A pair of late Victorian silver three light candelabra, each having a centre raised candle holder, flanked by twin scroll candle arms, multi-knopped stems, the shaped square loaded bases with scroll cast corners, the bases each engraved; THE OFFICERS, 4TH BATTALION, SUFFOLK REGIMENT, and bearing Regimental coat of arms and the family crest of Colonel Frederick Fawssett, maker Thomas Bradbury, London 1897, height 61.5cm. Provenance: These candelabra were part of the regimental silver of 4th Battalion, Royal Suffolks which upon the regiments amalgamation (circa 1910) were given to Colonel Frederick Fawssett of Westgate House, Louth, the longest serving Cambridgeshire Militia Officer, and a Regimental Doctor. The stags head passant is the crest of the Fawssett family; they have descended in direct line to the vendor.
