A post 1902 Welch Regiment Field Officers Dress Cap in black cloth with broad red band and piping with Regimental cap badge 'The Welch', the peak with broad gilt braid border. With leather band to the interior. 26cm wide. 31cm front to back. And a similar cap with dark blue velvet band and lacking cap badge (2) *Condition: First externally good with light cracking to peak and loss of colour to braid, internally with signs of wear, Second more recent manufacture.
With a decorative fluted bowl inlaid with scrolling silver and gilt damascene type decoration, the rim with islamic script. the finial on an inverted flower shaped mount, with adjustable nose guard and two further mounts, with iron chain mail to the back and sides. The interior with apparently original padded crimson lining. 38cm high, 27cm wide *Condition: light surface rust to chain mail and rubbing to decoration and areas of loss to decoration, interior distressed.
A magnificent 1843-47 Pattern Officer's in gilt brass with a tall central plume, the sides with elaborate scrolling foliage, topped by a black horse-hair plume, the front of the helmet with a large helmet plate of a rayed background, Royal Coat of Arms and battle honour of 'Waterloo' above a band with '1st or The King's Dragoon Guards' and with oak leaves to the rear, with large rosette strap mounts and finely worked chin strap with lion's paw clasp. 34cm high, 33cm front to back *Condition: light dents and scuffs to surface, top plume probably replaced. A magnificent helmet in nice condition.
An 1871 pattern helmet with 1st King's Dragoon Guards helmet plate with the number '1' against a black ground and many pointed star, the helmet with foliate band and backstrap, rosette chin strap mounts and multi-link chain, with faceted spike and red plume. The interior with replaced liner, 40cm tall, 24cm deep *Condition: Good condition, plume and interior replaced, with occasional light dents and surface marks.
An Edwardian black cloth Shako with silver bullion bands to the body, the chin-chain with twin fixing points, the point rear in the form of finely worked Prince of Wales' Feathers, with a red wool 'pom pom' in decorative silver mount. The helmet plate for the Welsh Regiment, 7th (Cyclists) Battalion which was formed in 1908. With red silk lining with feint mark, possibly for Samuel Brothers Limited. 19cm high, 24cm front to back *Condition: Light moth damage to the top , marks to surfaces and lining loose. A nice example.

The helmet with three holes for liner attachments and two air vents, with unrolled edge and indistinctly stamped qL64 511- to the interior. The liner in light brown with eight 'tongues', and thin black chin strap *Condition: Degradation and light rust to the surface, liner possibly a replacement.
With an 88cm Damascus barrel, with heavy duty ebonised ram rod below, muzzle loading with a percussion firing action with sliding safety operating on half-cock. The lockplate signed C. Griffiths, with an elaborate engraved, scrolling trigger guard and mount. With a well cross-hatched stock, 129cm overall *Condition: A few light scuffs and marks, but a fine gun in nice condition. The action functions correctly.

And a Dollond of London three drawer telescope with leather cover. 24cm closed, 72cm fully extended *Condition: Signs of solder repair to one join, light denting and scuffing to surfaces on the first second with light surface marks. Lenses appear in good order.
With a 91cm octagonal iron barrel inlaid with a large gilt butterfly, and with incised Japanese text to either side, fitted with moulded foresight and block rear-sight. The action with a large external main spring, hand-cocked serpentine match-holder and ball trigger. 128cm overall *Condition: Light pitting to the barrel, slight scuffing to timber. With a postcard of five German soldiers and another 'We'll Meet Again' written in pencil from Gnr Turner on November 1st 1916 giving details of trenches, barbed wire and new explosive. With two books on First World War Postcards *Condition: Some light spotting but generally with good colours, a well chosen collection.

Regarding troop movements shortly before the battle of Talavera. 'I have the Honor to inform you that I have received the order¦to send to Gibraltar the 2nd Batln. 9th regt. to relieve one of the regts for which transports have been ordered to that Garrison; and I shall be much obliged by you if you will give directions that transports may be prepared to convey the 2nd 9th to Gibraltar as soon as that Corps will arrive at Lisbon.' *Condition: Original light folds and very occasional spotting.

Explaining his criteria concerning the recommendations for medals in the Peninsula War which ended after the battle of Toulouse on 10 April, 'I have received your letter of 16th March regarding the recommendations for the Medals for the Battle of Victoria. I make a distinction between a general action in which we pursue the Enemy from the ground, and one in a defensive position¦.I hope that this explanation will be satisfactory to His Royal Highness.' *Condition: Original light folds and very occasional spotting.
Jourdan, Jean Baptise, French Marshal. Letter signed 'Jourdan' to the Duc de Bellune, 21?2 pp., in French, folio, Illescas, 2 August 1809. Written five days after the battle of Talavera, he urgently requests information and gives instructions for various troop movements depending on those of Wellington. Also giving details of the French reaction to Wellington's victory. From the Crawford collection *Condition: Original light folds, light spotting.
With a 10.5cm barrel, marked to the side of the barrel 'CAL 4.5mm (.177)'. marked to the body 'Made in Germany', and to the top of the body 'Haenal Mod 26 Brit Pat No. 27726 D.R.P. The action with push button release, two part wooden grip. 27cm overall *Condition: Action stiff but appears to function, original surface with some loss of paint and light marking.
An award or souvenir medal, obverse with a female wreathed figure presenting laurels to a figure presenting a model of a church, with other figures and buildings behind, the reverse 'Szekesfehervari Orszagis Kialitas 1879' Szekesfehervari being a city in central Hungary. 5cm. The case with a paper label 'Prize Medal with certificate for excellence of wine on my Hungarian-Ralkosky Vineyard' *Condition: light surface marks, generally good. Case poor. Certificate mentioned in text not included with the medal.
A silver Art Union of London Medal, obverse portrait bust r. beneath the bust 'Wilson S.C.' reverse facade of St Paul's Cathedral, the edge marked 'Art Union of London 1846', 58cm. In red leather case of issue with gilt Coat of arms to the top, hinge broken. Eimer 1411, BHM 2232. The silver examples of the Art Union Medals are much scarcer than the bronze, awarded to craftsmen and artists whose work the Art Union approved of, Eimer suggests as few as 30 of each medal in silver might have been produced *Condition: Case distressed with broken hings, medal with slight marks and very light surface scratches, a nice example.
With a 9.5cm octagonal barrel with scrolling foliate engraving, with a five shot revolving barrel, double action and side-mounted Tranter Patent ejector lever to the right of the gun. On a finely cross-hatched walnut stock with engraved oval steel butt-plate. 22cm overall. In a light oak fitted box, the rectangular top with a circular vacant brass escutcheon, internally fitted with section drilled for cartridges, steel cleaning rod and wire worm. The box 27cm wide *Condition: Some areas of original blueing, light scuffing to surfaces, light marks and knocks to exterior of box.
A Webley Senior Air Pistol marked 'The Webley Senior Made in England' and 'Webley and Scott, Ltd Birmingham', with numerous patents to both sides of the end of the body, numbered S1440, With two part plastic grip. 21cm *Condition: Appears to function correctly, good original surface with some light marking and variation in surface.
With 66cm side by side ejector barrels with three inch chambers, marked Gunmark - Kestrell, numbered 285883, 1100Kp/cm 10.4 and 10.0. with engraved box lock action with scrolling foliate decoration, similarly, numbered 285223, with twin triggers and engraved trigger guard, sliding safety and cross hatched stock, 108cm overall. THE PURCHASER OF THIS GUN MUST HAVE A VALID SHOTGUN LICENSE *Condition: Action and barrels nice and clean, stock with some light scuffing.

With a broad 90cm long slightly curved single edged spear pointed blade with broad fuller, marked to the back 'Reeves' and to the ricasso with inspection marks. With a three bar steel hilt and two part leather grip with five rivets, and domed pommel, the scabbard with twin suspension points and marked with previous owners initials R.W.Y.C. 107cm overall *Condition: Light pitting to surfaces, wear to grip. previous owners accession number.
With a 90cm tapering pointed blade of oval section with central fuller, the blade not sharpened, the ricasso marked in French script, possibly dating the sword to 1924. With a three bar guard and oval pommel. With leather sword knot and strap hanger, in scabbard with single ring suspension. 106cm overall. And a reproduction 17th century sword with decorated blade and sculptural grip, 103cm overall *Condition: Light marking to surface throughout on the first, blade clean, the second with light rust.
With an 83cm tapering and pointed blade with partial double fuller, with inset gilt 'Proved' disc to the ricasso. The basket hilt pierced heart decoration, the grip with bound fish-skin cover, with a removable hilt lining, with domed pommel. The scabbard with twin ring suspension and ball terminal. 100cm overall *Condition: Surface corrosion and light rust throughut.
With an 87cm spear pointed blade with flat back and broad fuller, etched with VR monogramme and Crown within scrolling foliate decoration. With three bar hilt and short forward facing quillon, wire bound grip and stepped oval pommel. The steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 105cm *Condition: Light corrosion to scabbard and slight dents. General wear and marking. Previous owners acquisition number.
With a slightly curved 88cm single edged pointed blade with broad fuller. The blade etched 'Straits Settlement Police' beneath a Crown, also marked for the maker possibly… Stewart, the back numbered 39553. With three bar hilt and short forward facing quillon, wire bound grip and domed pommel. In steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 109cm overall *Condition: rubbing to blade and general light surface wear.
With a narrow tapering and pointed 89cm blade with fuller, marked to the back P'08, Government issue broad arrow to the ricasso and marked for 'Mole 'and with various inspection marks. With a broad steel guard and moulded grip. In steel scabbard with twin ring suspension and stamped marks including a Government arrow. 110cm overall *Condition: Tight in scabbard, surface marks, light scuffs and signs of age.
With a 74.5cm slightly curved blade with fuller and spear point, the blade sharpened for active service and etched with a battleship, Imperial Reichs Crown over a fouled anchor, all amongst scrolling foliage. The guard with double folding inner and outer sections, the larger with fouled anchor, all with further scrolling foliage, with an ivory grip with wire binding, the pommel with lion's head set with red and greed eyes. Mounted with a second World War Kriegsmarine sword knot. The leather scabbard with engraved brass mounts, with twin ring suspension loops. With a black leather sword belt and twin hangers with Reichsmarine buckle marked for A.W. & S. Berlin. The grip engraved internally 'M. Tikrem C.L.' (?) and 'Dohnka'. 89cm overall. With copied research and images of some of Dohnka's ships. Research accompanying the sword suggests that Dohnka relates to Emil Dohnke who was born on the 22nd May 1879, he joined the Imperial Navy in 1896 as an artillery mechanic being promoted to the officer's rank of Lieutenant Ordnance Specialist (Feuerwerks-Leutnenat) on the 19th July 1911. He served in the artillery department of the Imperial Shipyard (Kaiserliche Werft) in Kiel and on the 22nd March 1914 he was promoted to Feuerwerks-Oberleutnant (Lieutenant Senior Grade). Following the beginning of the First World War he was posted to the ammunition depot of the German Navy Corps in Flanders. He appears to have retired from active service on the 30th October 1915 retiring from the Navy in 1918. By July 1st 1934 he had rejoined the Reichsmarine as a Lieutenant Commander and Erganzungs-Offizer (Supplement Officer), a branch of the Navy created for specialists in Artillery, Mine Sweeping or Torpedo operation. He remained at the Naval Arsenal in Kiel rising to the rank of Fregattenkapitan (Commander Senior Grade). He seems to have left the Navy at this time and celebrated his 100th birthday in Hamburg in 1979. A photocopied report of his 100th birthday celebrations is included with copied research relating to this combatant from the First and Second World Wars . A Cites License has been applied for MUVZ2SVW *Condition: Repair to split in scabbard, part of wire grip binding lacking, some light marking to blade.
With an unmarked 81cm pipe-backed pointed blade, the brass guard with gothic type decoration, with a Lion rampant within an oak wreath, with wire hound grip, variant to the usual 'S' shaped folding guard and stepped oval pommel, in a brass scabbard with twin ring suspension. 97cm overall. . Perhaps an East India Company issue *Condition: Dent to scabbard, dent to guard , light scuffing throughout and wear to grip. Previous owners accession mark.
With a 76cm tapering blade with pointed end, decorated with a Crown amongst conjoined initials and 'IV' marked for Firmin & Sons 153 Strand London. The gilt guard with similar crown above crossed branches, the wire bound grip with slender bow and crown pommel. With bullion wire sword knot. In a mounted leather scabbard, the top mount marked Firmin & Son Sword Cutler to his Majesty 153 Strand London'. 103cm overall *Condition: light surface rust to blade, break to centre of scabbard.
With a 91cm curved blade with pointed tip and sharpened edge, with a broad fuller and narrow fuller above, engraved to the back of the blade and dated 1899 (?). The heavy brass three bar guard stamped '406', with wire bound grip and oval pommel. With steel scabbard with single ring suspension. 110cm overall *Condition: Light scuffs and marks to surfaces, the scabbard with light dents, engraving to the back rubbed. With previous owners accession number.
With an 82cm pipe backed spear pointed blade, etched to either side with VR beneath a Crown and amongst foliage, marked to the ricasso 'Hamburger Rogers & Co. 30 King St. Covent Garden, London, with a pierced half basket hilt with gothic pointed arches and oval hilt cartouche with Royal Cypher, folding internal guard section, wire bound shagreen grip and stepped pommel. In a brass scabbard for Field Rank Officers, with twin ring suspension. 99cm overall *Condition: Blade in very nice condition with an old layer of grease that has been protecting it for many years. Light dents to the scabbard. A fine example.
With a 99.5cm straight single edged pointed blade with full length double fullers. With issue stamps to the top of the blade and indistinctly marked and dated 1819 to the back. With a heavy four bar brass hilt, wire bound grip and pommel cap with oval pommel, marked with issue marks and numbers to the bow '419'. In heavy steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 120cm overall. This pattern was introduced in 1812 with scabbard fragments found on the battlefield at Waterloo *Condition: Slight pitting to scabbard, light marking to blade which is generally good, previous owners accession number.

Marked to the ricasso for Reeves Creaves & Co. sword manufacturer to Her Majestys Honble Board of Ordnance and the Honble East India Compy Charlotte Birm.'. With a three bar hilt, short forward facing quillon, wire bound grip and stepped oval pommel. With steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 108cm overall *Condition: Light dents and scuffs to scabbard, light rubbing and surfacxe degradation to blade, generally a good early sword.
With a 90cm curved blade with pointed end and broad fuller, marked to the ricasso '… eckmann Solingen', with broad steel guard, wire bound grip and brown leather sword knot. With an 86cm single edged pointed and fullered blade by E&F Horster, Solingen, Germany, with etched decoration of Royal Cypher and shield, with presentation inscription 'Presented to QRIH by Corporal's Mess. With a wire bound shagreen pistol type grip within a broad guard with 'Honeysuckle' type decoration. The polished steel scabbard with twin rig suspension. 108cm overall *Condition: Polished surfaces, light signs of wear to surfaces.
An 1897 Pattern sword with an 82cm tapering pointed blade with George V cypher and etched decoration, the blade marked for Rob Mole and Sons, Birmingham, maker to the War and India Offices. Marked M904 to the back of the blade, the full guard with pierced scrolling decoration and George V cypher, with wire bound shagreen grip and domed pommel. In leather covered service scabbard with frog and hangers. 102cm overall. This sword belonged to Noel Hubert Fortt from Bath who served with the 2/4th Somerset Light Infantry as a Second Lieutenant attached to the Royal Sussex Regiment. Rising to the rank of Lieutenant he was injured whilst serving in India and eligible for a Silver War Badge. During the Second World War he served with the Home Guard. With a photograph of Fortt in Home Guard uniform, Somerset Light Infantry wall plaques, button and blazer badge *Condition: Slight degradation to small areas of blade, scuffing to scabbard.
With a 67.5cm broad fullered blade with sharpened edge and etched in cyrillic with initials 'ERII' beneath a Crown. With a brass hilt with double shell guard and grip, the 'D' shaped bow stamped to both sides with inspectors marks, a further inspection mark to the blade. 93cm overall. Catherine the Greats reign from 1762-1796 saw numerous conflicts including The Seven Years War, the Pomeranian War against Sweden, wars against the Turks, Circassians, Poles and others. It is also likely that such a sword could also have been used during the Napoleonic Wars. See 'Russian Sidearms, Polearms & Bayonets' by A.N. Kulinsky, 2001. p176, N67 *Condition: Pitting and degradation to blade in places and very end of point lacking, rubbing and light dents to brass guard and grip.

In a steel scabbard with twin ring suspension, 98cm overall *Condition: rubbing to sword blade, light pitting to scabbard especially towards the toe.
