Red plain weave skirt at top end. Dark blue field with a myriad of medallions in a glorious palette with random small peacocks and other small birds taking refuge among the ornaments; wide light red main border of large flowerheads and boteh within ivory scrolling floral guards. Lustrous wool, rich palette and soft handle.
Modern suzani, Uzbekistan, second half 20th century, 85in. X 57in. 216cm. X 145cm. The undyed cotton ground embroidered principally in pale yellow, pale apricot and light green with a central tree and pomegranates filling the field within a flowerhead border. Three widths sewn together. Unlined.

Ivory field with a tree at the base, the six branches framing the field and scrolling together at the top of the mihrab; the prayer niche filled with many flowers and foliage; the earthy terracotta spandrels at the top each with a cartouche of a bird; light terracotta floral main border. Close clipped velvety wool and soft palette.
