Late Victorian diamond and sapphire three stone ring with an oval mixed cut blue sapphire measuring approximately 7.1mm x 6.6mm x 4.15mm, flanked by two old cut diamonds in carved gold setting with rose cut diamond accents to the claws. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 1ct. Ring size N.Condition report: The ring is in good condition commensurate with age. The claws and setting seem secure. The ring we believe dates to the late 19th century and was formely the property of the vendors late Aunt. The sapphire is in good condition with only very light surface abrasions to the facets. There is an even distribution of colour throughout the stone. The stone has not been tested for natural origin / enhancement. The diamonds are of good colour and clarity. The band is not Hallmarked but believed to be 18ct gold. total gross weight approximately 3.8 grams.

The emerald has very light surface scratches and very minor abrasions to the facets. The diamonds are all well matched stones and of good colour and clarity. The setting is in good condition. The repeating mechanism does strike correctly although the watch is not currently running, however it does tick form a few seconds when given a gentle shake. It is fully wound. The functions appear to adjust correctly. The enamel dial is in perfect condition. The glass is missing from the front. The front and sides of the case are free from dents. The back of the case has a raised 'pinhead' dent to the inner cover and corresponding dent to the outer case cover. Light surface scratches and very minor dents to the back of the case. The case and inner cover are all 18ct, the bow is plated. Gross weight approximately 132.8 grams.

There are numerous scratches and scuffs across the surface which can be seen in the images. Stretcher marks visible on all four sides. There is no apparent overpainting visible under a uv light.
Attributed to Adriaen Van Ostade (1610 - 1685) oil on panel- beggar proffering his begging bowl, in black and gilt frame. 13 x 10cm.Condition report: It appears the panel has been cut down slightly at some stage to make it fit the frame. The Old Rectory, East Bergholt, 14th March 1972Condition report: The work is in genrally good sound condition and basically ready to hang. It has been re-lined but many decades ago, it was cleaned and restored in 1988 by Rosalind Whitehouse. Areas of overpainting visible under a UV light. Some slight knocks and restoration to the frame but an impressive and classic looking picture.

17th century English School, oil on canvas, Portrait of Sir Thomas Craig of Riccarton 1538-1608, holding a scroll, titled, 60.5 x 74cm, in period carved gilt frame. NB:Sir Thomas Craig of Riccarton (c. 1538-1608) was a notable Scottish jurist and poet. In 1564, he was appointed justice-depute. In this capacity he presided at many of the criminal trials of the period in Edinburgh. He was well known for his poetry and his 1603 ‘Jus Feudale’. This book was the first comprehensive legal treatise to be written in Scotland and its object was to assimilate the laws of England and Scotland, but, instead of this, it was an important factor in building up and solidifying the law of Scotland into a separate system.Provenance: Removed from The Garden House, HampsteadCondition report: Re-lined and restored in 1955 as per the label verso. Some overpainting on the outer edges visible under a UV light and the dates look to have been strengthened on the top right corner when the restoration was carried out.
