His initials ‘J.W.C.K’ are embossed to the leather case and etched to the bino’s themselves along with ‘DCLI’. He would serve with the 3rd East Africa Bn of the Kings Africa Rifles in 1902, worthy of further research.

The insignia all of which is original to the jacket, has the embroidered SLI titles, printed 43rd Division patches, matching pair of ‘stay bright’ collar dogs, as well as LI corporal stripes and the ‘Territorial Army Emergency Reserve’ TAER, patches to both arms. Third Reich DLV Flyers Knife by Paul Weyersberg & Co, Solingen, untouched example of an early nickel plated flyers knife with blue leather covered grip, cross guard with black enamel swastikas to the centres, side of the guard with ‘K’ mark. Housed in its scabbard with original leather hanging strap. Top scabbard throat with the DLV winged emblem stamp. Double edged blade with makers trademark to the base. Blade shows wear. Does not quite fit in the scabbard, in need of some light restoration. Accompanied by a brown leather belt strap with ink stampings to the reverse. (2 items) These items belonged to the vendors uncle, Ludwig Schroedinger, who served in the Luftwaffe, flying Me-109’s.
