Variant issue with cancel title and four lines in the imprint. Jesuit priest Henry Garnet was accused of having knowledge of the Plot from Robert Catesby and not disclosing it to the authorities. He admitted hearing details of the Plot from fellow jesuit Oswald Greenway, but at confession, which prevented him revealing it. Found guilty, he was sentenced to be hung, drawn and quartered, but due to a sympathetic crowd pulling on his legs after being turned off the gibbet he did not suffer the remainder of his sentence.
