightly grubby) blue and yellow carded picture box.
