A British 1885 Pattern Cavalry Trooper's sword, the partially fullered polished slightly curved 85cm. blade, ricasso stamped 9/85, the hilt with pierced Maltese Cross design, leather chequered grip, original polished metal scabbard. * Overall very good, tip of blade flat, light surface wear.
Treen - three novelty snuff boxes, comprising two book form snuff boxes with sliding spines for storage, the largest, 4 3/8in. (8.6cm.) wide; together with a snuff box fashioned as a bureau; and a domed shaped inkwell with applied metal studs and wire handles. (4) * Condition: All pieces good with light surface only.
A Victorian silver christening tankard, Edward & John Barnard, London 1860, with repoussé decorated floral sprays in inverted love heart banding, later inscribed with initials and dated '3-2-1989', raised on stepped circular foot, c-scroll leaf capped handle and gilt interior, 3 5/8in. (9.3cm.) high, weight 4.8 tr.oz. * Very good with tiny nibbles and light surface wear.
An 1895 Pattern Scottish Officer's Broadsword, straight steel 79.5cm. blade, etched with 'VR' cypher, ricasso named for 'W M Anderson & Sons, 17 George St, Edinburgh', basket hilt pierced with heart and lozenge motifs, lined red cloth, wire bound fish-skin grip, original polished metal scabbard. * Very good , blade with no nicks etc, light wear only.
Five miniature Herend porcelain animal figurines, comprising a Fish, decorated in Vieux Herend (VH) red fish scale design, with coloured fins, 2½in. (6.4cm.) high; an Owl, decorated in Vieux Herend (VHV) green fish scale design, wings painted in blue, pink and light blue, gold highlights, 1¾in. (29cm.) high. * No glass, silver and backing appears very good, very light wear.
A rare Channel Islands silver circular three handled covered dish, maker's mark only, Dr. Angelo Nelson Symons, heavy gauge silver, of circular form with planished finish, three loop handles, applied wheat ear border, raised on three claw feet, the domed cover with wheat ear border and turned finial, 4 5/8in. (11.7cm.) diameter without handles, 4¾in. (12cm.) high with cover, weight 13.5 tr.oz. * Maker's mark only, tiny nicks to bowl and cover rims, one handle slightly bent at lower join, light surface marks, good.

(16.5 x 25.1cm.), late 19th century swept frame with gilt slip. * Provenance: Label verso for Richard Haworth, 25 Preston Road, Blackburn ** Condition: A little light foxing, otherwise good. Losses to frame.
An unusual 'Vickers Sons & Maxim Ld' gilt decorated bullet paperweight, the bullet decorated with gilded Royal crest to tip and manufacturer 'VICKERS SONS & MAXIM Ld' around body circumference, 4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) long. * Gilt decoration good, loss of facial features etc, light wear throughout.
Gustaaf Antoon Francois Heyligers (Dutch, 1828-1897), Preparing the Meal, oil on canvas, signed and dated 1865 lower left, 26 x 20 in. (66 x 50.8cm).* Provenance: Purchased from the P. Polak Gallery, 21 King Street, St James's, London, 11th March 1970 for £2,150. ** Born in Batavia in the Dutch East Indies in 1828, Gustaaf Antoon Francois Heyligers lived and worked mainly in Antwerp. He painted mostly genre scenes. He died in The Hague in 1897.** Condition: Picture is in good condition overall – clean, surface very stable, no visible damage. It has been lined and has a dust lining to the reverse of the canvas. The varnish has deteriorated a little and is slightly patchy when viewed at an angle with the light reflecting off the surface. There are a few small scattered retouches visible under UV light, plus a few slightly larger retouches to the upper right corner margins.
An Omega Seamaster De Ville automatic gentleman's stainless steel bracelet watch, c.1967, ref. 166.020, 30mm. silvered dial with gilt baton markers and date at three, Unishell 34.5mm. case., later stainless steel bracelet. * Winds and runs. Movement has not been examined. Dial good. Some deterioration to luming on hands and batons. A few light scratches to crystal. The strap is later and is damaged with a small link missing from both sides.
A collection of four silver vesta cases, of varying forms, dates and makers, three inscribed with initials; together with a M.O.P and silver fruit knife by William Needham, Sheffield 1905; and a novelty sweet shaped pill box, gross weight 4.0 tr.oz. (6) * M.O.P with crack to one end, vesta case with light surface wear and flea-bite nibbles, overall good.
A Rolex Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner 'Snowflake' watch, ref. 9411/0, no. 847056, believed c.1976, with matt blue dial and 'ghost' 60 minute rotating bezel, signed 25J automatic movement, cal. 2784, 39mm. Oyster case, Rolex triplock crown, 'Nato' black fabric strap, no box or papers. * Runs and winds. Keeps good time. Date and hands adjust correctly. Dial in excellent condition. The markers have aged to a creamy colour. Crystal has a light 1cm scratch between 12 and 1, and two tint frits to edge of crystal at 12. Bezel and case VG - very little wear with just a few small scratches to case. Nato strap lightly used.
A harlequin set of seven 19th century fiddle pattern dessert spoons, comprising four by William Eaton, London 1836, 7in. (17.8cm.) long; and three similar, all with inscribed initial 'H' to terminal, weight 10.8 tr.oz. (7) * All with light surface wear, two with slightly rubbed hallmarks, overall good.
A French silver gilt snuff box, indistinct marks, rectangular form with rounded corners, ornate wrigglework decoration throughout, the hinged cover with applied floral and foliate thumb piece, the centre with fancy engraved cartouche 'Presented to Alexr Bain. By his Son Donald 1855.', 3in. (7.6cm.) long, weight 2.0 tr.oz. * Split to back right corner, the base coming away on right and back lower edge, light gilt rubbing.
Eight 17th-18th century pewter plates, English & Continental, 8½in. to 9¾in. (21.5cm. to 24.75cm.) diameter, some polished, together with a Victorian quart tankard. (9) * Condition: Four have been polished in recent decades. The other four have more moderate polishing, with some patina remaining. All with expected knife marks. One with split to rim, another with long split around edge of well. Some dings and light dents. Touchmarks mostly worn, some remain legible. Tankard has repair to top of handle. Several dents to base edge. Some blistering to surface of metal throughout.
Two Middle Eastern white metal niello boxes, comprising a rectangular example, decorated with river boat scenes to underside and hinged cover, opening to reveal three compartments, probably for stamps, 3¼in. (8.2cm.) long; and a circular box with pull-off cover, decorated with figure on camel to lid and various scenes to circumference, 2¾in. (7cm.) diameter, both with indistinct signatures, otherwise unmarked, weight 8.9 tr.oz. (2) * Both boxes with light surface wear/scratches, good.
A Victorian cast silver christening fork and spoon, Martin Hall & Co., Sheffield 1853/54, with ornate grape vine decoration, the stems fashioned as woven vines, 6 3/8in. (16.2cm.) long; together with a cased Victorian christening set by John Taylor, London 1867, bright cut decoration, inscribed with initials, weight 5.3 tr.oz. * All pieces appear good, with light wear only.
Follower of Lu Ji (circa 1475-1503), probably Ming period, 17th / 18th century, a pheasant, pair of ducks, other birds and flowers, watercolour on linen, signed and with red seal to left side, 27¾ x 15¾in. (70.5 x 40cm.), framed and glazed. * Has not been examined out of the frame (which is fairly modern - 1980s-90s). The linen has toned to a light brown across the painting. Two patched thumbnail size holes with retouching to upper right hand side and one smaller to centre right side in blue blossom, plus a few other tiny retouches. A few small lighter spots to linen (possibly due to old cleaning).
Chanel - a black alligator Jumbo flap bag, c. 2010, with single outside pocket, silver hardware and black lambskin lined interior with zipped and open side pockets, 30cm. wide, 22cm. high, 33cm. shoulder drop, good condition, signs of light use, includes authenticity card, dust bag, copy of the original purchase invoice from the Chanel Boutique, New Bond Street, the original Chanel Alligator Quality Control paperwork and copy of the Jersey re-export CITES licence. * Alligator mississippiensis, Annexe CITES II-B. This lot is subject to international CITES regulations. ** In good condition overall with some signs of use - the exterior retains a good glossy lustre overall, with a few patches of matting to the glossy surface beneath the front flap. Some rubbing/contact marks to the underside and corners. The interior has some scratches to the lining throughout. The original box is not present.
George Morland (British, 1763-1804), "Two Rustics drinking Ale", oil on panel, signed with initials lower right, wax seal on reverse, 6 x 6½in. (15.2 x 16.5cm).* Provenance: Purchased from Spink & Sons, King Street, St James's, London 30th July 1969, for £175.** Condition: The panel is in good condition with no splits or damage. Some light craquelure to the paint across the surface and a small amount of light bitumenisation to the dark area of paint to the lower left. Under UV, there are some retouches visible to that area, to top centre in the foliage and scattered small retouches elsewhere - please see the UV photo.

(quantity) * Sovereign holder missing push button, etui missing inners, pill boxes etc with light wear.
Henry Bowser Wimbush (British, 1861-1943), Littlehampton harbour, West Sussex; Sussex landscape a pair, watercolour, both signed and dated 'H. B. Wimbush 1895' 8 5/8 x 15¾in. (22 x 40cm.). (2) * Provenance: Sotheby's, c.1990 ** Condition: Both good, with good colours and only light toning to paper. Small dark spot mark to right hand side of sky on Littlehampton harbour. In 1980s frames.
A Victorian silver presentation tankard, Thomas Smily, London 1873, of tapering cylindrical form, loop handle, engraved decorative bands, oval cartouche to either side, one with presentation inscription 'WEST GLOUCESTERSHIRE farmers Club ~~~1st Prize. 1872', opposing cartouche with engraved creature above banner 'VI ET VIRTUTE' (by strength and valor), 5 5/8in. (14.3cm.) high; together with a similar smaller version of plain form, same maker and date, the inscription similar but dated 1873, weight 23.4 tr.oz. (2) * Large - tiny surface marks, makers mark slightly rubbed, good. Small - light surface marks and dents, no decorative bands.
Jersey interest - a George III pierced silver swing handled cake basket, William Plummer, London 1773, oval form, pierced with stylised swags and floral decoration, chain swing handle, the flared oval trellis foot with rope twist border, the interior with coat of arms, 13½in. (34.3cm.) long, weight 22.4 tr.oz. * Coat of arms - Engraved in contemporaneous style with the shield and crest of Sparke, formerly of Nantwich, Cheshire differenced by an annulet for a fifth son. Burke, Sir B (1884) General Armour, page 951 notes that the heiress of the Jersey branch of the family married John Payn of St Martin's Jersey. The Sparke arms are blazoned: A chequered Gold and green shield charged with an Ermine bend. Crest: A demi-panther rampant guardant rising from a ducal coronet. The salver's engraver was possibly a provincial craftsman unused to international heraldic convention. A heraldic panther is a mythological animal and the engraver has correctly depicted the varied colour spots that adorn its body but omitted the flames and fire that conventionally issue from its ears and mouth. On the shield the engraver has correctly represented the gold squares with dots but has represented the green squares with crossed diagonal lines instead of the conventional top-left to bottom-right shading. ** Marks good, a few tiny shallow dents to well, strong handle, very light surface wear, strong decoration and engraving, very good.
A late Victorian silver vesta case, John Millward Banks, Chester 1899, rounded rectangular form, engraved to front with a soldier, the reverse inscribed 'S.W.S - D', the inner lip with flower motif, loop to hinged cover, striking plate to underside, 2 1/8in. (5.4cm.) long without loop, weight 1.16 tr.oz. * Nice condition, light wear only.
WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE - an extremely rare 3 5/8in. Malfrey pot and cover, first quarter 20th century, designed Daisy Makeig-Jones, decorated with Elves and Bell Branch pattern, depicting goblins and elves dancing on and around a mushroom, spider webs in the background against a midnight blue lustre glaze, the cover with a fairy to centre of spider web with gold gilded spider at one side with small fairies and leaves randomly scattered, the inner of lid with central large spider in web with scattered flies and flowers on light green lustre ground, underside with gold and black Portland vase mark and "Wedgwood England", also indistinct pattern no. (possibly Z208) - please see photo.* A very similar Malfrey pot and cover sold for $31,050.00 at Murphy Auctions in their Lamp & Glass sale in 2007, lot 395.** Very good / excellent condition, no chips, cracks or hairlines found, two tiny marks to gilt on fairy to centre of web on cover, some seepage from lustre bleeding into green glaze at base underside and inner pot, pattern number indistinct but visible.
A George V silver engine turned cigarette case, Frederick Field, Birmingham 1920, rectangular form, gilt wash interior, 5 5/8in. (14.4cm.) long; together with a square engine turned cigarette case by Henry Williamson Ltd., Birmingham 1921, engraved to inner 'W. M. N. H. LE. N. R 2.4. 23', 3 3/8in. (8.6cm.) square; a matchbox sleeve by E J Trevitt & Sons, Chester 1924, inscribed 'H. Rabey'; and a silver cigarette box with rubbed hallmarks, weight without box, 10.7 tr.oz. (4) * Cigarette box with dents to corners and edges, rubbed hallmarks, other pieces good with light wear and tiny nibbles etc, overall good.
A Channel Islands silver Jersey pattern christening cup, maker's mark GS beneath a fleur-de-lys and coronet struck once below rim (unknown, Jersey, c.1680-1722), of large proportions, the deep, slightly planished cup form bowl in heavy gauge silver, with no foot and twin cast scroll handles, inscribed 'ALB' below rim, 1¾in. (4.6cm.) high, 5 5/8in. (14.4cm.) between handles, weight 5.6 tr.oz. * Maker's mark slightly rubbed, light surface scratches etc, overall very good.

Solingen: the curved single edged blade with blued and gilt decoration of floral sprays, militaria, crown and 'GR' cipher, signed to back of blade as per title, over a steel hilt with double langets and single quillon, single bar guard , wire bound black leather grip and plain back strap, together in a polished steel scabbard with double suspension loops, blade length 82cm.
An 1882 pattern Light Cavalry Officers sword by Henry Wilkinson, London for Captain Arthur Augustus Bright-Smith, 3rd Kings Own Hussars,: the acid etched blade with crown and 'VR' cipher and armorial over the initials 'ABS', serial number to back of blade '25764', makers mark as per title to shoulder, over a steel hilt with single quillon and three bar guard, wire bound fish skin grip and gilt and red bullion loop, together in a steel scabbard with double suspension rings, blade length 88.5cm.*Notes- The records for Wilkinson Sword show that this sword was made for a Captain Bright-Smith in 1884, This was one month after his transfer to the 3rd Kings Own Hussars
