•TRISTAN TZARA (1896-1963) 'Excursions & Visites Dada 1ère visite: Église Saint Julien le Pauvre' Jeudi 14 Avril a 3 h, (Paris, 1921), original printed broadside, with text printed in black and blue, 27.5cm x 22cm (unframed) This rare Dada publicity broadside features the names of the Dada group at the foot: Buffet, Aragon, Arp, Breton, Eluard, Fraenkel, Hussar, Peret, Picabia, Ribemont-Dessaignes, Rigaut, Soupault and Tzara. The typography was designed by Tristan Tzara. This was the first and only public gathering of the Paris Dadaists. The text, attributed to Andre Breton, invites the reader on a visit to the church of St Julien le Pauvre, being one of "a series of visits to selected spots, particularly those which really have no reason for existing... Together with a 1910 Russian 100 Ruble Note - Allegorical man with sword, Catherine II at left. Dark brown on light brown and multicolor underprintNOTE: These enameled tumblers were distributed along with food and commemorative scarves to the citizens of Moscow on May 18, 1896 to commemorate the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II. Rumors that the cups contained a gold coin caused a panic and stampede which resulted in over one thousand casualties being trampled to death. This became known as the "Khodynka Tragedy", the Tsarina, Alexandra gave this cup its name "Cup of Sorrows'
