Augustus Henry FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton KG PC (1735-1811), became Prime Minister in 1768 at the age of 33, leading the supporters of William Pitt. He was the youngest person to have held the office until the appointment of William Pitt the Younger 15 years later. Grafton was the first British Prime Minister, before Sir Anthony Eden, to be divorced and the second, after Sir Robert Walpole, to marry while in office. Lady Augusta Tavel (n‚e FitzRoy, 1779-1839) and Lady Isabella Blachford (n‚e FitzRoy, d.1866) were both daughters of Augustus Henry FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton by his second marriage. Augusta Louisa Murray Gartshore (1812-1915) was the grandaughter of the 3rd Duke of Grafton. (1)
