A Martin Brothers stoneware vase incised with perennial sunflower sprays in shades of white blue and green on a brown ground 3-1889 R.W.Martin & Bros London & Southall light firing cracks to base 22cm. high. Malcolm Haslam The Martin Brothers Potters Richard Dennis Publications illustrates a botanical watercolour drawing by W E Willy dated 1889. Walter Edward Willy joined the Martin Brothers at their Pomona House works and stayed with them until 1899 when his eyesight began to fail.
A 3. 1/2in gauge 4-6-2. tank locomotive No 251 built to a very high standard by the late Mr R Colbran of Stockport with copper boiler the fittings including water and pressure gauges safety whistle clack valve and blow down plug. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders fluted motion steam driven vertical pump valve gear injector hand feed pump cab controls including regulator sight glass pressure gauge and other usual fittings. The locomotive is finished in light blue and black livery. Some boiler history to include boiler certificate number N4-80-3. The Northern Association of Model Engineers. Working pressure 80psi. Certificate expired the 1st of April 2003. Model 92cm long in total.
A well engineered 7. 1/4in gauge 2-4-4. ‘Lucky 7’ Sandy River & Rangely Lakes Railroad Maine USA locomotive and tender scratch built by Tony Mattock to the designs by Don Young. The steel coal fired boiler having 8mm copper tubes with fittings including water sight glass pressure gauge shut off cocks regulator with extension twin safety valves injector steam brake steam water pump and hand pump whistle clack injector pump and blow down valves. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with Walschaert’s valve gear machined motion twin mechanical lubricators. The locomotive is finished in blue and black livery with traditional American style wooden cab cow catcher and light to top of smoke box with polished bright steelwork. 150cm long in total. Boiler History Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies Boiler Test Certificate No 2729. Valid until the 23rd of April 2006. Test pressure 250psi.
