Mounted for display, with a quantity of research. Military Medal London Gazette 27 October 1916.Charles Frederick Hutton came from Gateshead-on-Tyne and enlisted on 6 May 1911. As a Lance-Corporal in the Durham Light Infantry he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 20 April 1915. Awarded the M.M. and Bar. He was discharged on 5 June 1919 and awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot).Gateshead newspaper: Sergt Hutton was awarded the Military Medal and Bar for conspicuous gallantry during active operations. When most of the stretcher bearers had become causalities Sergt Hutton organised bearer parties, and collected many wounded under intense fire. He was awarded a Bar to his MM in July, 1918. Sergt Hutton worked for six days collecting and attending to wounded. Sergt Hutton was on a hospital ship when it was torpedoed. He had a broken arm and other injuries, and had to slide down a plank to the rescuing ship, being unable to get off the boat in

Scottish. Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) Rifleman Shako. A good pre-WW1 example, black cloth with black cord lines forming a plaited festoon in front. Black bugle-horn badge below corded boss bearing a mullet. Leather peak and chin strap. The lining stencilled "WD 9/1910". Complete with plume, overall GC some age and light moth.
Berkshire Rifle Volunteers Victorian Officer shako circa 1860. A good rare example with grey cloth body and crown with patent leather squared peak. Scarlet piping around the crown seam and down the reverse beneath the Gorgon head. Black patent leather band on light green backing around the base of the body. The front retains a die-stamped white metal crowned Garter; to the voided centre, white metal BRV cypher on wire gauze. Interior with padded crimson silk lining and cream leather deep sweatband, topped with adjustable crimson silk (slightly AF), bearing ink name Lieut. Morland 4th Berks VRC. Complete with green (faded) woollen tuft (pom-pom) on plaited crimson base. Service wear Chin strap absent. Major Edward Morland, Ensign 5th April 1860 4th (Abingdon) Corps, Lieutenant 1863.

Fine rare silvered crowned star mounted with pierced gilt title circlet on mirrored backing resting in laurel sprays; the black leather centre bearing gilt Enniskilling Castle with a bugle in the foreground. Mounted on the lower section of laurels, a gilt scroll UT PROAVI. Three loops. VGC Raised at Enniskillen in 1793 as Fermanagh Militia, redesigned Light Infantry in 1855, became 3rd Bn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on 1st July 1881.
Fife Light Horse Victorian Trooper helmet. A good example of the 1871 pattern silvered helmet. To the front, a regimental pattern helmet plate bearing the Thane of Fife on horseback wearing full armour set against a gilt brass ribbed satire. Two rose head bosses support a incorrect gilt interlinked chin chain, with leather backing. A silvered spike supports a white horsehair plume, with gilt metal rose boss. The interior with leather sweatband. Overall GC some dents to skull, minor service and age wear, stitching faults to the chin chain. This pattern of helmet was approved by the regiment in 1896
Somerset Light Infantry 1878 pattern Officer helmet. A good post 1901 example of the Home Service Pattern Green cloth helmet by Hawkes of London complete with gilt metal furniture, rose bosses supporting a velvet backed chin chain. To the front, a gilt metal regimental pattern plate with title scroll Somersetshire Light Infantry. Retains leather sweatband with crimson silk edging. The interior with ink label. Gilt has toned GC ... Accompanied by an associated metal transit/storage tin.

Complete with plaited cap lines and green woollen ball tuft. The interior is with leather sweatband and scarlet silk lining with tailor gold stamp. Overall GC slight age wear. Chinstrap absent. PLEASE NOTE The shako is of Officer quality but now fitted to the front with an Other Rank badge and white metal thistle device ... Accompanied by an associated shako storage tin. Possibly worn by a Senior N.C.O.

Near VGC. The helmet and plume are housed in original steel transit/storage tins. Accompanied by an old luggage label with printed name Hutchison.

German Third Reich Kriegsmarine Officer dagger circa 1938-45 by Eickhorn, Solingen with straps. A good example, the anchor etched blade with double fuller and to the forte the stamped cutler post 1941 backward looking squirrel logo. Gilt metal mounts, twist wire bound simulated ivory grip,complete with scabbard securing button; REPLACEMENT eagle and swastika pommel. Housed in gilt metal scabbard with engraved lighting bolts, oak leaf supports for the two loose suspension rings with two gilded aluminium lion head mounted black straps (both missing sting clips). Dull, minor service wear. Light pitting to blade in parts. GC
German Third Reich SA Stormtrooper dagger by scarce maker C.G.Haenel, Suhl. A good clean example with nickel mounts, the blade etched Alles fur Deutschland and bearing maker logo. Nickel cross guard stamped Mi (SA Group Mitte). Light brown grained wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SA device. Housed in original brown anodised scabbard with nickel mounts and a single suspension ring with leather strap, spring clip, belt loop and loop for top of grip. Minor service wear otherwise VGC.

A good example the 32 inch blade with engraved decoration depicting a Royal Coat of Arms, GR Crowned cypher, Britannia and a mounted cavalry Officer. The hilt with single bar guard, and ribbed leather grip. Housed in steel scabbard, with two loose rings. The blade was originally half length blue and gilt decoration and with only traces of gilt. Overall GC
Napoleonic War Period 1796 Light Cavalry Officer Sword. A good example the 27 inch blade with engraved decoration depicting a Royal Coat of Arms, GR crowned cypher and trophy of war. Single bar guard, the grip retaining twist wire binding. Complete with steel scabbard, with two loose rings. Overall GC chip to the grip.
Edward VII 1821 Pattern Hussar Officer Sword. A good scarce example of the pattern carried by Officer of Light Cavalry Hussar Regiments during the reign of King Edward VII. The single edged slightly curved blade with retailed through Hawkes of London and has etched decoration of a Crowned EVIIR cypher. The hilt with three bar guard which encloses a shagreen grip with rounded chequered decorated pommel. Housed in polished steel scabbard with two loose rings. Blade length 35 inches GC.

The blade with etched decoration of a Crowned VR cypher and a panel with IV P.I. The hilt with bar guard incorporating a Crowned bugle device and shagreen grip. A REGENCY ROSEWOOD AND BRASS INLAID DISPLAY CABINETIn two sections, with concealed frieze drawer, 64cm wide; 153cm highCondition report: There have been some later adaptions/alternations to this cabinet. The backboards to the reverse are later painted backboards, suggesting a marriage of parts and later adaptions at some point.Overall, the brass inlay is in relatively good order and intact. Unusually the feet are gilt-metal mounted both to the back and inside, with some losses to these mounts. See photographs. The upper section has been altered, with later lining to the interior, the glazing later, probably originally the doors would have been panelled, to match the base. The side carrying handles are possibly a later association. The top does not sit fully comfortably on the cabinet top, but instead there are three thin runners on which it sits on the cabinet below, and is screwed into position. (Lacking screws)The hidden frieze drawer and concealed compartment behind the pediment. Otherwise, light scuffs and scratches, minor chips and bruises, commensurate with use and age. Notably a small section of veneer chipped off to the back edge of the side (with the lot).

No major damage or faults, key present. One piece of moulding detached from right hand side, we have, easy fix. On the main photo the cupboard door is slightly open but is in perfect condition. Would benefit from a light wax.
