Oil on hardboard. The painting is in a good condition overall, the board is in plane with no deformations. There is a small loss to the paint layer at the lower right corner. There are a few light accretions on the surface of the painting. The frame is in a good condition.

A Swiss silver and enamelled case strut bedside clock, pale blue ground with engine turning and white floral motifs, oval gilt dial marked 'J E Caldwell & Co', with modern replacement movement 8.50 x 6cm (3 x 2in) Provenance: Ennismore Gardens, Knightsbridge, London SW7 Condition:There are some surface age marks and light scratches. The frame edges are rather tarnished. The dial has a blemish between 5 and 6 o'clock. Movement has not been tested and is a much later replacement. The strut back now lacks most of the original gilt finish

Iron hilt with pitting and damage to the grip. Scabbard with deep pitting.
