Johanna Van Deventer, 1869-1959, still life of flowers in a vase, signed oil on canvas, 44 x 55cmOverall condition is complete, but dirty. There is a repaired hole just to the left of the vase on the table, which has been patched. Dirty, with crazing within the painted surface. Various light marks to the surface. Signed lower right. Frame is complete, with a few light marks and losses. What appears like a mark to the vase, is in fact a painted reflection. Was collected from a local house move in Suffolk.
A 1970's Ercol elm Windsor chest of drawers92w x 49d x 66h cmOverall condition is complete, but dry and dirty, with various light surface marks. Drawers are slightly tight, but open ok. Handles complete. Some marks to the wood near the handle of the middle drawer and the panel between the drawers. Unrestored having come straight from a house.
English school, 19th century, landscape with figures, oil on canvas, 87 x 115cmOverall condition is dirty, with some crazing across the surface and flaking paint towards the top. Various light surface marks and wear to the surface towards the edges. Does not appear to be signed or dated. Frame has surface marks and some losses. Was inherited by the family. Measures 135w x 7d x 103h cm in frame.
A set of six 19th century elm dining chairs, together with a modern light oak extending dining table, with one additional leave (7)183w x 91d x 73h cm overallThe chairs are all solid and usable. Overall they look rustic, with some repairs to leg tips and seat corners, signs of old woodworm and repairs to joints, but appear to have been restored in recent years. The wood has a dry finish and some areas have been filled. The table is modern and in used but clean general condition. These were collected from a house move in Suffolk, where they were being used.
A set of six modern black laminated bentwood dining chairs, after a design by Fritz Hansen (6)Overall condition is solid and usable. They have been used and have various light marks, are slightly dirty, with general signs of use, but no visible damage or repairs. They have two makers labels and are stamped to the plastic support under the seat.
A pair of Arts and Crafts rush seated open armchairs, circa 1900, in the manner of William Morris for Liberty, each having a splat back, on turned legs (2)Overall usable. The frames do have movement when pushed, due to a combination of the design and loose joints with age. One arm has been broken and glued, near the upright of the back. The seats are complete, but brittle and dirty. General light signs of wear/age.
A 17th century style oak refectory table, 19th century elements, with a plank top and carved frieze, on turned legs, united by square stretchers245w x 73d x 78h cmOverall condition is solid and usable. It is well made in a traditional way with pegged joints. Some light marks, mainly to corners and edges, but no damage or repairs. Removed from a house move. Was purchased for over £2,000 as 19th century, but it does not appear to be that old, but has been aged to give it the look of a 17th century table. The planks on the top are dry underneath and could be antique. The top lifts off, to make it easy to move.
A 1920's walnut narrow chest, having a brushing slide, over three graduated drawers, on bracket feet61w x 46d x 90h cmOverall condition is solid and usable. Drawers run ok. Locks in place but no keys. There are some light marks, dirt and signs of use. Split to the right hand side. Handles complete.
An early 20th century Sitzendorf porcelain oil lamp, encrusted with coloured flowers, on cherub supports, with a Young's burner and glass shade, 58cm highShade has a 1cm chip to the aperture and various smaller chips around the rim and light surface marks. Various tiny chips to the flowers and leaves. Metal fittings are tarnished and dull, but clip on correctly. Wear to gilt decoration.
A rare Queen Anne Britannia standard silver tankard, of plain tapered shape, hinged lid with a scrolled thumbpiece and scrolled handle, engraved with an armorial device, and inscribed *P*, W*A, 27 12 to the base, by John Fawdery, London 1703, 846g, 19cm highOverall condition appears to be complete, with overall general signs of age and wear. Tarnished. Various light dents and surface marks. Engraving may be later.
Southern Railway Bulleid Battle Of Britain Class Locomotive Nameplate shield depicting the RAF crest. A number of B-O-B locos carried this generic RAF Crest, primarily the ones named after Airfields, Fighter Aircraft and some Personalities. Vitreous enamel centre with gunmetal frame in good condition with one small face chip repair in the light blue background.
BR(M) FF enamel doorplate STATION MASTER. In the unique yellow and light blue only used at Penychain station which was used for the nearby Butlins holiday camp. Totems and Running in boards are known to survive but this is the first piece of smaller signage to be seen. In very good condition measures 18in x 6in. A unique doorplate.
Shedplate 72A Exmouth Junction 1950- September 1963. This ex LSWR shed to the east of Exeter had over 120 locos allocated throughout this period. At its peak it had 33 Bullied Light Pacifics and 7 Merchant Navies as well as 5 of those exotic Z class 0-8-0 tanks. In September 1963 it received the WR code 83D. In restored condition with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern region casting marks on the front. Vendor removed it from E1 class 32697.
Shedplate 73B Bricklayers Arms 1948-June 1962. This ex SECR shed had a substantial allocation in the 1950s numbering around 140 locos. It was mostly noted for its allocation of 13 Schools 4-4-0s and a varying number of Light Pacifics. Face restored with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern region casting marks on the front. Vendor removed it from N class 31853.
Worksplate Andrew Barclay & Sons Co Ltd., numbered LWDMU 692 dated 1986. Ex 4-wheeled DH 230Hp Pacer Class 143, 2-car sets numbered 143601 to 143625, AB numbers 669 to 718/1985 to 1986 If plated in sequence this is ex Set 143613, . The initials stand for Light Weight Diesel Multiple Unit. Bodies were built by Walter Alexander of Falkirk and the Underframes by AB. Cast aluminium in as removed condition measures 10in x 8in.
