A late 19th/early 20th century Austrian gilt metal and enamel musical box modelled as a grand piano, the two hinged covers decorated with scenes of lovers, the keyboard section similarly decorated also with painted keys, with Swiss clockwork movement, stamped 'Made in Austria' to underside, 8.8 x 17.4cm.Additional InformationFunctional at point of cataloguing. Some light general wear to the enamel, light pitting, some rubbing dust and dirt, tarnish and discolouration as well as rubbing to the gilt metal, the legs are quite loose and one has been knocked inwards at an angle, so there is some misshaping to this box.
A large late 19th century Chinese porcelain blue and white charger, decorated throughout with cranes, six character mark to the underside of the base and an old inventory number 5.2066, diameter 64cm (repair).Additional InformationThere is a large section of the rim which has broken away and been glued and riveted back many years ago, there is wear where the metal bracket meets the rim and other glaze imperfections and light surface scratches here and there.

A late 19th century Cantonese lacquered box decorated with scenes of figures and pavilions in gardens, height 12cm, width 27cm, together with a late 19th century Japanese lacquered box and cover and internal liner, inlaid with mother of pearl and abalone shell flowers and birds, height 8cm, and a Continental hand painted walnut circular biscuit box with metal liner (3).Additional InformationThe larger lacquered box with age wear scuffs and scratches throughout and rubbing to the gilding and the painted decoration, there are several cracks and lifting patches to the lacquer, and losses to corners, etc, somewhat tired in appearance, the lid to the Japanese lacquer box is lacking one of the side panels and one of the other side panels is broken and very loose, light age wear, knocks and scuffs around the edge here and there, the circular box with general light age wear and some rubbing to the paint work.

Two cast iron Dinah money boxes, tallest 16cm, together with a Viceroy German hexagonal concertina, a pair of Lemaire extra luminous 8x30 binoculars with a leather case and a pair of Scope 9x35 binoculars model number 3831 (5).Additional InformationThe money boxes are not original but later copies, both with general age wear rubbing throughout. The concertina with general light rubbing at the edges, but the bellows appear to be ok. The French binoculars with rubbing to the black lacquering throughout. Lenses lightly grubby and the right hand eye piece lens does appear to have some scratches to the surface. The binoculars do focus, the case is generally rubbed and worn and rather tired. The other binoculars appear ok but the case is in poor condition and the lenses are dusty and grubby.

SPAIN; The Order of Isabella the Catholic, a Knight’s Commander’s insignia comprising Grand Cross (width 67mm) and neck badge on laurel suspension and cream ribbon, both in gilt metal and enamel (2).Awarded to Alfred Wilby Tait who was created a baron (Barao de Soutelinho) by King Carlos of Portugal in recognition of his botanical works with specific reference to Portuguese wild flowers and had an iris named after him. The Order of Isabella was instituted by King Ferdinand VII in 1815 to reward services to the Spanish state of a civil nature.Additional InformationSome very light nicks and scratches, ribbon frayed.
