The Gondolo collection pays tribute to the famous retailer Gondolo & Labouriai in Rio de Janeiro. Patek Philippe and Gondolo & Labouriai shared a strong and successful business relationship between 1872 and 1927. Initially pocket watches were made, but this changed in the 1920s when wristwatches added to the collection. The ref. 5135 takes inspiration from the Art Deco style and is cased in an 18 carat white gold tonneau shaped case. The elegant case houses the fine automatic movement, cal. 324/205. This is a development of the cal. 315/198, released in 1996, the first annual calendar automatic movement requiring one manual correction per year on the 31st March. The silvered dial displays the day, date and month in arc at the top of the dial, while a subsidiary dial sits at 6 o'clock, displaying 24 hours and phases of the moon.
